I do commercial work and having a quieter Phantom 4Pro with a much more reliable video transmission system using Ocusync is worth the upgrade at $1499 to me. Yes, I would have loved it if DJI released the Phantom 5 or the Mavic Pro 2.0 with a 1” sensor, but even the small improvements are great considering I fly in urban areas with a lot of RF interference and having the low latency and reliability of ocusync NOW... is all I need in order to decide to buy this now rather than wait for P5 or the Mavic Pro 2.. Plus my original P4 Pro is now my backup drone...

Seems like you are one of the first reviewers of this drone. Great! But, I would expect a more scientifically approach. How about using a DB-meter to compare old and new propellers on the 2.0 version. And comparing v2.0 with the old P4P. And the new propellers on a P4P versus the old. How much more flighttime do you get on the new v.2.0 compared to the old? And a distance test to check out Ocusync...

We must not have watched the same video. If you had read anything on the V2.0 you should have already known. However, he covered the differences, and other than those differences it is EXACTLY THE SAME so there would be no reason to go over the Phantom 4...if you want to know about the Phantom 4 then go to another RU-vid and watch it. The 3 upgrades, which he went over, are: upgraded propulsion, quieter....better transmission.....and connect to goggles wirelessly...everything else is exactly the same...He did a great job!

They need to add speakers where you can play music on the Phantom and where you can say HI to people around you, the Phantom o ready has speakers for the startup sound so we need to be able to play music on them. That would be cool. I have a pill attached to mine and you have no idea how much attention it gets.

Hi folks, why haven't they changed? In France, the S2 scenario which allows flight out of sight, requires an independent circuit breaker, unless the design of the drone dates from 2017 ... which is the case of the phantom 4 pro v2

I'm not going back to bulky drones like this. But if you're new to DJI get the Phantom 3 Pro instead. With savings buy batteries and bag or DJI insurance.

The props are a minor factor in the new noise levels. The sine wave ESCs are the main source of quieter, less whiny sound. Nothing to say about a 1" sensor camera?

The controller actually has a big upgrade with the new ocusync system! And the holes at the bottom aren't speakers it's the vent to cool the new ocusync system!

Yes, I'm also Very interested in the compatiblity of both the Racing, Original white DJI Goggles and the Phantom version of Occusync? Does it have all the same great features, like head tracking the Camera gimbal, 30 degrees up, sideways and 90 down? That would be an Excellent upgrade, to tie the Phantom series in with the Goggle's wireless functionality . I Love taking Friends and Family for a Fly, with them wearing the DJI Goggles and enjoying them controlling what they look at through the Mavic PRO's camera. Thanks for all your excellent, entertaining and timely Reviews.

I'm getting it cause I was just about to buy the phantom 4 pro obsidion but they stopped making cause of the new update so I had to waite for this to come out. I think it was pretty good idea that they finally updated it to be up to date with the modern drones. Especially when this drone is more expensive.

As of 20 May 2018, did you know it also does not work with the current Crystal Sky? They have failed to update the Crystal Sky software . I have spoken to DJI and they confirmed it does not work but they have no timeframe to fix the problem !

This I just like what they did with mavic platinum. Release something small before they release some thing big. I’m the case of the mavic, it was the Mavic Air. In this case, it might be Phantom 5.

Hey, this is great, but a lot of filmmakers often shot their footage flat, as DJI's in-camera default sharpness isn't very pleasing to the eye. I think this review would have been a little more dynamic if you got flat footage of their D-Cinelike, with saturation, color, and sharpness at zero, and compared to other footage of different models that why we can get a deeper look at just how much different the camera is. Also when you unsharpen it in settings, you tend to actually get out more detail.

I'd guess so since it's an opening... Probably makes sense that the sound would reverberate through the vent. They certainly could have moved the speaker though.

No worthwhile improvements but this review sure has a lot of positives(awsome, perfect, amazing) for nearly the same product as the p4p. At least the controller has speakers to vent off hot noise.

With the Mavic 2 series, moving your head with the goggles on can make the camera pan and tilt. Does this also happen with the goggles on the Phantom 4 Pro V2.0?

Nice review, but "autonomy" is the wrong word. Use "Flight Time" or "flight range" and it will make more sense. Think of the V2 as a year model change for the same price. Nice additions for no extra money (MSRP), I like it. The primary message is, don't by the old version, although there may be some blowout prices to get rid of the old stuff.
