WOW!!! This really blew my mind, I don't think I've read mention of this being the sample/inspiration for the melody. I think you truly made a discovery...no "daft-pun" intended
Considering that Alive is a mix of the New Wave, I do believe it is a sample, but like... it doesn't really count then (cuz it's a mix of the New Wave)
Pro tip: Use spectrograms when comparing samples if possible, if you can make it an exact match, it's the 100% confirmed sample. I think the reason why Electric Chair was rejected from whosampled is because it didn't match up. If you are unable to compare it via spectrograms because if the sound is too quiet or buried in there, just go by ear. Also the Da Funk interpolation was a huge stretch if you ask me. Beats me why they didn't put in the Aura Rock interpolation.
Thing about spectrograms is that most producers modify the sample in some sort of way, either via EQ, compression, distortion, and audio FX. Knowing that Daft Punk made Homework with cheap home studio equipment, any sample they used was probably modified to some extent that a spectrogram wouldn't ever be a perfect match.
@@oneworldcommunity117 while that's fair, I feel like it'd be a close enough match, for EQ it's just a certain clip's top, mod or bottom sections either obscured or boosted, the shape is still there
The vocals? Pretty sure they're from Tim Dog and KRS One - I Get Wrecked. 0.23 seconds of this vid - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7BCvDXRyPoE.html There's an acapella on the single that they would have got it from.
@@sokora_uk I'm at school rn, once I get back to my studio ima investigate this. Listening on my phone, it doesnt seem it but ima pitch it up and throw a filter on it. If so then holy smokes bro
