On this particular single, the only remaining original member was Jerry Kollenburg. They then went on a sabbatical before original front man Ray Graffia resurrected the band years later. And we're all the better off for it!
@saguaroboy You're so right , and they're STILL criminally overlooked . The latter day band , led by Ray Graffia , are regarded as a "Fair Circuit " band , which is "Fair" enough , but , I saw them do a rare gig in Chicago proper last year , it was an all - Garage set , focusing mainly on all the great Sentar sides , and even "People and Me"(Another great , lesser known , track , from '72.). You could say early Buckinghams , Cryan' Shames , Ides of March and NC6 are proto -Power Pop
@pfordsq That's the VERY FIRST THING I thought when I heard it! They were power pop and I don't think they realized it... I've been listening to posts all night- they were ROCK SOLID. Criminally overlooked.
Very Top 40 but one heck of a song. Great harmonies. As I recall there's only one original member on this but they seemed to get better over the years and IMHO, this proves it.. This should have made the Top 10.
Maybe this would have been a bigger hit if the New Colony 6 had changed their name. Perhaps people in 1974 thought the NC6 were too retro & belonged to the 60s.
