Oh my God! Its 4:18 in the morning, and I'm waiting for my wife to be admitted in to the hospital she just went into labor! Due to covid-19 they won't let me in until she is fully admitted. I'm sitting in my truck waiting for the call! I have never been so excited or scared in my entire life! Thank you for all the advice that you give us! Keep up the good work man and wish us luck!
@@DadUniversity it went absolutely amazing! The girl is a soldier! No pain meds! I couldn't stop laughing and crying at thebsame time. Overwhelmed with joy!
@@robertlongenette6104 Congrats!!! :) I feel you, i've experienced those situations for the echographies, few months ago: I couldn't get off from my car in the parking. 4 months left on my side! Greets from Italy :)
Any tips you have from this first 24-48 hrs you can give? Expecting in March, first one. Still hasn't hit, 12 weeks in and I still feel like nothing's changed. Mentally though I'm scrambling to prepare for everything and anything!
Met my daughter at 7:34am yesterday. It all hit me when we did skin-on-skin for a while… most beautiful moment and best in my life so far. Mom has been doing incredible and strong. Communication is key! I am so comfortable right now having my baby girl and new mom/girlfriend next to me. Thank you for this video! Watching as I watch them sleep together for a nap. Thank you!
Congrats. It sounds easy but we all know attitude can be affected by so many things. Remind yourself often that you do have control. It will help a lot
Going to be a new dad in May 2022. My wife and I have gone through IVF and we are both currently 41 years of age. We haven't wanted anything more in life than a child. We've done our travelling and couples stuff. We're so excited for our child. Thanks for the video. It was great help.
Congrats man! We went through the IVF nightmare and 7 years later it happened out of no where naturally. Completely blessed. People who go through IVF are some special people to put up with the stress. I wish you all the luck! Our baby girl will be here in a month.
@@andrewkenseth4814 hey Andrew! Thanks dude. I'm so happy that you were able to eventually have a child after 7 years. IVF is such an emotional period of your life. We are so lucky it took us two rounds of IVF to fall pregnant. Take care of yourself Andrew!!!!
@@andrewkenseth4814 Except that our daughter was born with tethered cord and other severe complications requiring multiple surgeries. I had started a business and my now ex-wife wasn't able to work. All the stress lead to divorce. IVF should be outlawed! Who do you think you are to play god? Parents who are old or pursue IVF have children at increased risk of complications. Maybe don't wait til you're old and don't force against nature
It’s Mid-Week 36 and I’m hunkering down at home to provide the most positive environment for my wife’s ninth month. Thanks for this video. I have watched it several times during our first pregnancy, but it means even more now!
00:00 intro 01:23 clear your schedule 02:40 don't expect your baby to be on a schedule 03:36 get sleep 04:36 try not to worry 05:57 you don't need to buy everything 07:04 have a good pediatrician 07:50 enjoy the present moment
number one tip, the fact tyhat you are worrying, means you're a great parent, keep at it youll catch on the baby needs 5 things sleep, eat, poop, pees, and love... 1 month and two weeks ago my beautiful daughter was born, and is perfect!
Just got the news I’m having a girl ! I had a very rough past being 22 I asked god to take all these vices out my life !!! He blessed me with my daughter I’m ready
Met my son last Tuesday brought him home on the Thursday. It’s been less than a week the first night was rough my wife and I had no sleep at all due to natural feeding. He is feeding a lot better already and we’re managing to get better sleep although still in segments. His sleep tip hit home!! Be wary of the sudden realisation of being a parent , this will take time to settle in especially if you’re normally a quite anxious person! Communication with your partner is key also! Don’t bottle up how you feel. It really is an indescribable feeling, seeing a part of you in the flesh. All the best on your journey soon to be and already fathers 😁
I’ve only been a dad for a month and, be careful y’all. Ask for help. This is not easy. It’s very rewarding but you have to be careful with your emotions. When you feel frustrated, ask your partner to take the little for a bit for you to cool off. This is usually a two person job. And if not, ask a friend. Your mental health is extremely important during this time. How can you expect to take care of a newborn if you yourself are not taken care of? Best of luck to y’all!
This put my mind at ease, first time dad due in 8 weeks, I am a bit terrified/excited but my wife is a nursery teacher and knows a lot more, so kudos there, but means I have ALOT more to learn than her
Omg don't let family come over for at least several days unless they are coming to help you! It was so stressful dealing with visitors when you're trying to feed or pump every 3 hours... ugh
On the 13th of this month my life changed forever, not only was it my birthday, but also the day I would welcome my daughter into this world, and all I can say, I wish I would have seen this yesterday before I only got 1 hour of sleep. My precious daughter decided to cry all night, and around 2:00 am I broke down. I finally got her down after hours of trying, went out for fresh air and did a quick cry of my own. Looking back less than 24 hours I kind of have to laugh at myself for that. But holding her I wouldn’t change a thing. Thanks so much for the video!
My wife and I just had our baby last night! What an experience. Both my girls are perfect and I’m thankful to channels like this that help us Cool Dads out!
They can come by maybe in 2-3 wks Meet your new baby, get know the personality. Usually you get to learn the babies schedule during the second and third trimester. Babies do pick up on emotions try to be relaxed.
My son is due in 2 weeks, and watching this helped relieve some stress and worry going into fatherhood. It is all very overwhelming to me but thank you for creating content for new Dad’s to be to help us not feel so alone.
Ours is 5 months old now.....looking back everything we worried about never happened, stuff we never dreamed of did, we never expected a c-section at the last minute, I brought enough stuff from home to live in the hospital for a week and did not use hardly any of it, ended up sleeping in a hard chair for 3 days in the same clothes.....sunroof in the car leaked water all over the seats the morning we brought him home.....I could not see my parents get to hold him because of covid restrictions I had to leave the room when they entered. We vould not get a decent meal at a decent time, Absolutely none of it mattered, when your are in the moment let the troubles go they dont really matter, its not worth getting upset over, try to embrace and remember all the small little loving moments with your new child and their mother that you possibly can, it goes by so quickly, take lots of photos of the moments that make you smile, the best photos we have are of times we did not plan or stage for pictures. Having a sweet picture my new born child sleeping with his mom in a darkened room after a hectic day means way more to me than a staged hospital newborn photo....take it easy, dont be afraid to pray and ask God for help, do the best you can to be supportive, she is going through way more than a guy can imagine, be there for her to help as best you can in the following months, (I could have done so much more to help her looking back) its not going to be easy with a newborn but it is totally worth it.😉👍
My son is coming today at 9am. You make a great point about enjoying the time with your baby and not letting small stuff bother us or ruin our experience! Good tip! 👊 If anyone sees this, feel free to say a prayer 🙏 for my new little family! God bless you all!
@@yohannicholas7282 My prayers are certainly going to be with you, try to remember as much of today as you can, write it all down later, 7 months later it will feel like it was 10 years ago LOL! I look back and wish I had spent more moments with being with my son that first week instead of worrying about getting the house ready, shopping etc....it all works out, dont stress over anything you dont need to. Congratulations!😄👍
Just had my daughter sept 8th, immediately went to RU-vid and started watching videos, thank you for making videos like this because they really help the guys out. Never knew anything about a baby before I had mine and your videos have already helped me out a lot
Bringing my little one home today I’m so excited and it’s so amazing how you can go for not knowing someone to loving them so much more than words can ever express in such little time.
Brining home boy girl twins on Father’s Day this weekend and your video was great! Feels empowering to hear what you know I true and I appreciate the last one. That’s the best reminder you could have. When your frustrated, tired or whatever just remember how lucky you are to have them! Thanks man!
My wife and i had our baby last week but she was born a month early so she spent 8 days in NICU. She got discharged today so i was lucky enough to have her home on my first fathers day. We’re pretty paranoid at the moment because she had respiratory issues but I’m so glad she’s finally home. It’s an awesome feeling! Congrats on the twins. Hope you and the family stay healthy.
@@zacharypounds8028 thanks buddy! Everything has been amazing and the kids are growing like weeds! Couldn’t be a happier daddy! I too hope you’ve had an amazing journey.
@@jasonlo8780 it was a single shot rifle my dude! We are done and couldn’t be happier. We got exactly what we wanted if I can be totally honest. We already had their names picked out before we knew anything.
"You don't need to buy everything!" As a first-time expectant dad, I needed to hear this. One of the many things on my mind is that I'm expecting a huge list of things I need to buy to prepare for my new baby. It's nice to be reminded to focus on picking up the basics (i.e. car seat, crib/bassinet, baby wipes, change table, etc.)
😮 I'm becoming a dad. After one month... I'm an enthusiastic parent now. I'm preparing for this. So I sleep 5 hours a day. 😅... Beautiful 😍 little daughter..
I actually made contact with a pediatrician a month before birth. Planning ahead. But people still tell me not to do so. But it's always better to be prepared 😊
I'm 25, soon to be a single father, and I am honestly a bit nervous but overall stoked out of my mind. The mom is in the third trimester, and I cannot tell whether I should expect calm, or chaos. All I know is that I will love being a father.
My gf and i have been together for 9 yrs We started when we were in high shool, and now were having a child (3mos pregnant)! Still cannot believe it and i know its time for some dad tips! Thank you dad university! ❤️
@@free5370 You'll do great! Honestly I was way over thinking it (and watched too many videos). Diapers, food, and lots and lots of love. That's it. The rest will come naturally 😊
Here’s a tip for something to buy. I bought a 65$ folding changing table. It has lockable wheels, can easily fold and be moved anywhere. After the first night we came home and my son peed on the walls, I bought it. I have thousands of dollars of stuff, and the thing I use the most is a 65$ changing table. No one uses the babies bedroom for the first 6months to a year. Your pulling a shift and am in the living room so your wife can get some rest, this changing table is your best friend. No looking all over the Kids room for stuff, you got it all on hand. Wanna give the kid a bath, keep the table close for easy dressing or undressing. Kid has a blowout, take the whole top off and hose it down outside, or disinfect spray or whatever! No huge mess on that nice changing table furniture in the kids room. Got an apartment like me, this folding changing table is a game changer! No pee or poop on the rugs, now it’s on the hardwood and easy to clean, I’m telling you!! Buy this item it’s amazing,
Our 1st daughter (after 3 boys) was born yesterday and just arrived home. Healthy delivery. 12/4/2021 super excited sensitive dad, but wasn’t sensitive before...it’s crazy how a daughter will change your whole perspective around. Still watching my sunday football lol
Very sweet but also don't be afraid to express your sensitive side towards your sons and teach them how to do the same. So that they will make good partners in the future like one you would want for your precious daughter.
My son will be here in a week or 2. Your videos are very helpful. Closer it gets the more the nerves are starting to set in. I appreciate you for the videos you make!
You’re a good guy. I’ve watched a ton of your videos and in some weird way you offer me security in knowing I’m preparing for my first baby boy coming in June 2023. Your discipline video is priceless, it’s exactly how I want to do it. I hope you know that with every view your videos get could be shaping a child’s future for how the dads raise them. So essentially, you are the unsung uncle of probably hundreds of thousands of babies. Thanks for taking the time to make the videos. Jon - Los Angeles California
just brought baby home. day 4, she is cool, she likes to cry a bit. in the beginning, it was quite easy at the hospital. good video, helped put things into perspective. i think today has been a good day as i have focused on not worrying. now to focus on being more present
First night having the baby here, wife is out after breastfeeding the baby, and concerning thing is he only sleeps with her (he’s gonna be a mommas boy sadly). I just put my son in the bassinet and I can’t get over the fact that he’s really here, when I carry him I just look at his cute little face and want to cry and I’m not the type to, but this kiddo just brings that out of me, I’m really gonna enjoy these couple of weeks before I go to school because Ik he’s gonna grow up fast and he’s not gonna remain my baby boy forever, this video helped because I can’t stop flinching or worrying anytime he cries
My girlfriend is being induced tomorrow and I was honestly really nervous but watching this really helped calm those nerves! Thanks a lot, keep doing what you do!
My wife and i have had 2 miscarriages early on and are now 12 weeks pregnant with our rainbow baby we’re both so excited but I’m a lot more excited than I act i can’t stop watching these kind of videos because it make my heart happy prayers that we get to meet this baby! It’s a girl by the way!
i have a 3 y/o boy and baby girl due any day now. I resonate with his last point to remember to enjoy it. I struggle with that, it often feels so hard and i sometimes a lot of times see it as a chore. However it does get better the last few weeks have been a lot better, maybe just the first 3 years are tough.
I’m expecting my first child September 25th!! I can’t wait to meet my baby girl 💖. I know it will be a journey, but I promise to try my best 💯🙏 thank you lord 🙏🙏🙏
Ha ha... Congrats to all the new dads. Here's a tip: Your baby is a few days old. You are 20 to 40 years old. There's nothing this baby can throw at you that you cannot handle, with your decades of experience. You got this. Enjoy!
We just had our baby today, and he was 6 days past due date. Absolutely beautiful baby boy. Hes completely healthy. 8lbs 3oz… very helpful video, plus new subscriber
How many men have this MIND-SET & ATTITUDE???🥹🥹🥹 love to see this! We'll also be bringing our New Born Baby Home in about 3 months🥹🥹🥹🥹 can not wait!!!!
My twin boys were just born on Sunday. They'll be in NICU for about a month. They were 6weeks early but everything is looking good so far. This CV19 thing definitely throws a monkey wrench into things. My wife and I can't visit them at the same time and no one can visit them at all while they are in the hospital. It'll be hard keeping people at bay once we get them home.
Baby and mom coming home this afternoon God willing🙏🏻Looking forward to this. Its the holidays so I was up at 05:30 this morning spring cleaning the house. Thanks for the tips.
my baby daughter is due in 9 weeks !! can't wait and we have bought everything but we want to give her the best life and luckily, both of us have good jobs.
This video is 100% how it went and honestly gives me a ton of relief! We just brought home our baby boy and I had every feeling he described! I barley slept last night worried about if he was to cold or to hot and if he was eating enough or to much and everything else so this helps me so much!
@@mikemieding4773 Actually our daughter was in the NICU for many days however this isn't the struggle olympics. We are here to support and help each other. I'm sorry you are going through difficulties. I'm sure it is very hard. You replying angrily to other people isn't going to get you or your child better. It sounds like you are listening to some other philosophy material which is hopefully helpful. Feeding your mind and body with positivity is the best path to feeling better. Negativity will never help.
@@mikemieding4773Sorry you're going through this. No one is contesting your struggle. But angrily replying to every happy parent here won't help you, just stirs up more anger and resentment that you clearly are suffering from. I would really suggest reaching out for therapy and wish you the best, hope you are able to find some positives from fatherhood and your hard work.
We buy everything you guys don't need because moms are the ones taking care of the baby most of the time. We know what we need and believe me, if we are going to spend 24 hours a day with them everything we buy is needed. For our mental health, it is nice to have things WE WANT❤
My partner and I just found out that we are having a baby and at first, I was really stressed, but I have calmed down and looking forward to this new chapter in life. I just came across your videos and it helps a lot and I want to say thank you!
My mom always said my pediatrician would say “he’ll sleep when he’s tired & eat when he’s hungry.” Sometimes people over complicate young children/babies.
