The entire point of this rifle is that it is the same platform as a 1377, 1322, 2240, 362 etc.. Buck Rail has quite a bit for it right out of the gate as does Alliance, Baker, JG and everyone else.
Interesting platform to get folks in the game. I'm sure by the time folks do the mod upgrades one could have purchased a much better airgun and save time and money. My guess it's a backyard plinker.
Hay Jon, just like the Bug out 362 pumper build turned out to be? My Crosman 362 turned out to be a 20 yard somewhat accurate can plinker! When I was expecting accuracy more like Benjamin Discovery.
If you're looking for a budget pcp /hpa for the same 150$ in my opinion you should go with a JTS air gun Travis Whitney. So tou it's go to have a Crossman marauder style build to it with a lot more features he been building custom air gun for quite some time now. Check out this year's models😊
As someone who loves airguns and isn’t flush with cash and doesn’t own a pcp yet, I’m definitely interested in this. The inability to mount an optic is crazy though, what was crosman thinking
@raunchyconservative9114 Look into the Beeman Chief PCP model 1322. better quality for only a few dollars more. See how many times others mention the same air rifle in the comments.
My Barra 1100z was only $225 and has a side lever, threaded barrel for moderator, picatinny rail, nice trigger. Just skip the all plastic guns like this and get some a little better for not much more.
For $150, might as well spend $10-30 more and get the Beeman QB Chief, get a fill gauge, wood stock, ability to mount a scope straight out of the box and the glorious Crosman 160 style adjustable trigger. Still not sold on PCPs personally though...
@@supergreatairgunreviews I definitely can see why so many like them, especially for hunting, but I personally don’t really like the idea of having a rifle that is dependent on another piece of hardware like a pump or compressor. At that point if I’m going to pump, might as well just stick to a multi pump and have the pump and gun all in one unit or with the price of a quality compressor, I’d probably just splurge and get a HW50 or even better, my dream Diana 48.
@@js23- Yeah I hear ya that's kinda how I felt about them too until I got mine. I just got the cheap hand pump from amazon and have had no issues for a year and half so far. I just keep it filled up and it's ready to go for pest control around my fruit trees, 10 shot mag in mine so if I need a follow up shot it's super quick and simple. But yeah I swore by springers for "prepping" aspect of simplicity, but idk anything can fail or wear out eventually. I got a ton of .22 ammo stacked for emergencies but the pcp is nice super accurate quiet backyard rifle
They should have just brought the Discovery back out, but guess it would sell for 250-300 just for the gun now. I'm guess a steel breech and other aftermarket parts will be out there. The Breech from a 1322/1377 may fit. People love to buy these low price guns and customize them.
Thanks….I got one coming with coupon code and free shipping $119….couldnt pass it up ….I got a bunch of PCP’s and a rov/air…just wanted another simple lego gun to tinker with….it has potential……good luck
@@ohshoot444 I’m highly considering doing that what you just said. I haven’t bought the 362 yet but I’m really thinking about getting one and doing that exact thing.
You may like this one Gary. Although I think it’d be too loud for your set-up. I’d wait for the prices to maybe drop and Buckrail to come out with a shusher for the noise. It’s not great. But it’s familiar and with a little love it’d be a great gun.
The breech on the 3622 is identical to many other Crosman guns, including the 362 pump rifle. If you really want to add an optic, you can order the steel breech upgrade for it, which is $35 from Pyramyd, and adds a dovetail rail.
Hey Travis, Thanks for another great video. I agree with you and pretty much everybody else who has already commented; Crosman should have just added the steel breech, a pressure gauge, and better quality. I've been a fan of Crosman 1377 and 1322 because they were cheap intro airguns, and I was really looking forward to getting a 362 because it was a already a good deal out of the box at $100. But when they charged $400 for the wooden stock commemorative edition I thought they were insane. Anyway, I hope you and your family are all well and happy. Stay Safe. Be Well. GOD BLESS.
I would be hitting up Buck Rail for a breech and maybe some other goodies. The price should come down a little. Warranties mean nothing to me. Thanks for looking at the gun.
You know, some people, like me, specifically like the synthetic stock for it's lightweight. I am sick of huge, 10 pounds PCP rifles. The 3622 with scope is lighter than any PCP rifle I know of. The Beeman Chief is a lesser rifle, heavier and not as accurate. And does not have the large selection of parts to mod the rifle. Nobody is going to over pump this rifle with a hand pump and that little tube can easily handle a bit of over pressure if called upon. Several place are already discounting below MSRP. Mine likes JSB 18s and groups are tight. Velocity and shot count is spot on Crosman claims. It is a wonderful little rifle.
Air Gun Detective did a short segment on this rifle at his shot show 24 video. The Crosman rep said that the 3622 should be available for sale late fall l2024? And now It's being sold? My guess Is there will be some glitches and Crosman will have to address these bugs. Thanks for taking one for the team Travis! Instead of blowing $159 I'll put that money towards a Umarex Notos Carbine!
Good sales strategy from Crosman. The shortcomings will undoubtedly be corrected in a newer version at a slight additional cost. Despite $150 in the US, it doesn't justify its price.
I feel like you're gonna spend a bit more than $150. You've got to buy a suppressor for it and a steel breach and I bet there will be more to buy for it. It's almost like you buy a blank canvas and you have to spend some money to make it any good. I think if Crosman were to make a gauge for it and add a steel breach and raise the price to $180 or $170. It may then be worth it. 🤷♂
so far I think it will be a great base for tinker'ers. Guarantee BR got 1 too lol. The aftermarket will come alive! The fill port for sure I can see being blinged out or otherwise customized into a million options. I am sure BR is elbow deep into development as we type lol.
I just got done watching a video of the Crosman 3622 on the Off The Shelf Airguns Channel. It was just a interdiction to the 3622. From that video I'm already liking the 3622 and looking to get one in the future.
they should put a 3k burst disc for a safety. im sure you can tape a hole to add a gauge' its a discovery trigger change spring add set screws the 3 screw mod and the 1322 scope mount should fit it for sights its made from all different old parts that are factory new' all that it is' i prefer to build my own out of there parts l like to think i can build it better at the same time i can use better parts for less then there releases price
Thank for sharing and taking one for the team, Travis! Cheap looking, quality issues right out of box. Average person with zero knowledge of air guns, total frustation. Quality across the world post Covid is horrible! Thanks for sharing, Have a great day! Steve
Hi Travis! Got to play with mine yesterday. Got the sights where the pellets are hitting. H&N Crow Magnum dead on now, Crosman Ultra Heavy slightly right and low, Benjamin 14.3 still hitting right of aim point. My Hill G9 pump in the kit is working. Need to try more pellets and do some actual grouping. Riddict tested the trigger on his. 1st pull 4 lbs, 2nd and 3rd, 2 lbs.
Thanks for taking a 200 hit for all of us. Any Warranty is useless because any mods or adjustment VOID the warranty. This is a LEGO air rifle intended to sell the user upgrades. I'm a Crosman fan and customer for many years, but I see the controlling investment Co. of Crosman with a money grab raising the price 20 more than they stated just 6 weeks ago. They're waving the flag and saying come buy this it's Made in USA.. It should be 129 and a deluxe version (no mods needed) with a steel breech and fill gauge at 169 to 179. I hear a Rumor the NEW Crosman Prospect, which was to be out last month, has a serious flaw and needs a safety fix before it is released now. I don't know about Crosman these days??????
I think I will spend a little more and get a better gun that at least has a gauge, metal trigger and receiver and a way to mount a scope. Not having a gauge is just asking for issues. Crosman has this over priced, it should be less than $100 for what little you get. They missed big on this
not to take away from Travis's video. i got question, if you dont have a nice property or safe place at home to practice/plink how do you find a place?
If you live in the city, I would probably try and find a range. Next would be to make some friends with some farmers and offer to pay. Any hardware store out in the country is a good place to start. Ask the old fellas.
Thanks but no thanks . Much like there overpriced 362 limited edition , but in the other direction . By the time you add all the goodies it could be like buying something better . No manometer has never concerned me , my Airforce Talon Gen 1 didn't come with one . A decent pump or a compressor will have a pretty accurate gauge . If it was me I would send it back . Sounds like a rip-off ?
I'm sure they'll be some aftermarket stuff that comes out for this eventually. But if you're wanting power, I'd probably look elsewhere. Crosman put the bare minimum effort into this one.
I don't get your expectation that this is more than a bare bones beginner PCP. The 362 pumper (which i own and like and is where this comes from) is totally without higher end features as well.No steel breach, lots of so-so plastic parts ,non adjustable trigger.Etc. Do enjoy your content although this "review" seems to already be a forgone conclusion that its lacking in every way and is a failure on Crosmans part. For a real world price of 120-130 bucks they will sell very well to those of us who begrudgingly buy the Chinese guns that dominate the sub -400. price point PCP market.
Not a good start when you have to spend hours to get the pump to work. My thought is send it back, not for replacement, but for refund! Then again I don't have the fix it skill you have, Travis.
Not at all backyard friendly. Has no scope mounts, no threads to screw on a moderator, single shot, no gauge, only good for first pcp if you live in the country due to loudness, plastic receiver, no adjustable trigger, what's to like? Super hard pass for me.
