not true....New Edition all sang on those records especially Ricky, Bobby & Ralph because they were the strongest singers in the crew but Ralph would be called back in to double stack their vocals because of his distinct vocal quality....on the song "Maryanne", all 5 members sing lead and on the Christmas album, Mike & Ron sang a GANG of lead as well as harmonize.....you can't be in a group for 30 something years and not get better vocally especially when the producers are working with you in the studio...in the movie, a LOT of stuff was left out and embellished on as all members have said in their interviews....and there are a NUMBER of live clips on You Tube of New Edition singing live and harmonizing on stage...this was back in the days when there were no sequences or pre-recorded vocals...YOU HAD TO KNOW HOW TO SING
Ralph said he sang the lead and backing vocals and the song would pretty much be done before the other guys came and put just a SPRINKLE on the song. He said he was in the studio from 7am until 12am by HIMSELF. They were at the club. He said that this Monday.
people's voice changes as they get older but his tone is on point. keep in mind, he sings live and danced and maintains vocal quality while performing. critics can be such assholes.
Excellent interview! Jeffrey had me cracking up! As far as Ralph? That brotha' doesn't know how much of an inspiration he is, and I haven't even met him. I've always wanted to be a musician, but I wasn't really into singing. Then I listened to this gentleman for the first time. Discovered my own voice, and haven't stop singing since. Thank you Ralph!
LMAO I am over here dying of laughter lmao!! And this is my 2nd time seeing this interview. idk why it wasn't as funny the 1st time around. That's my guy!
❤I think Ralph sounds good considering he has been singing and touring years on end ,plus making songs in the studio that is consistency 👏👏👏👍👌✌😊💙❤❤☺2019. 98.1 FM The URBAN HEAT 🔥❤
