ArcelorMittal is building an Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) at its factory in Gijón (Asturias) to transform the steel mill that supplies steel semi-products to its Rail and Wire Rod Mills. This is the first major investment of the Company's Decarbonisation Programme in Europe and represents the first step towards steel production with a low carbon footprint in Asturias.
