Bold lips are surprisingly wearable when you get used to seeing yourself in them! I wear berry lips ALL the time, and I'm ultra fair so they're bold on me. Still, I love them!
I love a berry lip. Actually I need a medium tone at least. Otherwise, the lighter tones fade into my fair skin and give me a weird, lipless look. lol I love cool rosy pinks, berries, plums, and reds. Definitely a cool toned gal here. lol
The absolute chokehold that the Tarteist matte lip paint had on me back in 2015. Haha. Glad to see the liquid lipsticks are back in style with better formulas.
As a red lip wearer on the regular, try wearing a red shade you love and apply with your fingertips. Build up the color as much as you like or wear it blurred. For an evening out, use a favorite neutral lip liner (I never use red) and apply a layer, blot, apply, and blot again. My go to faves are Dior Reds, Maybelline Vinyl reds, and Tell Laura from Charlotte Tilbury. With red in the summer keep it about minimal eyes and bronzed skin. In Spring play up the blush to match the boldness of your lips. Good luck! 😘💋💋
Besame Cosmetics reds are fabulous, too! The lipstick bullet is designed so that there is a thin flat edge across the top that you can use as a lip liner. Do the blot/reapply/blot technique and they will wear all day. My faves are Dusty Rose, Cherry Red, Victory Red, Red Velvet, Blood Red, and American Beauty. Dusty Rose is a great everyday shade, very soft and wearable.

I've never liked traditional liquid lipsticks, but I do like the mousse-y, soft matte formulas from Nyx and Kaleidos. Those aren't transfer-proof and don't last all day, but they're so much more comfortable and the effect is much more attractive overall.

I didn't think there was much of a demand for those anymore. I would be interested to see lip swatches of the new Haus Labs Le Monster Crayon shades in neutrals
Love the lip swatches! Keep um coming! My favorite shade is 160 vibe 😍 as far as the lip trends go, I was never comfortable in a liquid lip. I’ve tried a couple of Dose of Colors liquid lips but it emphasized my lip lines and rubbed off patchy so I never went back to liquid lipsticks in general. Red lips are definitely out my comfort zone and I wanna get more comfortable with them too but it’s something I need to ease my way into it. My mother-in-law gifted me a beautiful red lipstick from Lancôme but I rarely touched it because it was intimidating to me. Anytime I wore it, I would blot it off significantly 😅 I’m definitely the type of person who loves pinky or brow nudes and I need to ease myself into bright, loud colors. I definitely have grown an obsession with anything terracotta especially lip colors ever since KL recommended the Burt’s Bees blush in Toasted Cinnamon. Bite Beauty’s (RIP) lipstick in the shade Harissa is my ultimate favorite. So if I were to check any of these Mililani liquid lips out in a bold red 190 We Stan is as bold as I’ll go 😆
You mentioned you want to be more like people to wear a signature lip regularly, I think it’s fitting that main character is your fav shade because I definitely think a bold pink lip could be your signature!!
I just discovered these lipsticks.. I love them. they stay on SO long. Applied one this morning, went to my grandson's 1 year birthday party - ate, drank a selzer water (out of a can), got home, and there was still color on my lips. And my lips are very pale normally. I like to put gloss on over these (and the color still lasts for hours). so pretty. I like these better than lip stains - which seem to disappear after an hour or so. cleaning out some old makeup - so i'm so glad I found these. Thank you so much for swatching all of them.

Allie, something I would really really love to see from you is a tutorial/wear test for makeup that someone could wear with a mask on. I know that for many people the pandemic is over, but for many of us with chronic health conditions, that unfortunately isn’t the case. I love makeup though and I especially love lipstick (who doesn’t love the idea of a coloring book but on your face!), but it doesn’t make a lot of sense to put on makeup that is going to be half hidden or come off when I talk. It’s also hard since I’ve been in college so I almost never have the energy to put on makeup the way I’d like to. It would be especially useful for me because I am starting a hybrid internship soon, and while I’m in the office I will be required to have a mask on, but I would still like to be able to look and feel awake and put-together! If anyone else has product suggestions I would gladly take them! A lot of my makeup is older than the pandemic so unfortunately it probably needs to be tossed 😅
The thing about red or bold lip colors on people like you and I is that we are both rather fair skinned with fuller lips, so everything looks extra bold on us. It's why I tend to shy away from those colors unless what clothes I'm wearing balances it out (usually by featuring a similar color or a complimenting bold color).
Ohhh Allie my fave was That Girl!!! I have bought about 3 lip product recommendations, the Maybelline Vinyl Liquid Lipsticks ohhhh I love those! I have a few and those are my faves. But then I purchased your L’Oréal recommendations as well. Fell in love with that formula too. I love having options. Sometimes I feel like wearing a matte, some times a glossy lip look, these are cover that. AANNND now wow this Milani liquid lipstick in That Girl!!! I wanted to find an orange red for summer! Hi, Allie/ I love these swatches. I have tried a few colors already. But it is true that they do feel a little tacky when they dry, but I have tried and like so far the colors 130 and 210. Being a person of color, it's very nice. What I do with the shade 130 is use wet-n-wild lipgloss mega sticks on top, and I get the feel I want. It's not too bad. I've never worn liquid lipsticks before and didn't understand the hype or dislike about it. It is a little drying but so uncomfortable I can't put something on top. Overall, its not too bad! I love liquid lipsticks! I’m a nurse and have to put in and off a mask all day and it’s nice to not have to reapply lipstick. I also think liquid lipsticks aren’t as uncomfortable as they used to be

Although there were a few colors I gravitated to, I cannot find myself wearing anything but balmy lips, or my fave, thick cushiony serum/glosses. My two must have faves are the Phyto-Glow Lip balms by Naturium- they feel SO COMFY, and their colors are divine, I am hoping you will get them and do a lip swatch video. The other lip I must have are the Fitglow Lip Colour Serums, which are thick, comfy and also in divine colors! I am hoping you will do a lip swatch video with them also! I am sure you will find them as irresistable as I have: warning, once you try them, it will be hard to live without them!
If liquid lipstick is coming back, I hope the new gen formulations are like em cosmetics so soft line. It’s comfy and don’t kill your lips, but still velvet
Matte liquid lipsticks were very useful during the pandemic and wore well under face masks. I believe the popularity of lip balms and oils plus the reemergence of newly formulated lip glosses are a response to 2+ years of covered lips. For summer I think the matte liquid lipsticks will be pushed aside by products that showcase a full juicy hydrated lip now that our lips are free to be showcased. 💋
Hey Allie! Do you think it will survive greasy food? I am still looking for a good liquid lipstick that survives greasy food. I loved the old ultra blotted lips from ColourPop but the new ones are the worst to me and are gone very fast. The old ones did not transfer on me
When I first tried liquid lipsticks, I didn't like them. Too dry, emphasized any & all texture. Now that I know what I'm doing, I love them. Bold, beautiful colors that don't go anywhere all day. It's the best.
Hi Allie, l was at my Walmart here today, and they never have the lipsticks, l guess l will have to order them online, l there today to get a few new makeup, but when I get there ,they didn't have any of these lipsticks either, l was looking for the Elf lipsticks too, but of course they didn't have any, hugsssss
The colors are beautiful I am half French half Italian and the look is dark hair perfect skin strong brow and red lip If blonde do a darker brow again perfect skin and red lip. The red just dresses you up !
Every color looked great on you! Is that because your makeup was very natural and neutral? I typically stay away from kits because the cool tones are more complimentary on me. Some warm tones tend to look unflattering on me.
I’m more of a soft matte lip kinda girl. If I want a longer staying power or a tinted lip color. I can’t do full on liquid lipstick. Drys my lips out way too much. I’ve tried so many and I take them off after an hour.
Hi, Allie! I'm catching up on your beauty videos (been working a lot of overtime), so I'm late in responding. I am a gloss lover. I also prefer a cream or satin lipstick because I have dry lips. I find that liquid lipsticks are dry and wear in a patchy way that is not attractive, unless there's been a formula improvement.
Personally I am not a fan of liquid lipstick like yourself. I do prefer a lip oil or glossy lip . I prefer a nude brown kind of colour so these would prob be a bit too pink for me. Great video ❤️
I only wear liquid lip because they last all day. Thru workout and lunch. I’m using maybelline this month. Glossy is sticky and lipsticks always need to be reapplied.
