Thanks for the shoutout! The Flicker is great for batoning and processing wood to get it ready for a fire. It's also great for creating a fixed/spring snare or a deadfall, ideal for making the right groove/angle. And the first piece of furniture I made for my wife 20 years ago I only used a chop saw and a chisel (for the joints). I still have that chest in my living room. Much of the time we use our knives like a tool, and I am celebrating that. On the Flicker Feather, I designed the diamond plate with the same hole pattern as the clip, so you can switch it around if you want. Both clips, you can unscrew and rotate 90 if you wanted a scout carry option. But the clip itself was designed to be attached to a sternum strap of a backpack for easy deployment. …but it really does grab on to just about anything. Love the constructive criticism! Love how you get me thinking!
The chisel style blade is a wrecking knife. Taking apart pallets, hacking through branches like a hatchet, persuading it through material by whacking it on the spine with something solid (the name of this technique is escaping me), etc.
Me and my family used to do detail work for taxidermists and the orange hunting knife from outdoor elements had another important plus. The open design of it makes it easy for cleaning. No matter how good the knife is at cutting when your processing game, the ability to clean it easily is important.
All you have to do is Think about carrying one of those gravity knives here in New York and you get in trouble. :) Ridiculous laws. Thanks for another great video!
Glad you like the skxmod case Dom, when I received mine I was shocked, I bought the polished stainless steel one, so much better than the original. Greetings to You Dom ~ The guy who introduced you to skxmod :D
Great video Dom!! Ultem is pretty nice. I LOVE my ultem mini Pyrite. Oh so fidgety and addictive! It's the only ultem knife I have. But I'm not opposed to getting other ultem knives.
I just checked and the only thing I saw is you pay a buck for the "Kickstarter reservation" so I'm guessing they're not actually available for sale yet
I know this a gear and not a guns channel but since you mentioned using a blade for self defense I wonder if your EDC package includes a firearm. You may have covered this in the past but I am new here. I see your channel as a complement for my CCW and hunting EDC needs
Think about batoning and processing wood, and also trapping - creating a snare (fixed snare, deadfall - prefect for creating the right groove/angle) but yeah, if you want to build a project like the peeps in Alone, you could do that as well.
@@rays5163I was surprised how often I use the house (if your a DYI peep) I fixed a cabinet, repaired a door jam, and tweaked a drawer. But yes! Joinery was the word I was looking for!
