@@santiarroundhere1316 desert currency works cause crystalariums/things that become useless late game, fucking awesome idea to tie up loose ends, islamd shop meh raccoon wife shop no just no
I'd say the powdered melon giant crop might be my favorite design wise, it's so smooth and shiny! It's everything I wish the melon was edit: now that i've played a full year with these guys, i'm very disappointed by them. the carrot is great for the first spring, but then it's exclusively the horse's snack after getting cows. the summer squash and broccoli is easily overshadowed by the classic ones. but the biggest disappointment is the powder melon. other than the giant crop(still looks great) it's worse than planting winter foraging instead. I do admit this is the minmax side of me complaining and i fully understand it's not about the most gain
Powdermellons are op for the dehydrator. If you have a junimo hut there’s no reason you shouldn’t just plant a bunch and forget about them. The raccoon sells seeds for pinecones so u can just stock up for the year and plant like 200 or so at once
The powder melon are amazing! I made a new playthrough for 1.6 and they are a very good source of money in year 1, you can start getting them in the last week of fall and throughout all of winter, throw some of them in a seed maker and you'll have a very profitable winter 😊
I feel like because you have to use the seed maker, at least in year 1, you're more likely to make a ton of money on the wild seeds because by then you're probably at almost 10 foraging anyway. Carrots have something of a similar problem with snowballing because their production time is potentially so short(with speed grow, 2 days) you won't be able to process all your seeds year 1.
I wish you could buy them so I can have like huge carrot crops or whatever it may be. Seems like you can only get a couple at a time? I guess the seed maker in later game could help, right? I never got that far lol I always start new farms like a dumb dumb haha. Edit: guys this isn’t an april fools joke. I read the patch notes days ago lol
In 1.6 two new large crops were added, the powdermelon & the qi “bean” - so no big carrot unfortunately! But yes, the seed maker works for these & there is also somewhere you can purchase them later! (but that’s a spoiler for another time lol)
I feel like these also help make the seed maker more useful. Like money versus time, people usually just go and buy more seeds, but you can’t do that with these
I love the idea of farming during winter. I have lots of mods that include winter crops. The only Harvest Moon game that I played that had winter crops was Harvest Moon 2 GBC.
It's legitimate plants! I've grown all 4 in stardew recently. Haven't seen the giant powder melon before, but I imagine it's probably legitimate since the regular melons do that-
i grew a lot of summer squashes in my new save, and though they may not be the best summer money maker they're a great easy energy source! im gonna be saving loads for eating on mining trips! for those interested, regular = 63 energy, 28 health silver = 88 energy, 39 health gold = 113 energy, 50 health not half bad for a year 1 food source! especially given that you don't have to pay for the seeds 😉
i'd say hops are more reliable, mostly because they regrow every single day after the first harvest. for money, blueberry's multiple crop per harvest might still be better than the squash, and the seeds are more reliably obtained. and if you have the desert unlocked, starfruit trumps it big time
I started a completely new run for this update and now I feel so dumb for ignoring those new small spots on the ground thinking it’s normal ground detail, I’ve been missing out on so much already
I remember playing this game. Those are cool new crops, but I don't think I'm gonna let go of my min-maxed farm where everything is planted to max efficiency.
I dont know why I dislike the powdermelons as much as I do beyond winter being the one season I can just deep dive in the desert or staycation on Ginger Island til spring.
Ironically, I farm as little as possible on almost all my saves and prefer ranching. But it is definitely nice to finally have carrots, squash and broccoli in the game!
I love farming but I’m mad at Broccoli.. I have gotten BAGS of Broccoli seeds like a million times already just fishing.. GIVE ME TREASURES!! NOT BROCCOLI!!
Anyone know if he added the option to extend the day cycle, like in Roots of Pacha? Juat very curious because it is very hard to relax in Stardew, but i love it so much
Something else I've noticed is the prices of these crops are different to other items, the gold sells for the least amount of money. So you can save the gold ones for the most energy and sell the rest. Broccoli is worth the most.
Hola no se si esto pasa tambien en la version en ingles pero cuando consigues la llave calavera al final de la mina el texto que sale sigue diciendo que se pondra en el monedero cuando este ya no existe 😅
The powder melon sounds wierd... i liked the idea that you have to tend to your animals and go mining in winter.. But now its like, oh yeah, we just have a water melon that can survive snow Maybe if it was rare and the genimos gave it to you
