Thank you! It's a valid question! You have to select the server/map you want and then launcher start to download the mods (map included) automatically. You can use the official launcher (there's a vid in my channel on how to do it) cheers!

Not too much. You played when it was the biggest trailblazing game in the world. Dayz died in 2018 when it became just a spin off game, nothing like the original game. Still ok to play, just not that great anymore as it used to be.

i would love to play a good population Pripyat server. Have been interested in this map for a long time but dont play it because the only ones i have seen are bloated with mods or low pop..

Well, a detailed map is really a lot of work and just the size and square-kilometres do not automatically make a good looking and interesting map. Personally, I would be more interested in how many hours of work were invested in a particular map.

I also spent most of my DayZ life in Chernarus and Chernarus wasn't even completely built yet and many areas were still empty and some villages in the north weren't even built back then. I've read before that there are now good mods for DayZ, but I didn't realise that there were already so many maps and particularly excellent mods.

Ain't that the truth. The maps are just too small. Now if someone came up with a way to seamlessly put the maps together while playing so that you could (in theory) walk forever, that would be incredibl.

To really play alone without other players (or just trusted friends) you have to rent your own server and then put a password on it and install the mods the way you want. I'm not sure if you can play DayZ completely offline already without a server just like ArmA.

you can play it solo and set up your own LAN server with mods and spawn rates of loot to your liking There is vids on youtube on how to do it
