@Super Man I too have two Dusters. Our 1st one is 4 years old and I have had no problems with it. they creek and squeek a bit but you get what you pay for. this is how I am certain my new 2018 Duster if faulty. My main surprise is the attitiude of Renault/Dacia toward my case. they are making out I am a compete idiot. I have four second opinions from garages that solely deal with gearboxes and all have unanimously deemed this a fault in the car, (signed and stamped) so I know I am right. Everybody can here it. All I am saying is just beware of the reaction of Renault/Dacia if you seem to have a serious fault. My personal point of view, (HAVING BOUGHT TWO DUSTERS). is spend a little more and buy something else.

@Super Man The car is 4 months old from brand new. It carries a 3 year warranty. It still has 32 months guarantee left. I noticed the problem on day one. Took it back a week later and they (Renault/Dacia) have been , to put it politely..unhelpful since I took it back.

If i didn't just bought the Hyundai I30 1.4Turbo..I would have thought to buy me a Duster 4x4...it 'll be my next within 2 years..i suppose.. :)

@@gixxerboy555 I would stay with the Hyundai. In my opinion the duster is crap. I have one and its foe sale.

@@simonnelson7770 At the time of writing it had none of that useless crap, now it does. So now the Dacia Duster is stuffed with useless crap to make it? Better? or worse?

@simon Nelson. Nope. You can still buy them spartan style or better fitted. So you can buy some of the unnecessary quirks but you can have it empty or a level in between. It will always be like that.

Rider Geek you are totaly wrong. Independent suspension allows less axle articulation but it is much better on road and on small potholes. In solid axle if one side ones up because of bump...second side is forced to move down.

Rider Geek you are an idiot. Buggy, ATV were made for sport and some utility purposes BTW 70% of ATV have solid axles on the rear. Buggy wer not designed to drive in extrem terrein.. off road. Modern expensive SUV are shit in off road and nooone is driving expensive SUVs in off road. Go on technology university... read book „ Theory of land lcomotion” and you ill know. BTW the best off roader cars still have solid axles sometimes only on the rear...sometimes on rear and front. Check How big axle articulation solid axle allows. You are both wrong. First Duster didn’t have a single one diff lock. Both cars have two open diferentials and option to lock multi plate electromagetic clutch between axles. Wheels are just stoped by brakes. New Duster has the same construction like first one it has just newer clutch and improved software. Ingars Siliņš offroad capability is the same, identicaldrivetrain in respect to off-roading capabilities. There are rumours that it might have an improved software that would allegedly detect offfroading situations better and brake free spinning wheels faster.

@@DaciaFans So 80kw is like How many HP? Here in Brazil we have a 120hp 1.6 liter and a 147hp 2.0 liter. Both Gasoline/Ethanol.

Buy something else. the after sales is very bad. If you have a problem they don't want to know about it.

inox1ck you are an idiot. First this car has no frame. Second the better car perform off road, on gravel, on bumps, on potholes the worse it perform on road on smooth tarmac. Even one milion dolars worth cars like WRC cars have exactly the same. Duster is the best off roader in small SUV and small corssovers. It has the longest suspension travel and softer suspension set up also for worse and off road conditions. If you make it lower, stiffer, with shorter suspension travel you will improve some behavior on smooth tarmac but you will destroy whole off road and gravel capabilities.
