I love these cages but what's the point if you don't bond with them? I do call bull on cage aggression. Yes they can be territorial but if you take the time to build a bond and have them trust you there shouldn't be an issue. I've worked with many rabbits with behavior problems. My biggest rescue being an aggressive male rabbit who wouldn't even let me near him for two months and yet here we are a year later and he allows me to fully enter and interact with everything in his room, jumps in my lap and arms, follows me around and takes naps on or next to me. It's a different story when it comes to others but since I've taken the time to teach him he can trust me there is no issue. These pens are gorgeous and give me some great ideas for the future! Thank you for that! I also,never thought of using those floor mats as flooring for my buns. I think that is an absolutely wondrful idea and I love the tile on the top of the shelves!

Our rabbit has gotten aggressive when we were too busy after our house fire, but the kids got him all right again. They bring him out and the last time he peed on my seat! Lol This room is twice the size of a show rabbit friend I have, and she has 8x the rabbits. Lol And they get plenty of live, there's no aggression whatsoever. Handled all the time, and have lots of ribbons (and ventilation and an air purifier if you were curious). Some ppl like to have pets or kids just so they can look at them. Take them down from the shelf to brag or whatever, but put them back up when they're tired of the interaction. Better for ppl to do it to animals over children tho. ;)

she does bond with them just not in their cage she lets them out and plays with them but they should have their own space unless they are free roam bunnies!

I was confused about that too. The only time my bunnies were "cage aggressive" was when I didn't handle the often or show them enough attention. And I've had 5 rabbits in my lifetime(among other animals).

@maegutierrez8666

I definitely think there’s cage aggression in some rabbits. I rescued my male rabbit when he was a baby and he was the sweetest thing in the world, i had him basically free roam in my room for a while after I got him because I hadn’t had the thingns to make his cage, but as soon as I made his cage he immediately started to grunt and lunge at my hands and things in his cage. I don’t blame him but at the same time he is not neutered. And this all started at around the 5 month mark. So it might just be that in her bunnies but I could be wrong.
@teresa8369
@teresa8369 6 лет назад
I understand having a lot of space is great for rabbits but for a fun happy environment, especially since you don't interact with them, they are definitely bored and require more activities within their cage. I don't know the pen is awesome it's just empty

@logankimball2472
@logankimball2472 6 лет назад
Splash Vlogs they are domestic rabbits nothing is natural to them but what we give them. In the wild they don't sleep in straw or sawdust. They sleep in dirt. Fleece is more hygienic, doesn't produce dust and much more cost effective. You can replace the fleece as it gets soiled but typically the rabbits have a litter box they use rather than using the fleece. But the fleece can be removed and replaced and washed. Much cheaper and you can customize the look. It's not natural for them to be in pens and fed pellets or drink from bottles and bowls. Y'all need to jump off that high horse. Seriously.

Cage aggression is common but can be cleared up with training. Putting a board up might make it easier to feed and water her but won’t fix the problem. Also because she’s a Netherland X it’s common to be in her breed as well.

RC Hobbyist Extreme that is true do to their nature, however I’ve raised rabbits for years and I know what I’m talking about. But yes you’re right about the female part however doesn’t mean if you get a female they are going to be like that. X
@scottfirman
@scottfirman 6 лет назад
hamsterloverforever1 I understand what you are saying. Since my wife insisted on putting her hands in bunnys house,I stressed that we get a male,as I researched the fact males are better at handling home invasion than females. We noticed this with my daughter's female bunny. We have a male and he has no issue with her playing with his toys,moving things. The fact we now have grandchildren now also made me decide a male may be a better choice. Some rabbits behave differently than others too. I researched the Holland lop as thats the breed we chose. The fact we are not experiencing an agressive bunny proves the facts,at least for us.

My bunny is aggressive towards other bunnies cause she is jealous and wants to be the only bunny in the house, getting my attention. She gets along fine with other animals, she literally grew up with a baby turkey. Not hate, but that's not really a cage... Cage sounds like something more or less portable... but that's like a whole rabbit mansion lol I had a rabbit. She came in a small guinea pig cage, then I got a larger guinea pig cage, then a large dog carrier for her, and soon after that I left the carrier in the back veranda with carrier door open. So basically, she only sleeps in it, and roamed on the veranda. BUT that wasn't it, she wanted more space, so eventually I opened the back door, and let her roam in the yard; and she will come to the veranda to eat and sleep in the carrier. Rabbits are very smart animals. There's no way to win the little game they play on you, that's why I don't get myself involve with rabbits anymore haha

ooXChrissieXoo Your Rabbit shouldn't live alone.
@ooXChrissieXoo
@ooXChrissieXoo 6 лет назад
Sure, don't keep rabbit alone in the cage. Rabbit can be quite like dog or cat that hangs out around you if you are confident enough to let it roam free. It is a lot of work but it can work. I had 1 dog, 3 cats and 5 chickens, and the rabbit was friend with most of them, just not quite the rooster. She loved the cats, and they hang out with me while I work. Eventually she grew up, put on some weight, and was allowed to go into the yard. There are snakes and possibly python in the yard so I didn't let her roam free in the yard before she's big enough. But I got her from my neighbor next door anyway so she went to hang out with his rabbits. The vet spayed her so that didn't cause any rabbit issue. The guy close the rabbit pen in the evening, and he take my rabbit out so she just comes back with the cats. The cats are indoor/outdoor cats. One of my cats, because he came as a kitten after I got the rabbit so he sleeps with the rabbit. I think animals hang out with what they grew up with really. You may argue if it is ethical to confuse animals with their own species, but on the level of happiness, I think they tend to adjust and communicate just fine. None of my hens lay egg in their own nest. In fact, all of them lay eggs in 1 same spot and that's where my dog sleeps LOL It was convenient eggs for me, but I never figured out why.
@kmundwiller3936
@kmundwiller3936 6 лет назад
I think it's great your rabbit free ranged. But that would scare the bejeezus out of me. Lol But maybe that's cause my mom made me take our rabbit out in an unfenced yard, and after he grazed, I had to chase the damn thing down! Free range in a bunny tractor maybe! Lol I not fast like that anymore! Lol
@ooXChrissieXoo
@ooXChrissieXoo 6 лет назад
Yeah definitely, I doubt I would let her roam free if I didn't have the cats, but she was definitely part of the cat gang. There's that bond between them, and I was confident enough to let her go out with them. They aren't together all the time, but neither are all the cat together at the same time. They meet up once in a while through out the day, and they venture off to their own business, of course they don't hang out too far from the house. They don't have any fancy wifi gadget, but they know most of the time where to find each other. Spay/neuter pets plus me working from home made all the difference. But yeah I bet without the cats, I better have some fast legs lol

Lea Billa That's actually very incorrect. Rabbits are like cats. They decide whether like you or not and sometimes they do and sometimes they don't. They may he very cuddly but most of the time they barely want attention other than being able to explore and being fed. Rabbits also do not need other rabbits. Now in this case she obviously knows what she's doing. She's explained before why these rabbits can't be together. They don't get along.

My bunny loved when people came into his cage he would be all cuddly. He didn’t like being alone so we let him with our dogs once in a while (the dogs are golden retrievers and they love him and get along so well) and he laid and played with them all the time and hated going back in his cage. Then in the summer we made him a huge cage where he could go into the grass. There was a large covered area and large uncovered area that were connected. When he was in their I could tell he was upset because he had no one with him (he wasn’t eating and would just lay in the same spot without moving)so we just brought him inside again and he quickly became happy and healthy. So I find it weird that your bunnies don’t like you in there space.

@torijones2299

Also use straw in the bottom of the pens they will not eat it but if you but straw with alfalfa hay mixed in with it it's a good place for them to hide and lay in and they will have lots of nutrients because of the alfalfa, it will be a lot more comfortable for them, I've realized you like the way it looks more than you care about comfort

Tori Jones She lined the cages with pattern mats, memory foam and fleece. Its super comfy for them. Thats what I changed my late rabbit to when he got sore hock, it was reccomended by my vet and he healed perfectly along with treatment.

Lulu was bonded to Mocha for a LONG time... but Mocha died... both buns are quite senior. Sterling was bonded to Belle but Belle died... she was fairly old. Ebony used to live with Lulu and Mocha but Ebony had anxiety issues living with them and eating issues and territorial issues... Ebony is happier away from Lulu. Lulu and Sterling don't get along.

Also think the way you're feeding Ebony is great, Willow had a lot of cage aggression when I got her and while she's calmed down with Duncan and I, when friends care for them I've been told she does grunt and box them. LOL

I can see a lot of comments here that aren't very nice. I have giant bunnies and I can say that your bunny room is fantastic! They seem happy and comfortable. Some bunnies prefer to be by themselves in they room and some can be territorials, it doesn't mean that you are doing something wrong. Oliviavs Liv I have a bunny that doesn’t like to be held or touched and one that’s cage aggressive. Sometimes if you have the room you can just sit or lay in a room with them and slowly gain trust with them. Let them feel you out and slowly start introducing you picking them up and putting them in their cage rather than taking them out multiple times to try to train them because that’s their safe space.
