The Strongarm was my first ever Weapon with more than 1 shot capacity. .. I will never forget how surprisingly good it performed . I 've found my true love in this blaster and I won't fool it. Great sidearms never die
i actually have on of these and mine surprisingly fired farther than my strongarm which i just got a month ago and even modded it with kits and yet the disrupter did better xD
i would want the strongarm due to the fact that it has more mod capability - eg the drop cylinder mod which would make reloading much better with the strongarm.
my personal thoughts on the now 3 main nerf sidearms. -hammershot hate it. Being able to fire one handed is a nice feature, but you lose the ability to give it really powerful upgrades. You also extrememly decrease your rate of fire, I have yet to see anyone figure out how to shoot that thing with any speed, and lastly duel wielding, is just kind of silly. There is really no advantage too it. -Strongarm Good blaster. A classic design and though it has some issues when being modded I have seen some great powet upgrades and planning on doing one myself at one point. Drop mod is an interesting concept, I personally wouldnt do it as I would use it as a secondary, but if your using it for a primary or just vary often its a very good way to function. -Disruptor The strongarm does have issues just loading the cylinders, and I would take the disrupter over the strongarm if you werent doing a drop cylinder mod. this is juat my opinion. I have no problem discussing these points, as long as you dont flip out. Good day.
Drac's Toy Lab Im sure its possible and with you used to real guns you probably have whatever technique that requires (I dont). I just state that because from my friends who have a couple, and from watching people in nerfs wars online, I havent seen anyone do it. I do not normally watch your war vids so I may have missed it.
I see the Hammershot as a kind of run-and-gun type blaster. It's easier to operate than the Strongarm while sprinting. Also I agree, dual-wielding is rather silly, but if you plop 8-shot cylinders into two Hammershots, you get a pretty solid and quick potshotting pair.
AeroProductions The 7-8 ahot cylinder is definitely an advantage for the hammershot, I just find the hammer prime itself very flawed. Im not saying its absolutely terrible, it does functionally shoot foam tubes, but strongarm/disrupter lacks all those problems. ╮(╯▽╰)╭
You know what just occured to me, because the disrupter has the same front mech as the hammershot, maybe they might be able to make 7-8 round cylinders for the disrupter. Now that would be a heated debate.
My local Steampunk group does Quickdraw and Nerf dueling, where the rules don't allow anything battery-powered or any sort of magazine or clip feed. The majority of the participants like the Strongarm mainly for its more comfortable grip, but there are a couple who like the Hammershot for its one-handed priming feature. I'll have to see how people feel about the Disruptor once I add it to the inventory.
hey guys remember when the strongarm was the most loved sidearm when it was dracs favorite elite blaster where are those days i personally like the strongarm better than the hammershot or disrubtor
I have 2 Elite, 2 Elite XD and a Modded Strongarm, and I only impulse bought my first Disruptor today to see what the difference was. I do like the grip on the Disruptor, but I much prefer the drop-cylinder of the Strongarm and the way the frame makes it look more robust and protects that cylinder, both shoot equally well, both using Elites, FVJ's and Ekind Waffle-heads (my personal ammo of choice). I was considering ordering a Hammershot from Amazon, but that was there on the shelf in a new Asda (Walmart) I'd never been to, somehow I was drawn toward the toy aisle and a Disruptor begging me to free it. How could I turn away? I left those darts and Triads behind as I have 2 moddded Triads right now and loads of better performing darts.
I have 6 Strongarms and without some kind of metal reinforcement, those pins on the slide or plunger rod will just shear off, luckily all of mine are pretty accurate and powerful (some more than others, but only by a small margin), I absolutely love the Strongarm as a secondary with the slam-fire and easy reload, and it's pretty good stock, better than most stock blasters I've tried lately.
I do like the Dan Wesson Reload on the strongarm, but I do like the more efficient Reload on the disrupter better, just got both yesterday and I like the Disrupter better
It appears that Orange Mod Works has ceased making Strongarm kits. Would someone tell me how to make a good Strongarm without OMW? It doesn't seem that Worker is making kits either.
Drac, your right about the Blaster being Simpler and easier to build. I took apart a Speedloader Six today and that has SOOO many parts and screws its ridiculous.
To me the Disruptor/Strongarm is the same blaster. The differences are not all that significant. Not sure which one looks better.Sometimes I like one, and other times the other.
I am a huge fan of the pop out cylinder feature of the strongarm but let’s be reasonable like nerf boy said how many times in a nerf war are u constantly shoving darts in into the cylinder chambers rather than actually popping out the cylinders and reloading the strongarm in that way therefore the disruptive takes the win and it’s performance is a little better however I still love the strongarm
You know it's better to hook the front notch on the priming piece instead of the rear notch? Everyone makes mistakes, but I hope you point that out in your vids because it's actually a viable option to duel wield strongarms, and I don't want people to not do that just because you said it's not practical when there is clearly a better way to do it.
i don't understand why the hammershot and strongarm are so often touted as the "best secondaries" the barricade/stockade beats them both BY FAR as long as you have the right size holster for it.
myan ormisbutt It's really just preference. the barricade is great, but it's also loud, clunky, and has rev time. Those two are liked because you can just whip one out and immideately fire.
You see, the best springer sidearm is the cycloneshock, with the elite dart mod. All you really have to do is put the elite converters into the cylinder and without any other mods, it has good power. I say the best springer because the stryfe or a cut down rapid strike is the best sidearm on the market.
Anyone else having this problem? My Disruptor works fine (or at least the same as my Strongarm), aside from when using slam fire. The priming handle doesn't go back all the way, and I have to manually push it forwards by about an inch, this doesn't happen with my Strongarm. Another thing, also happens during slamfire. The darts don't leave the barrel before it finishes it's rotation, causing a jam. This also doesn't happen with my Strongarm. All help is greatly appriciated!
This is the Disruptor (joggles Strongarm) and the Strongarm (jostles Disruptor). Lol. Let's also take into account when comparing these that the Disruptor looks to have a lot of dead space in the cylinder that can easily be used for more darts in a 3D-printed aftermarket piece like the 6- or even 7-round cylinders for Drac's beloved Hammershot.
The strongarm is better you can load up either side with darts and obvs the muzzle without too much trouble its not like dropping the cylinder is even hard you can make it spring out too with a super basic mod. Slam fire is why you have a strongarm or disruptor I dont care how much anyone likes the hammershot its not quick enough to prime so in close quarters where you might actually use it you'll struggle against more than one person.
Strongarm or Disruptor? In my opinion, I would prefer the Strongarm because it can be modded to have a drop cylinder. If completely stock then I would still go with the Strongarm because i like the way you can pop out the cylinder and spin it then pop it back in. It's not really practical but definitely tacti-cool. I'm saying this because I have three Mavericks as my first blasters and I really dig cool action.
Personally I think I would prefer the Strongarm over the Disruptor simply because of it's ability to have drop clip.. I have a drop clip Strongarm with four cylinders and a six kg WORKER spring and it runs like a beast at HvZ
The way you are dual wielding them is wrong. There is a indent at the front of the whole slide to stop sideways sliding. I agree Hammershots are better for dual wielding tho.
Disruptor win with Disurptor you can reload lightning fast MID BATTLE while strongarm you have to spit out the drum and reload. Disruptor simply more war practical and DRACTICOOL
far and away the best secondary is to take the blaster part out of that nerf game for the Wii. Just the tube that you put in the gun. Make a custom catch and put the springs from both of the ones the game comes with into one of them. Easily 90-100 ft with half length darts and easily 75-80 ft with full length.
