My thoughts exactly mate, pick up my Defender SE P400 very shortly had a disco sport and put 375,000kms on it, no problems hence no hard decision to get the defender this time
Bought my "green bulldog" (90 V6 Diesel 3.0 200hp) 3 month ago. Driving a friend's 110 on a regular base: I love my 90 bulldog. It's so much more agile than the 110 (with the same motor). I don't miss the lenght of the 5 meter vehicle. Finally: What such a amazing car! (no matter what length 😁). Regards, Ron fom Munich
I have the P400 , 12,000 miles driving the absolute best vehicle I’ve ever owned!! Great review but are you aware that you actually have dynamic mode and it’s absolutely amazing!! Just move the shifter to the left …. Try it , you will love it !!!
Glad to hear, I love the vehicle as well. Thanks! Yes, it totally slipped the mind at the time. So used to the rotary on my SVR and I never think to engage it in the Defender. Will give it a go more often. Thanks for watching!
Been thinking about buying one but hesitate after hearing a lot of owner's complaints about mechanical, software and fit & finish problems. Meanwhile, there are also lots of happy owners. So, have you bumped into any issues that you have to go back to dealer for repair so far? Thanks!
Thanks for tuning in! Truth be told, I’ve had no issues between either the mechical or fit and finish concerns. The only issue I’ve run into was an early software glitch that didn’t allow the sound to come through the radio/Apple car play would not connect. A software update quickly patched the problem and have not had any since. Overall, it’s been a great experience in a truly capable package.
Fit and finish problems, never herd of them in a decade with any LR product. Compared to what ? Have you seen any Fords lately ? Or Tesla ? You can put your fingers in the gaps they have . Other issues , for sure, like any other brand lately. My hilux, the "indestructible" drinks 12l of Adblue ( EDF in US ) in 4000k km, dealers tell me it is in the normal range...IN Australia they have a class action suit against Toyota for the 2.8 diesel engine.. All companies have issues. On another note, I ordered the P300 base spec with all the off road and safety options, it came at a decent price. In Europe, the defender base spec has almost all the option that one of the top trims Landcruiser Prado has, and with better engines and a competitive price. For me there is nothing else to chose. I took a wrangler unlimited on the Highway and after 30 min I wanted to abandon it on the side of the road, I did not want to make the trip back to the dealer. There is nothing more tiring driving long distance than constant wining and noises.. A G-wagon is out of my reach. For me this combination of on road manners and comfort , and off road capability has no direct competition, there is nothing else out there. If you buy it as a luxury vehicles, top trims, situation changes. In Europe the only direct competition would be the Landcruiser Prado, but there you only have 1 diesel engine that sucks, on a 11 year old platform. and that is it. I have a Hilux Pick-up, got it for camping trips/overlanding, capable off road but it sucks on long distance drives. I need something that can do 2000 km in comfort, be able to take some off road abuse and a decent payload. This fits perfectly for me. Nice review, this captures the gist of the new Defender perfectly - top off road capability in a comfortable and luxurious package.
