The brand new edition of The Good and the Beautiful Language Arts Level 1 is out! I stalked the website and as soon this homeschool curriculum was available I ordered it. I know the good and the beautiful has sold out before and I didn't want that to happen.
In this video I give you an in depth look inside of the brand new homeschool curriculum, the good and the beautiful language arts level 1. I explain what is covered in the course as well as what has changed since the 2nd edition of this homeschool language arts curriculum.

We used the old version of level one last year and are using the new level one this year. I like the new one so much better

Hi, thanks for your video. It's very helpful. I wanted to ask you how long you would estimate for a student to fully complete level 1? I was thinking to moving to level 2 as soon as we are done with level 1 but I wanted to ask for your opinion. Thank you!

Do you think it’s necessary to purchase the handwriting book as well? Or do they get enough handwriting practice in this workbook?

i found it necessary to use the handwriting books for extra practice. there isn't much writing in the workbook

@@oneblessedmommy4024 no I am not supplementing at all, I think its wonderful all by itself. We do use a different spelling program only because we like spelling you see.

Thanks for your video! This is helpful. I think we are going to go with TGATB, but having trouble deciding on whether we should go with Level 1 LA or Level K. My daughter is 6.5 and is just about done with Kindergarten. I saw the placement test on TGATB's website, but still am not quite sure which level to purchase. Do you have any thoughts? Thank so much!

Hi Lindsay! I'm so glad you found the video helpful! It can be tough to know which level to go with. What curriculum is your daughter completing in the K level? That may help me know where she is academically and if level K or 1 is best for her.

If I may give a suggestion... I would love to help. My daughter is also 6.5 last year we used Horizons for Kinder, but she struggled and didn’t quite understand long and short vowels. We decided to start her on Kinder primer to fill in all the gaps and then move to Level K. The level k primer is a short book but it’s really great. So we started the primer will be done before summer is over and start K in the fall. I already purchased level K LA as well and looked through it and there is a lot of information and sight words for them to learn. TGTB language arts is advanced so K would be like 1st grade in public school. If your child really understands the concept of short and long vowels maybe she can do level 1. But like I said it is advanced so if it was me I wouldn’t rush it. I think it’s better that they understand the concepts 100% before moving to the next level. Good luck!!

Hello. Would you say that The Good And The Beautiful is the only language course you need? Does it teach everything. We are going to start Homeschool next year and start with pre k

Hey! Thanks for being here 💛 Yes I would say TGATB language arts is a complete program, definitely. It is very thorough and my daughter is the proof that you don’t need anything else. She is in 1st grade and is reading really well. I hope that helps!

ARe the illustrations racially diverse? . I have to ask because representation is so important to young impressionable children. How many stories would you say depict brown families/children? I appreciate your review! It's very helpful thanks!

I’m so glad you asked! It is definitely racially diverse! But j can’t remember off hand how many had brown families and children. But the stories illustrate families of all skin colors and races 💛💛 I hope that helps!

New sub here! I plan to use TGTB Level 1 (old version) next year because I already had it however, I tried downloading the newer verson and it just will not download. Do you have any recommendations for supplement with the old version to fill in any gaps? Thank you for doing this video!

Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here! I don’t think you need to supplement at all with the old one! It’s still a complete curriculum, just some minor updates were done. I think you will love it!
