I like carrying the DataCrew What-a-Slider vs. the GBG Mighty Pouch+ because I can clutch it better. The GBG is a lot wider than the DataCrew pouch. I have medium sizes hands so it feels very comfortable and more secure in my hands...
Still wading into the pouch life, but this pouch is definitely a winner. Got my second one coming on the way to me. Repping my boys on the inside of mine ;)
Got mine yesterday. It might take some time to get used to but I can see myself using this pouch. I got the grey one and it almost feels like rubber on the outside, for sure it’s going to be very water resistant.
That Data Pouch!! It’s amazing. I had to get 3 different colors. Fits everything I need and the outside pocket holds important things like my cash and credit cards
I would say that the thickness is a negative as far as trying to carry this beast. The Garage built ones fit in my cargo pocket and forces me to be a minimalist like your moniker say's?
I don't get using a pouch my edc has to fit in my pockets. I would buy those pouches for storage or camping but other than that it would be a problem to carry
Exactly my thoughts when i saw these show up everywhere, why not use a pocket organizer instead? But then i remembered 2017/18 when everyone suddenly felt the need to carry around CNC milled titanium fidget spinners. EDC has become fashion that you wear in your pocket.
It is just a good thing to have on you when you want your pockets to weigh less Also keeps it organized in sling bags etc and always ready whenever all over together Everyone has their opinions but I recommend getting a more budget version and testing it out for yourself!
Think of it as a place to put all the stuff you don’t carry every day but some days. I don’t always grab everything but I can still have everything close enough by.
I use a pouch, but it's strapped to the Molle webbing on a Nitecore backpack due to the fact it didn't have just enough sorting area for some things I wanted to keep with me. It holds some usb cables of different flavors, a knife and a powerbank. But yes this guy seems to be into the edc world purely for the aesthetics of it. Until he posts some handyman content I doubt any of this stuff really gets used
Hey Brandon, i just Love the Datacrew, Garage built gear, Zero Field and Alpaka pouches.... Love the PVC patches too. Here in Brazil, doesn't sell this itens...
I managed to snag this one in Wolf (gray) and while I don't have it in-hand yet (I live outside of the US), I'm glad that I got it. Thanks for the review, this makes me feel even better about what's coming.
Idk. That thickness is a suuuper big con to me. I prefer the lower profile of the GPG. That said, are there h&l pockets that could be attached internally to add more organization for the extra space? Idgaf about internal patches or IG-ing my gear. 😂
You do an AMAZING job at presentation and everything you bring to the table with your content! Glad I'm subscribed and tuned in as of recently. I can't wait to get an EDC pouch and make my life more efficient. Thanks so much!
I got it thinking that the extra bulkiness would allow me to stuff more stuff but I realized quickly it doesnt fit my needs :( kinda disappointed but it does look good despite the thiccness
Wondering if you have seem the Brotac Gear Max Sleek pouch? I think these pouches are more than comparable to others I've seen and used. Quality is off the charts and the color ways are amazing with an Asian esthetic I have not seen by any other EDC pouch maker. For me, the Data Crew pouch is too thick and bulky for use in my EDC messenger bag. But I would be interested in seeing you do a review on the Brotac pouch.
I mean, when do you need your pouch to be waterproof ? 🤣 i bougth one... what-a-slider Mojave... it's way too thick for pocket carry... the GBG Mighty pouch is still king here due to the pocket friendly aspect ! I'm selling my Datacrew What a slider cause of that ! It's too thick plus it carries less than a GBG.... i mean...
Whoa, that's too big to fit in a pocket. As is other pouches are to thick. I'm looking for something minimalist that I can grab and go, and not look like I have the kitchen sink with me.
