Hey, artists! I know there's a lot of other reviews and fun things coming your way to this channel, however, I had to get the word out on these fantastic NEW watercolor palettes by Prima Marketing (not a sponsor)! I got a chance to sketch with them and they're very lovely! Let me know which one is your favorite and if you've played with them yet! There's plenty more creative projects to come so stay tuned and enjoy! Xo Jane
It’s not pronounced pal-AY, there is no é accent e-acute for a rising inflection in French. It’s pronounced PAH-let, with the t, the same as suffragette (SUF-ra-jet) and smurfette. LOL
Thank you and I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I suppose it's the same with "To-may-to"/"Tah-mah-to", etc. I've always called it "pal-ay". Some call it "pal-et".
Kana Ken That's because she's pronouncing it wrong, unfortunately. French is our second language here in Canada, and palettte is pronounced like suffragette, smurfette, etc, just as it's spelled
@@ArtistJane It's not at all the same. One is a linguistic deviation based on cultural location and the other is a mispronunciation. Pal-lay is just someone reading the word and saying it wrong.
@@ArtistJane With French, you only leave out the T sound when its the last letter. Ex. Ballet. If there's an 'e' on the end, ex. Toilette, you pronounce the t! So, its pall-ette, not pal-ay. Please do not use the excuse that its a choice/people pronounce it "palay". The French will laugh at you.
Thanks so much for showing these 3 palettes and swatching them! I couldn't find any swatches of them, so now I'm really happy I came across your video :)
Thank you very much for doing that. Helped me decide on the palettes. And yes I know it's a grammar police thing, but honestly it's so hard to hear calling them "palais" because that translated means palace. They are prounced "pal -ets"
Thank you as always, Dennis! I’m looking to use these more with spring here again, and maybe travel to get some more inspiration for the nature part of it.
Haaaa I sound EXACTLY LIKE YOU WHEN I GET A NEW pallet AND SWATCH THOSE BEEEEAUTIFUL COLORS.. I LOVE PAINTS ESP THE JANE DAVENPORTS AAAHHHHHH.... SEE IM ALL GIDDY! I CANT WAIT FOR THESE ...IM SAVING UP NOW!! THAT LAST ONE OMG GORGEOUS..THANK YOU FOR THE REVIEW!
no kidding!! i just finished a beta for my pastor. he's moving clear to washington and i won't be seeing him again. he's a good guy. just wanted him to have a reminder of my husband and i .
Great Video! I am so glad I ordered the woodlands pallette! After seeing the beautiful colors I am even more excited for it to arrive :) I did notice tho that the two grays looked a lot alike, Oh well, That complexion pallette is lacking! I dont like that they used repeat colors :( oh well, So far,,, Tropicals, Odysseey and this Woodlands one are my favorites-Oh and the metallic one too, I adore! Many bad reviews on that one and I disagree 100% use that one often
It just goes to show that everyone’s needs and desires are different when it comes to color, paint, and application. We’re all different and so when it comes to paint, I am a sucker for color and pigment, but I ultimately want that balance of vibrancy in pigment and performance. Enjoy your woodlands! It’s a gorgeous palette.
Oh trust me, you will have fun with those juicy Tropicals! I know what you mean though - once I saw them, I had to check them out and get them! I love the different themes that Prima has.
I just got Tropicals, after Decadent Pies, and Jane Davenport Brights. I did some mixing fun with it today and it's my go-to. I am putting 4 sets in a 48 pink tin next month, and just chart our all colors in a sensible order, or divide them by palette set. I have not quite decided, but Tropials is so perfect for travel, I might have trouble breaking it down, but then I can reserve a 12 tin and choose whatever I need for my trip. I really enjoy these paints. Tropicals swatched so beautifully, and mixed so purely, I cannot find fault with it. Hopefully I dont get too many repeats, but I will use them, in any case!
TerrieJ DimestoreDivaTV Ooooh how fun!! I agree about Tropicals. You can actually mix just about any color from those and they never seem to get muddy. It’s kind of amazing. I couldn’t be happier with that set and since it’s the only one I have from Prima- now I want them all!!
read reviews. I passed on pastel dreams, since I can mix a pastel with zinc white anytime. I am YES, paying the release price of 30.00 for Woodlands. That's a first! But I know that the quality of the paints are worth that price.
TerrieJ DimestoreDivaTV Yes, the idea of a pastel watercolor is kind of ridiculous to me do I’m not getting that one. But these three and the Odyssey one are a must! I agree that they’re worth the $30 but I’ve bought too many watercolors recently so I’ll wait. How long until the price gets dropped, do you think?
Nova Gray all of the colors in the complexions pallet are found in other pallets, so if you have or are planing on having all of the other pallets, it’s kind of just one big repeat.
I love all of them but I think Complexion might be the one I would use most since I love portrait work. These would be great for art journaling! Thanks for the review; this is my first look at these new palettes. Georgia Gunn
