New DIY Trash to Treasure Thrift Store Project Flips 2023

In this episode, we're going to flip some thrift store items into beautiful diy home decor! First, we'll take a silver urn that is badly tarnished and give it new life using an IOD mould and some paint! I'll also give you some display tips on how you can display your items at a Vintage Market, as well. Then we'll take a birdcage that had faded flowers in it and totally make it over into something brand new by giving it a French Country twist. Oh and I almost forgot...can we make our own black wax? I like the black wax on the floral parts of the vase, but not around the mold. It just looks like someone did a bad paint job on it. But it looks great on the raised parts. LOVE the birdcage makeover!!!

I think if you used a old cloth rag the wax would go on better than a paper towel...just by experience ...they work better...love your videos...can't wait till your store opens...

When you first started to work on the Birdcage, I thought -"Not sure about the Plate"? But it ALL came together sooooooo WELL!!!! That's what I get for questioning you!!!! I have seen people use a rolling pin to flatten the clay on a piece of wax paper or parchment paper with cornstarch on it and roll the balls out and then place on mold. Then apply glue to back of mold after you trim off edges, if it needs trimming.

Love! ❤️ The chicken bird cage would look even cuter with some little yellow flowers tucked in around her on the bottom. Looking a little bit plain on that part. The rest of it is great! Hi Pamela! I'm so glad you loved the birdcage project! Yes, I thought the burlap would be perfect for the backing! I'm glad you thought so, too!!! OH, yes...the URNS!!! Do you remember what an eyesore they were?!?!? HEE HEE. Pamela....thank you for saying you love my videos!!! I really means a lot to me!!! It's comments like that, that make me want to make more videos!!! Oh and yes, I hope my ankle heals fast!!! I couldn't be worse timing with my grand opening being one week away from Saturday! I recreated your bird cage. I had an old jewelry bird cage that I was going to donate and when I saw what you did…yup out of the donation box. Since I was donating I am giving it away to the manager at Dollar Tree for a going away gift. Im there so much they have become my friends,lol. Thank you for the idea.❤

CONGRADS ON YOUR NEW SHOP OPENING. SAVE SPRAY PAINT BY REMOVING THE ORIGINAL CAP ON THE CAN N REPLACE IT WITH THE NOZEL FROM A CAN OF WD 40 AFTER IT HAS BEEN WASHED N DRIED.. IT SAVES LOTS OF PAINT.

Yes, that is the BEST way to use those moulds!!! Pop them in the freezer for 10-15 minutes and the pieces come out absolutely PERFECT when you pop them out of the mould!!! I'm so glad you found that helpful!!! XOXO

Me, too....I still can't believe I broke my ankle and just a week and a half before the grand opening!!!! Such bad timing!!! OH well...there's nothing I can do about it!!! Luckily, I have some great family and friends that are willing to help!!! Anyway, I'm happy to hear that I'm on your bucket list!!! YAY!!!
