Kalamari desert used to be one of my favorite stages on N64. It was a certain track that you could to left on and if you use a star to go through the tunnel, it was a crazy shortcut. That and jumping the left wall on Wario stadium, jumping back and being able to complete a lap in 8 seconds if you were good enough
