When using the crying dance, I think you can use your souls to attack after the first 2 attacks of the crying dance not before. Edit: You can defeat level 3 of stein in one round if you have epic healing ammunation and use all your abilites.
Ngl my feelings upon this set are quite mixed. It's something in between Anibot and KOS but I'm quite uncertain. If it didn't has stun upon shadow moves Anibot would be beating it easily, although I still think it will perform better against an okay fighter bosses unless they won't be as spamming as this one. On the other hand, DF clearly loses to KOS and Hound on raids as it's more about abilities spam than damage. I'd say DF is a better version of Widow set.
