On Wednesday, we’re discussing Black voters who were targeted with anti-Hillary Clinton ads on Facebook during Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign, plus the power of your vote and the influence of social media.
When you are a daytime show with a myriad of viewers, you must talk about politics dispassionately. All I see is them bashing President Trump while upholding Biden irrespective of what Biden does. That's called partiality and bias instead of opting for impartiality and respect
All of these women did a great job at explaining the facts of what’s going on, and with their opinions!! Loni did AMAZING!! 😍😍 & she just keeps looking more beautiful with every episode!! ♥️♥️🥰 Great job laddies!!
I go to school in Grenada, WI and the country as a whole has a population of about 115,000. Yet the day of the national election, EVERYTHING was closed during voting hours, so that everyone could vote. Like even the hospitals were running different shifts so that medical professionals could go and vote. When I tell you the American students were completely stunned just to realize how this country was doing this compared to how people can't even vote for lack of time off, like we have A LOT to change people.
This is a REAL conversation. No where does it says a conversation is required to have all view points involved. There are plenty other places to get a more well-rounded political commentary.
They had Tamara but I don't think she wanted to discuss her political views because she had fears of being hated and getting backlash. Too bad because I'm a huge fan of hers along with her sister, Tia, even though a registered Democrat. I really do think Tamara is a conservative but she has that "I want folks to like me" attitude, specifically the black community to like her.
Voter suppression is nothing new. Especially here in Georgia and they have been doing this for years. It is a way to discourage people from voting. No matter what we must VOTE!
Thank you ladies. People really let these folks brainwash them into thinking their vote doesn't matter. Just ask yourself, why are those same teachers that told you your vote doesn't matter still voting. On another note Ade is GORGEOUS!!!! 🥰🥰
I love that loni is always so well informed, in all of the talks this season about politics she sounds like a patriot and someone who still believes in what this country was founded on I love that all hope is not lost! Also after watching the debate I wonder if people will be less likely to vote, it sounded like two recently divorced people arguing over custody and I refuse to be a child in that and allow two people to earn their pride at my expense hopefully it works out...
Every time I hear someone say this is not America I have to laugh, this is exactly what America is and has been since its inception... suppression, oppression and depression
Michelle Alexander wrote an article "Why Hillary Clinton Does Not Deserve the Black Vote." I don't think black people's votes for Hillary were "suppressed." Give them CREDIT for deciding not to vote for a candidate simply because they might not want to!
I think it would be more interesting of this show was politically diverse. Would be nice to have a black female conservative/independent voter on there because I personally feel like there is no point for a show to discuss politics unless they have many different voices.
The video and sound quality is so much better. Everything is clearer and seems professional as if they have a camera man filming each of them as opposed to using webcams.
Most definitely. However, they seem to be saying that there was a new method the Trump campaign employed in swing states (not red or blue states). Apparently, the Trump campaign specifically harvested private or demographic information about particular people (black people, young women, and "idealistic" white voters). Then the campaign sent them ads on their individual Facebook timelines that both discouraged them from voting for Hillary and did not encourage them to vote for Trump. That is what makes this unusual. There was a targeted campaign towards individuals and, unlike typical campaign ads, the ad wasn't actively trying to recruit or sway the audience to vote for their candidate, i.e., Trump.
Anybody who is NOT... I repeat not a fool... could tell you this... it’s ridiculous that we have come to it being 2020 where this man has the possibility of winning again... if our vote did not matter , why the hell do both parties when it comes down to the nitty gritty always try to talk to the black community SPECIFICALLY black female voters at that... so I need people to stop complaining and saying who they won’t support and that we have come to a discussion of where both candidates aren’t good leaders... meanwhile rather need to focus on the lesser of two evils... we have a president who LAST NIGHT DID NOT CONDEMN WHITE SUPREMACY... so if situations like this in regards to the vile and outrageous crazy things this current administration has brought tot he forefront don’t remind you that your vote is important... then what else is there to convince you !!! GO TO THOSE DAMN POLLS !!
That's why Lil Wayne and cube supports Trump because of the Platinum plan plus all the other policies Trump signed years ago that benefit the black community
Voter suppression is a serious problems that impacts minority communities and working class individuals as well. People should not have to wait in lines for 5+ hours only to be turned away when trying to vote in the US. This is a bipartisan issue as studies have shown that the more people in general that vote the less likely a Republican will be elected. With all that said NO ONE is entitled to your vote. Just because someone voted for Obama doesn't mean that they have to vote for HRC. Yes the black community is a solid and reliable voting block for Democrats but we shouldn't be taken advantage of or taken for granted. We need to start using our vote productively and making demands that will better our community. None of this 'If you don't vote for me you ain't black"- Biden nonsense. Black people like everyone else have our own minds, beliefs etc. we aren't all the same so stop treating us like a monolith....end rant
I don’t know why Black people complain about this. Biden said what he said and he is right. Have you seen the Danes that black Trump supporters are called? Coons and the like. Yet Latinos are massively diverse in the views. Like Biden said. He didn’t lie. It’s like people lack nuanced thinking. Like you said we are not all the same. But as soon as you have an original thought, you get attacked...by your own people. Being black is not the only thing that defines me, or any other black person. Let’s stop treating each other like it does.
@@a.sydney5036 your comment contradicts itself a few times...not sure what the point was....you say "Biden said what he said and he is right."..(that black people are not diverse).."being black is not the only thing that defines me, or any other black person."
@@Pookie515 I said what I said. You chose not to comprehend it because that’s what is more convenient. White people expect blacks to vote Blue, so do Black people. No nuance is expected, hence when people see black Trump supporters they lose their minds. When in fact that assumption itself is racist. Black people shouldn’t be expected to move the same solely on the basis of race. We are not all the same.
The fact that people can be easily targeted shows we are also into the wrong as well to believing this I am not condoning what facebook did, the main point is if an ad says i will make you rich in 5 months time- its upto you to believe if its true or not And yes Lonnie is on point!!!!! The ballot paper scenerio damn!!!!!
People should be smart enough and strong enough to make their own decisions, and not be persuaded . Also, maybe the blacks didn’t want to vote for Trump OR Hillary. I’m tired of people talking about black people like they’re weak. If they didn’t vote maybe it’s because they didn’t want either of them, and that was the decision THEY were okay with.
People always say America is the best and a democratic society and a place to have your say and make change..... Well it’s sounding a lot like the Middle East where I’m from....
