I'm definitely, absolutely, categorically NOT getting this foundation! All I want is a foundation to do what it claims to do. Nothing else, no surprises and no tweaking with other products to try to make it usable. I don't think that's unreasonable. Such a shame though, I got so excited when I saw the olive undertones in the shade choices. Waaaaaah 😭😭😭 Now I'm really looking forward to the Nars vid. You are not alone in not adoring this foundation. I felt it was heavy on the skin. I have normal leaning dry skin and I’m 53. It looks okay. Oddly, I found that it looked a bit better 2-3 hours in and it may have to do with the oils meshing. It’s simply not what I had hoped for, in that it was not “Yummy”. Yummy to me would be hydrating, light weight and more luminous. I haven’t tried mixing it but it might be nice to use a few drops in skin tints when I want more coverage.
I love how you zoom in to show how your skin looks. It's so helpful. Foundation of any kind never looks perfect on my chin. Is everyone's chin so textured?? 😟

I love Danessa Myricks products but this is a pass for me because it requires more work and attention I want to give a foundation. You look beautiful!!! I feel you with the temptation to pick/peel the skin. I hate when I notice skin of the corner of my eye🤣
Thanks, Tara. I've taken this foundation off my list for the upcoming Sephora sale. I think it will last longer on me because I have super dry skin but I was concerned about the reports of chin patchiness. That's where all my flaky takes place. Super helpful review!
That was a great shade match on you. I ordered mine & waiting for it to arrive. Before getting it I saw a couple of reviews and went a bit darker because they looked so incredibly light. I’m probably a light/light medium (I’m still learning how to shade match myself so it’s a process lol) and I picked the one that says medium on their website and even then it might be too light.
Oh shoot. I'm sorry to hear you had issues with shades. This foundation matched me great, and that hasn't happened in a long time. Normally, for reviews, I end up buying 2 shades to get it right. This one was right from the gate. But I know how frustrating that can be. It's such a pain😳😳😳
I have dry mature skin. I saw a review and read they suggest a pea size amount for the whole face. So the 2nd time I wore it I definitely did it that way and love it. I always powder my cheek area with hourglass veil so I didn't have any of the issues you did. I love the finish on you as well but thank goodness there's so many good recent foundation releases that you don't have to work so hard with.
Been dying to try DM cosmetics but either the fact some of her stuff doesn’t dry down completely and then this one…never been able to try anything from this talented MUA 😕

I have dry, mature skin,. And I also have the same chin area problem with the Danessa’s VCC foundation. So, after I apply the foundation, I put a few drops of face oil on my fingertips and massage it into my chin. Then it melts in evenly. I guess I will have to do the same with Yummy. But at least I won’t have to mix 2 shades together to get my match.
Great review Tara!! Not a foundation for my mature skin!! I really dislike finicky foundations and this seems the case!!! A question however how many chemical peels have you had? Your skin looks incredible!🤗 I’ve had 3 and a couple of laser treatments and I still have stubborn pigmentation!! Just curious whether I should keep going or give up!!!! 🤩
@Debbie bubbles Cunico Melasma hyperpigmentation has everything to do with yeast and fungal. You really want to get rid of them. Cut carbohydrates and sugar out of your diet. And, the nizoral product, you can actually use that as a treatment. Put it on your little area leave it. And doesn't matter a fact other products that you put on your skin such as SPF can affect that. Wear large hats. I follow an esthetician on RU-vid I forget her name. Beautiful Asian woman she also does facial exercises and facial yoga. Her methods hands down are excellent. She gives information that really works. My esthetician, noticed right away how light my marks have become. Thanks to that woman. She only does a video once A month. When she pops up I'll come back and tag her name on this. I'll also tag on the name of the ingredient that works on melasma spots. Just give me a little bit I just woke up. It's coffee time. 😂
Thank you for doing such a thorough review on this! Sadly, this just further confirms my opinion about Danessa Myricks products: not made for an average consumer like myself.
She has amazing Cream Eyeshadows, the ColorFix products are fantastic. But her complexion products haven't always worked for me. Her original vision pigment was CRAZY pigmented and for me worked better as a pigment to mix with a light coverage Foundation than an actual Foundation on its own. But if you like Cream shadows, hers are some of the best😁❤

So if you never ended up powdering when you used your cream products did it ever set down? I ALWAYS have to powder every single foundation I own. They all seem to remain tacky and will come off on clothing, under fingernails, etc...
Another great review Tara, your the best at getting up close and personal and really letting us see how it really looks. All I want is a foundation to go on like it’s suppose to and not have to jump thru hoops to make it work, plus I have dry mature skin, this is a pass. Thanks Sarah. It was NOT a fun experience going through it, but I'm very happy with my results. I've been told over the next few months, my skin will look better and better as the collagen produces and heals. I'm hoping it helps with my acne scarring. That will take a few months to see the effects😁❤ But I'm excited and don't regret doing it😁 Thanks for the compliment, I appreciate it so much❤
Hi dear Tara, wow, you did put a lot of work in this, with and without the CT moisturizer, the wear tests etc, i love so much your detailed and honest reviews!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩I don't know about this foundation, just enjoying what i have, love most the Cle de Peau, all Chantecaille and the red Koh Gen Do tube foundation, normal to dry sensitive skin here. Cle de Peau is hard to get here in Europe. And also love others! I ordered the latest Nars one. When my skin is a bit less sensitive i love to use, with a protecting moisturer under it, the Dior Airflash and the La Mer Cushion. I was also hoping this foundation is something for me, but now i have my doubts. And all is asking from our planet when buying new stuff, i want to realize that more. I have been so curious what you thought! I have oily dehydrated acne prone skin and reviewed 2 shades. Not only was it way too light and technically should've been my shade but it was the MOST DRYING formula I've ever used. I tried it so many different ways and it just made my skin look like the Sahara Desert 🤣
Now that's really interesting Danielle 🤔. I thought, (considering the claims that all skin types could use this), that it would be ideal on oily skin - seeing as it didn't work on a dry skin type. Now I'm wondering which skin type could benefit from this foundation!!! Hope you're doing well, 💞💞

I'm actually not surprised you had that experience. This formula made my skin go into overdrive to produce more oil, more oil than ever produced with other Foundations. I actually got a small glimpse into what it's like having oily skin. It's an uphill battle throughout the day combating that oil production🤷♀️ It definitely is an interesting formula.. thanks for sharing how it worked for your skin🙌❤ Very helpful.

Even tho my oils came thru it still looked slightly cakey and super dry at the end of the day. I am shocked she released 2 sort of matte formulas knowing how much she loves glowing dewy skin? I have yet to ever find a foundation that stayed on my nose. Although some have said the good apple, is an excellent foundation for the nose. I don't know why maybe it's because, I'm always blowing my nose. But even when I'm not. And I purposely check myself no touching the nose. Face must stay on. Carefully using tissues not to disturb and blow my nose. Still foundation falls off my nose. If I use any products to cut back any oil production. Oh it drives me out. I would rather have myself oily than not. But foundations are like yeah no see you later. Every time I want to try the Apple foundation, they're out of a light shade that I need. With that said I should check.
Not fond of this foundation from the review. I much preferred the Nars one. So much so that I bought it. And love it. Thank you for your always thorough reviews!
I like this foundation with a matte primer (Supergoop Matte Screen), and you’re right about not using a lot, but I think it looks beautiful. However, like you said it’s the longevity- it’s not there. So I’ll wear this foundation if I know I’ll have it on for 6 or so hours but no more than that.
Tara! Have you ever tried the Era Face Aerobrush foundation? I HIGHLY recommend it, I find it soooo amazing but I don't see a lot of people talking about. If you end up trying it please make sure you get the original "Era FACE" and not the "Era Everyday" since they are different.
I have dry skin I bought it and it looks and stays great with a great primer I used a mattyfying primer in my tZone and a smoothing primer and it looks amazing so you should test it… it is a great everyday makeup I also applied it with my hand… I do think it looks good on you… I used fenty bronzer and Kosas bronzer it looked awesome 😎
This is one of the few foundations without glycerin for me and so far, my skin is doing good with it! I might be in minority but I do love this foundation

Honestly, the studio lighting defeats the purpose of any foundation or complexion product review. Natural lighting is the way to go! Pro MUA tip use a sponge on dry/normal skin, especially after any exfoliation, as brushes will only exacerbate the exfoliation.
If only I'd worn sunscreen every day and didn't perpetually frown, I might have such smooth skin as you. I know it's your job to keep an eye out for what you notice with the foundation, but you look great ☺️

I don't understand why people don't put a self tanner on their face. wearing foundation that is darker than your face to match your body always makes everyone look orange.
Thanks for the review. Have you tried it with NO primer amd just using your regular moisturizer alone, allowing it to sit for just a few mins before you put on Yummy? I'm actually trying g it for the first time tonight. I work a 12 hr shift. I'm hoping it works. For me just using foundation alone is better then with a primer. I have normal combo dry skin (drier on cheeks).

It was 12W. 😁 My skin is a little lighter after my chemical peel, but as soon as my color comes back, it will definitely be a perfect shade. I really love the shade. I want to find a way to make this foundation work because it's such a great shade😁❤
Last year I bought her first foundation. I had to buy two colours to mix. I hated it. It never dried down and it emphasizes all the bits you don't want noticeable. It wasn't a sophisticated formula at all. I'm oily skin so it was a big mistake to purchase. I threw it away two months ago lol
I asked jena on Marco if she liked it and she said she struggled with it, so i was happy to hear i wasn't the only one. The reviews on Sephora people are loving it. But it just wasn't the foundation for me🤷♀️ Love Jena, she and I have gotten so close and after losing Mel, I am so grateful we found each other through the sadness and we were there for each other🙏 She's incredibly smart and such a beautiful person, inside and out❤❤❤

The makeup is designed for people of color and also runway look like a Naomi Campbell. I don't think the makeup is designed for you no pun intended. But it's a model runway looking makeup and you're not that model runway look you're the standard American look. So I don't think it's made for you. And you don't wear it 12 hours no one wears make up 12 hours
I think you absolutely used too much. You should use the primer on your entire face and use HALF the amount you used that you used for just ONE side for your whole face and blend it with your brush first and then tap with your sponge

Even had a fancy machine at the Estee Lauder counter tell me that😁 Right now, my skin is a few shades lighter than it normally is because I just had a chemical peel 2 weeks ago, which lightened it a bit. So right now I'm Medium, but the 2nd i get in the sun, my skin darkens to tan. But you're right, I definitely wear fake tan in the winter and spring😁 And when I wear fake tan I don't want my face several shades lighter than my neck. Thanks for watching.
