New Display Boards! | Create Mod .5 Update News 

I'm kinda mainly hoping for a train overhaul because of how janky carriage contraptions are at the moment, but also new power generation would be really nice

I love how the text dynamically changes, instead of instantly changing when getting new info. It looks really cool!

Just a bit of info... Those boards shown in the gifs are called "Flap panels" in real life. They are commonly found in airports and trainstations... So kinda fitting that the first gif shows one used for a trainstation :D

I think you'll find that that was the _Hype_ Train, not the Hypertrain. Also, something funky is happening in the final clip - there's a big cogwheel sitting on top of the flipboard display, which would be overlapping with the inbuilt small cogwheels of the display itself - I have no idea what that could mean, but it's odd.

At this point create has so much content it could be a standalone game

So excited for the new update! Based off the fact it was reading trains on the first clip, with it eventually showing "Full Steam" as the name for the update I'm inclined to believe it's gonna be a train overhaul. Though new power would be pretty cool I can't think of how it'd be implemented yet. Steam kind of feels like it'd just be an encased fan over magma block alternative unless they added something similar to a waterwheel for it, which would be interesting to see.

The flip boards are such a "Create-y" thing to have in game and suits the obsolete tech style of the mod to a "T". Taking the names of famous trains such as The Golden Arrow and the Flying Scot, albeit with a minecraft twist, is also a nice touch. (So the Endermen are the Minecraft equivalent of the Scottish? I can get behind that .;) ). As for the "reciever" device which you dubbed, I would dare say that is actually a solenoid, the "pulse" on the indicator bulb being from when the theoretical armature inside the copper coil shown on the housing moves as an item passes through the device the solenoid is attached to. Solenoids themselves were invented in the 1820s, so I'm led to believe, and the wooden housing, sickly green light and exposed coils certainly would fit all the apparent tick boxes to have it suit this mod. With all this in mind, perhaps there is to be a turn to non-binary or qualitative information being transmitted wirelessly, rather than just the basic "on-off" devices that Create currently offers? It also begs the question of whether the flip board itself is merely a "monitor", in that it is just relaying information passed to it by a central processor like a "difference engine" (which would be amazing, seriously, look it up), or the flip board itself is a computer terminal of some description. As of yet, however, we are yet to see any themes of steam power being drawn from what we have seen besides the tentative link of the trains on the departure board (while one can argue that trains = steam, with the contemporary view one would find that is most certainly not the case to most commuters' and regular railway travellers' relief). Perhaps it is too early to speculate on the direction the developers are taking?

Rip polartt, Gone but not forgotten…

I'm placing my bet on a power generation overhaul. In its current state just one flywheel can power about every create build, and not in a very exciting way mind you. Create is clearly embracing this steampunky, 19th century industrial vibe with its aesthetic and design philosophy. Perhaps from now on our Spinning jennys and even trains will be powered by steam!

I really hope the update gets added to the Above and Beyond Modpack, it would be incredible to see what the displays can do together with computercraft

Fun fact, Golden arrow is a real locomotive, also the Flying Enderman is in reference to the LNER class a3 Flying Scotsman locomotive as well

it has been nice seeing how exited yall are. I am also very exited to use these to their full potential with other mods

I really hope we get a train overall. Trains and transportation are my favorite things about the create mod.

I think the rightmost numbers on the train displays are actually the platform the train will be arriving on

6:14, I think it’s a portal supplying the main tank with lava using a contraption like people like doing in CAaB.

The way they do updates reminds me a lot of how the Satisfactory devs do theirs

Dude, every new global update of create mod gets me in shock. I was excited about tubes update last time and now there are coming again new cool things like these monitors! I really like how devs work at that mod.

I know create is known for cart contraptions, but I really hope this adds some railcraft-esque carts. The contraptions don't really fit to minecraft's rails for anything "nice" looking...

Something else I noticed is the tunnels in the first clip! More items enter the tunnels than leave them, so I assume they are being gathered into stacks of 64 or something similar. They are also glass. Was that always an option, or is it new?

6:05 is it my imagination or that cog looks a bit darker, like a iron/steel cog, by any chance?

Adding a new power source would be Nice,or even sopetging like an anti-gravity block,redstone or mechanical controls for flying around.imagine an engine for this,but it would make something of a tardis sound when functioning.

When the boards come out first thing i will make is how much Rickrolls are happening in irl time,i know it doesnt really sound possible but i will try it!

You missed the conveyer in the 2nd clip. It was a single conveyer that went up and down. Not 2 separate ones. It looks really smooth and fitting too

I would love a overhaul on the whole cart system maybe add new mine cart types and make power sources be put on carts idk so many possibilities

6:15 I'm pretty sure this is just a cold ocean. You can see see a streak of white which seems like the shoreline, and the ocean temperature would match the cold taiga biome :p

Most people want x technical feature that optimizes the fun out of the game, but honestly I love the decorative and building content more. I left the discord actually because the technical nerds were starting to get on my nerves.
