Very good at low listening levels - that, to me, is one of the most important review criteria. Excellent. I judge that by the intelligibility of song/text in a foreign language that I master.
It is very apparent that Taron's passion and motivation for these reviews is being as transparent and neutral as possible. This review is a clear example.
Tarun, have only heard about Exposure from you and a few others in the hobby. I pressed the trigger on a 2510 based on your reviews. Boy o boy. I have not heard a more sweeter and musical amp in my setup. I drive KLH Model 5's, Denafrips Ares 2 feeding the Amp. I have the Wilsenton R8 as well with tube upgrades. I had the Unison Research Secondo Amp. Out of all these, Exposure 2510 hits a sweet spot in a way that I was simply not expecting. Thank you..thank you..I am so damn pleased.
I'm considering a Exposure 2510 and Denafrips Ares 2 pairing - and I'm not sure I'll get the opportunity to audition before I buy (cardinal sin, I know!). One thing I'm not clear on though is how to add balance and tone control. I'm not certain it will be needed, but something I'd like to understand how to achieve with this pairing. Any thoughts/advice? Thanks 😊
@@andypyne also Andy to add to me previous comment. I had tuned my Schiit Loki to bump up the vocals for TV/movies. The Loki has a simply bypass switch. For music I would bypass Loki.
@@andypyne and finally not sure what speakers you have. if it helps, that combination Exp 2510 and Ares 2, have been the foundation of my setup. While all other bits around them have changed over time including speakers. Wonderful amp and dac combo. If you are after natural sound, fantastic sound stage, depth, smooth yet not boring presentation, this surely gets you there. The Exp did bass detail and texture better than a few others in similar and higher price.
I've just come back from the future .. sort of, ... It's March 2022 and I just watched your future video/discussion with Ian White re favourite integrated amps. You mentioned this amp as being one of your favourites so I thought I would have a more serious listen to this video. Glad I did... very glad!!!!
Your review was the key element as to buy the 2510 over similar price range competition. The only drawback would be the lack of headphones output. In all other aspects it sounds divine with the focals 906. Very balanced and detailed has plenty of capabilities depending on the source as well. Plannar P3 w/ ortofone bronze give vast musical precision w/ 2510 at this range. An entry-level audiophile amplifier to own for many, many years.
Awesome review Tarun - your objectivity is never in question with me, always on the money and on point! Top job sir! Plus I now have something new to listen to - going to ride the Ghost!!
Thank you David. Much appreciated. Looking forward to your review of the Exposure XM5. I hope to review it myself and see how much of the quality is retained in a fully featured small box. Hope you enjoy the track 😊👍👍
The Exposure 2510 is in my living roon now. Brandnew together with a pair of KEF LS50 Meta and and KEF Kube 8. The Bluesound Node delivers the music. Together with good cables (VIABLUE and INAKUSTIK) ) a resonable and affordable emsemble with great sound. I am very happy ! Thanks to Tarun, his reviews convinced me to buy this hifi equipment
Hi Tarun, great review, I'm a long term naim user but am very interested in exposure and proac, so I would consider a demo, more likely the pre and power combo. I look forward to your reviews and jump on them as soon as they come out. You've become my go to guy on you tube for my HiFi hobby. Keep up the good work!
Great review again Tarun. I had the Exposure Classic XXXV few years go. I now have Exposure 3019S2D pre amp / 3010Sd power amp which drive Vienna Acoustic Mozart SE speakers and Project 2 xperience turntable with Ortofon Cadenza Blue cartridge and project phono amp. Exposure amps are quite musical rather than clinical especially with Jazz and Classical music. I've owned other makes of amplifier over the years but when it comes to exposure they are effortless in there sound delivery especially at low levels.
Cannot agree more. And used a lot. Bought a secondhand integrated for temporary replace a pre and poweramp because I have to repair those. I use it for half a year now and still did no repairwork on my other amps. This does everything right. Soundstage, dynamics very resolving and open without being agressive. I don t feel like trying other brands anymore. Will try a poweramp in the future. Thanks!
Taron thanks for going out on a bit of a limb in reviewing a current Exposure amplifier designed by Tony Brady. Exposure amps were designed by John Farlowe whose highly musical circuit designs where one of the best in the industry. Rumors has it that JF worked on the amps for Pink Floyd. My Epos Es 22 loudspeakers are connected to an Exposure 14/9 pre amp and use to be powered by an Exposure Dual IV regulated amp. Last year I decided to purchase Exposure’s 5010 mono blocks to power the Epos Es 22 loudspeakers. The relatively newly designed Exposure 5010 mono block amps would place a smile on John Farlowe. Dynamic, rhythmic drive, taunt palpable bass, palpable midrange. The dynamics of the 5010 amps will at time startle me! Goose- bumps heaven! Thanks for introducing this musical company to those who have not heard of Exposure. Exposure has not missed a beat! Thanks Taron! BTW my current reference system is Epos Es 22 loudspeakers,14/9 Exposure pre amp, Exposure’s current 5010 Mono Amps, two Rel S/5 subwoofers, linn lp-12 turntable, and room corrected with linn akurate DSM player.
Thank you John. Great to learn about your experiences. Thank you for sharing. I spent a summer in the 90s working at Exposure alongside John Farlowe. He did indeed design some guitar amps for Pink Floyd. If memory serves me correctly 😊👍
Hey Tarun, love your reviews and the style in which you deliver them. However this comment is more to say thanks for the 7 minute thrill ride that is Ghost Rider's Soul Recover. On my main rig it was quite entertaining, almost felt like my listening chair needed seat belts! Cheers mate, Jim
I bought this amplifier based upon a stereophile review years ago which seemed too good to be true at this price point. It really is a very good amp and I ended up selling my Bryston 4B-ST because of it. I'm at a loss as to exactly what individual thing about this amplifier caused me to make that decision. It doesn't have the dynamics, grip and bass of the Bryston at all, but I simply enjoy listening to it more and it is the lowest wattage amp I have had in many decades but it has plenty of power. Really a special little amp that is a bit of a mystery.
Thanks for the review. I started with a XV in the late 90s and it's been Exposure for me every since. I've been running a XXI with a DR4 and the XIII phono pre for more than 15 years now and still love it. Good to hear the new models have stayed to the good sound philosophy of old. Great product line - nothing beats upgrading components I was really attached to and ending up with more of an already great thing. So looks like you review some cool equipment so I hit the subscribe button for the first time ever - guess I'll see what that means.
Hi Tarun, Thanks for the detailed review which included the easy-to-digest technical part for someone ( a non-engineer) like me. I also enjoy your descriptions and comparisons which I can almost hear (using my experience with sound). I have always enjoyed looking at the beautiful simple design of your Exposure components, and I have recently found a store where I can acquire the Exposure 2510/3510. I’ll share my experience once I have one of these. If you have an opportunity, please review their XM CD player 😉 🇿🇦
I bought the exposure 2510 off of your review. I love the way that you are articulate and also come straight to the point in your reviews. I have read else where, that it is best to leave your amplifier turned on all the time to help maintain the functionality of it. What is your opinion on this matter? Please keep up the great reviews!
Love the review. I would give Audio impression first, then move to comparison. I’ve never heard Hegel and and felt I was kind of getting a review of three amps. Anyway, good stuff man! Keep em coming. Can’t wait for the review of those classic looking speakers:)
Really enjoyed your review, have been following the channel more or less since it's inception. Also now an exposure fan, recently purchased the 3010S2D with MM phono card and its excellent. Really controls my neat momentum sx3i speakers, deep bass, quick and nice warm vocals. My previous elex r sounded too forward and I could hear a bit of sibliance from the speakers, the 3010S2D sorted it right out. I'm sure the 2510 would have been great also. Anyway really enjoying the channel, looking forward to your future reviews. Best.
Hi Tarun, thank you for another interesting and honest review! Appreciate the analytical and honest way you do it, and don’t think anyone can blame you of not being objective. And we all have weak spots for some things, especially if we use it for a long time. And this is perfectly fine, it makes us human.
Great review. You've got to love the simplicity of the inner workings of the Exposure, in complete contrast to the Hegel H95 where they are struggling to fit everything in seemingly. Probably not a fair comparison with all the extras that the Hegel has, but for pure sound less is more I reckon. I liken it to the approach and ideology of NVA amps which sound superb too. That Ghost Rider track is ace, I see what you mean about soundstage.
Excellent review Tarun and very informative to spread the news of Exposure which is clearly one of those rare engineering oriented (rather than marketing driven) brands. I am advising it for a friend to audition, matched up with a system containing ATC SCM 11 speakers, Gustard X26 Pro Dac and Marantz CD6007 CD player.
My favorite part was The Rocking Cow! 🐮 ...oh...and THANKS for the exposure to The Exposure. Hmmm...apparently, there is no distributor in the USA for Exposure Amplifiers. Tarun...have you ever had the opportunity to listen to any of the Hypex Kit Amplifiers?
I do enjoy your explanation and insights of the internals and parts used. Very informative and for reference, as you explained. Good stuff my friend ;)
Thanks for the track recommendation too. I do have a weak spot for electronic music, and this track was right up my street, even better that it is useful as a 'reference' piece to review equipment performer. That said, music's main function is enjoyment, soul therapy . Keep the track recommendations coming (both for reference listening purposes as music recommendations).
The track reminded me of "BBE: Seven days and one week" playing on my custom Thorens TD160. That is a reference tune to check out for bass slam, timing and dynamics. 😎
There are a lot off reviewers I follow for several years and all the stuff they review is super good, terrific..... strange I think they look a lot like salesman.... you are really a fresh wind of are on RU-vid doing it they way you do... keep going on👍👍👍
Hi Tarun! Yay!!!... finally an Exposure review by a long term user and excellent reviewer. I thought your review was terrific and on-point. As an owner and fan of Farlowe era gear, I was looking forward to a an Exposure new product review. As others have expressed, I was hoping you might touch upon how your gear compared/contrast with new integrated, despite recognizing they are surely in separate tiers. Regardless, now that you (seemingly) have access to Exposure products, I hope, and really look forward, to your analysis and thoughts on some of their other offerings (perhaps the ‘recently’ launched 5010 series). Thanks for the care, honesty, objectivity and education you clearly strive for, and achieve, in your reviews... they are always a pleasure to watch and look forward to. Please keep ‘em coming. Cheers!
Thank you my friend. It would have been nice to delve more into the Farlowe Vs Brady era comparison but the video would have been too long. If I get to review the 3010 Pre and Monoblocks I will do exactly that. Thank you for watching, sharing your experiences and you kind words of support 😊👍👍
@@abritishaudiophile7314 Thanks for the kind reply, Tarun. I think your thoughts on reviewing the current 3010 separates line-up would be the perfect vehicle to address the passionately debated Farlowe v. Brady eras. I’m sure our small, but very enthusiastic, Exposure community would be delighted and engaged by such a piece, and would be hard pressed to find anyone more qualified than you to deliver it. Thanks again!!
Thanks for this review Tarun - Great as usual. I am split between Atoll I200 (3400CAD w/ phono) and the Exposure 2510 (3200CAD), but the latter is as much as I want to pay, so I was thinking of the Atoll IN100 instead. I know you haven't review it, but for the Atoll IN80 that you reviewed and that is considered the most 'current' Atoll sound, how does it compare to the Exposure 2510? .... i know the IN100 is dual-toroidal.. so I'd be careful scaling up your comment to my own needs. thanks again
Another great review tarun, I've used exposure amplification in the past. Always great sound quality and build at the price, interesting looking speakers in the background, hopefully a review of those shortly, thanks for a unbiased review as always,.
Hi Tarun - Thank you for another brilliant review. While I can understand why you felt the need for some disclosure regarding the Exposure brand, I heard nothing in your review that indicated any significant bias in their favor. As always, your presentation rings of honesty. I appreciate the attention to detail. The comments regarding the output devices and the passive preamplification were spot on. I know from having built a DIY Nelson Pass First Watt M2X amplifier (approved by Nelson Pass) how important those output devices can be. Nelson's method for heat dissipation is nearly identical to Exposure's method. As always, your well-sorted and highly polished reviews are welcome in my home. I look forward to the speaker review you mentioned.
Thank you Gary. I greatly appreciate your kind words of support. Nice to learn that Nelson Pass and Tony Brady (Exposure designer) have the same philosophy. The XLS15 review should be next 😊👍👍
Hi Tarun, hearing you come back to the Exposure 2510 over the years as an important reference, I've begun thinking of purchasing one. I can't quite get my head around how to do it, though, for various reasons. Customs in Thailand can be very high, for example. I may purchase one next year when I hopefully go to Europe for a family member's wedding. What surprised me is that several dealers in the UK offer online or in-store purchasing, but the price to buy (or ship to an address) in the UK is something like 850 GBP, while sending to the US comes to around 615 GBP including shipping! Yet I don't know if there will be big customs duties or hassles on the US side. Exposure dealers in North America seem to be very few and far between, and the price is also on the high side there. Anyway. if I decide to follow through I'll figure out a way. I'm pretty happy with my system, but the idea of an upgrade is sometimes a bit tempting. I actually appreciate that you have a stable set of reference points that you're able to compare new equipment with in your reviews. I find it a good approach that helps define a field of possibilities for those of us looking to put together satisfying systems. Thanks for your efforts!
Excellent review! I wish more phone calls would say, "Interested in Exposure" as I find myself twisting arms. The 3010s2D has been my favourite for many years driving ATC loudspeakers, especially the SCM19s and SCM40s. It's really quite a special brand.
I'm listening to one right now (an ELO playlist on Qobuz to be exact 😊), and I can't argue. It sounds glorious to me. Have you had any good synergy with cheaper speakers then the ATC's? I was thinking of trying Dynaudio. The ATC's are really up there in price, even used. If you can even find them. Here in the States they're not exactly the most popular brand, unfortunately. That's part of why I jumped on this Exposure amp. It was being sold by someone I knew I could trust, and at less then half of retail. I wasn't even amp shopping at the time, but wasn't going to let the opportunity to try out the Exposure brand in such a promising situation just pass by like that. And I'm glad I grabbed it. It actually works good with all the speakers I've tried so far (Triangle Bro3, Denton 80th, Buchardt S300's), but I'm looking at a buying a really nice pair, like maybe Dynaudio Evoke, or Special Forty. And adding a sub. Because of my room, and listening situation. I need to go small speakers, and subs really. Which means the ATC would actually be perfect, but the prices are just too much for me. The 19's are 4 grand here in the States! I can get the Dynaudio Special Forties for $2500 if I'm patient. And to me. They seem like a lot more speaker, as they're using parts from Dynaudio's upper lines. That cost a lot more money. In fact one reviewer said he felt they were worth twice as much in his opinion. And he definitely wasn't a biased reviewer. He bought them himself, and is a good guy I feel. Steve Huff is his name I think.
@@peterruler48 I of course realize that. I've got a house full of gear, and have been doing this for years. I'm asking for some help in narrowing my choices down, because you're literally the only person I've come across that's heard this amp, besides the guy I bought it from. I don't have a dealer near me, and can't afford to buy every speaker in my range, and pay to send them back. There must have been other speakers besides ATC that sounded good to you on this amp. So far every speaker I've tried sounds pretty good actually. But like I said. I'm looking to step up my game.
Contrary to speakers, I remain faithful to my ARCAM A80 for almost 20 years. Before , I got a Marantz amp for a decade. So as you can see, I am not the kind to switch amp on a whim. I must be convinced the new amp will surpass the old one in purity and control of the speakers. Thanks for the review! Maybe one day I will try a MOON amp!
I'd like to thank you for the knowledge and experience you provide. I saw this 2510 amp on a used market for about 30% off its listed brand new price and I pulled the trigger right away. It was only six month old. I've never had an Exposure amp before so if it wasn't for this channel, I probably would have missed the deal. Not knowing a good thing when I see it. Anyway omg, everything you said about this amp is true! the background is darker than all amps I've heard before. It sounds great at low volume too! I thought I had to get a much more powerful amp to get my system to sound good at low volume but this amp is actually lower in wattage than my old amp.
What a well done review! Thank you! The first review from you that I have watched. I appreciate your straightforward style and addressing the possibility of perceived conflicts. As the user of a 3010S2 CD player as transport, a 3010S2 preamp, and 3010S2 monoblocks, your description of the sound character matches mine - I suspect the 3010S2 series goes even further than the 2510, but have not done a direct comparison. Excellent work!
Great review Tarun, I like how you strive to be as transparent as some of the quipment you review. One day I may have to make the jump from 'old' Exposure and good to know that the 'new' Exposure should be on the shortlist.
Exposure equipment has never disappointed me . Back in the 90’s I had the XV integrated ; Royd Sintra’s ; and a Rega P3 with a Nagoaka MP 11 boron . I’m pretty sure this would still compete with a lot of the new gear out there ! I remembered most that it was so musical and tonally correct ; makes me wonder why I got rid of it!
@@abritishaudiophile7314 do you have any experience or insight into the Exposure 2010S and it’s performance? The exposure amps are quite hard to get and expensive in Canada but I’ve got a lead on a fairly priced 2010S. Would it be worthwhile? Like you I listen to a lot of jazz.
Thank you for your great reviews Tarun!!! Really helping us minimizing a huge list of options! Would you describe the 2510 as having a more forward or laid back presentation?! Also, would you suggest this amplifier for hard rock music or should I look somewhere else?
Thanks. There may be one or two people who are cynical about product reviews and relationships with reviewers and companies, etc. But you shouldn't explain yourself to them, as they'll never listen. Excellent review! :)
Hey Tarun, now you're talking! I landed on Musical Fidelity but it could so easily have been Exposure. This is definitely my kind of amp, which I'm sure is no surprise to you! I'm somewhat dubious about the choice of speaker connectors, however, aside from that I love the spec. Less is more in my book, so happy to see no DAC or streamer built in. I especially love those Elna Silmic caps, which are in no small part responsible for the excellence in sound quality. Great stuff and thanks for the hard work. All the best, Mark.
Would love to compare the 2510 with my Leema. Both are pure analogue, no Dac, streaming device; Exposure is 75 watts into 8 ohms, Leema is 80 watts into 8 ohms, both have class AB amplification. Both have a phono stage. The Exposure retails around £1800, the Leema retailed at about £1200-1300. On paper they are both well matched. I'll have to blag a demo 2510 sooner or later.
@@abritishaudiophile7314 The one Leema I would love you to hear your thoughts on is the all-in-one Quasar, if you could blag one to demo. The few reviews I have read have all said the SQ for a all-in-one is astonishing. But it is a digital package so no good for me.
Really excellent review, as always! Your having had direct engineering experience with Exposure...gives a deeper meaning to your reviews on this and any other amp on many levels. Such a brilliant yet simple design. When checking these out, Creek integrateds tended to show up having similar design approaches - but more from the modular ad-on standpoint as you mentioned the earlier Exposures offered. I ended up with a used creek Evolution 50a, and what you described of this Exposure kind of describes the Evolution. But I’m sure both companies have since taken some departures since 2012 (age of my Creek...which I love due to its seemingly pure to signal design). Curious of your impressions on the Creek products, so few reviews out there for them!
Thank you for watching and your kind words of support John. Great to hear about your experiences. Mike Creek is still at the helm of Creek Audio. They recently shifted their production from China to Europe and revised their line. Much more expensive now. Their only amplifier at the moment I believe is the Voyage i20. It retails for £4,495. I am in discussions with them about reviewing it 😊👍😉
@@abritishaudiophile7314 Very, very cool...glad you’ll be covering their newer amp! Wow, that’s quite a jump in price...interesting output stage on those new ones. Thanks for what you do!🙏🏼👍🏼👌🏼
Watching this review at work. Instantly tried that Ghost Rider-song out on Spotify and now cannot wait to get home and try it in my setup. If you remember me, I actually went to my local store and picked up a Hegel H95 for testing, after watching your review, although, I did not settle on buying it. I will explain: Currently I have in my setup a pair of very easy driven Triangle BOREA BR03s and a Marantz PM6006 amplifier. After watching your NAD C338 review, I felt like I had to get a "streamer" of sorts, since Spotify is my go-to music source (kinda stoked about the HIFI announcement!). The Hegel then had the Spotify Connect feature which I really liked a lot. But, audiowise, with my room, my setup, there wasn't THAT much of a difference between the Hegel and the Marantz. I tried several hours of music, different genres and was never as convinced as to buying it directly, which ultimately led to me returning the Hegel and instead I picked up the NA6006 Network streamer from Marantz. This device was, for me (since already owning the PM6006), less than half the price of the Hegel and brought me basically the same fidelity. Thank you Tarun, I find your reviews most comprehensive and enjoyable to watch. Also, I like your keen knowledge in both equipment as well as components within.
Thank you Joel. I greatly appreciate your kind words of support. I really enjoyed learning about your experiences. Thank you for the update. You have a nice system which works for you. That is all that really matters. No point spending more if it doesn’t deliver sonic benefits in your environment 😊👍
@@abritishaudiophile7314 Indeed. I am though, somewhat interested in trying these speakers (that I own) out with a more powerful amplifier, something around 100-150W, only because I've heard they only get better with more power even though they are quite easily driven at 90db... But that will be a thought for the future, as I am very pleased with how it sounds right now. ☺️✌🏼
@@abritishaudiophile7314 Hey, one thing just hit me, in Exposures larger model series, the 3010, there's a power amplifier called 3010S2 which delivers 110W/ch. Do you by any chance know anything about the sound/fidelity in comparison to the 2510? This power amp retails for a little less than the integrated in Sweden and I was thinking that my NA6006 streamer actually can run as a preamp via variable RCA out... That might be a nice combo. *thinking out loud*
Great reviews as usual, like Exposure very much but was pipped by Italian Unico when I bought my amplification in 2003.i have always had the Sugden in the back of my mind but now you have got me confused with this brilliant review. Please when are you going to get to the British speakers Harbeths I will love to hear your view on them.Apropos to nothing do you drop the t on little for fun as I listen out for it.Brilliant reviewer par excellence.
Hi Tarun - great review! I do confess to being an Exposure fan boy! *My XI/XII/Super 8 has been running now for 34 years and thanks to some system tweaks you recommended has never sounded better* Now more than ever, there is the sense of a musical performance, especially with intimate jazz trio/quartet or chamber music. I like Exposure's philosophy keep it simple and spend money on what sounds good. John Farlowe would approve of the 2510! All the best, Rob in Switzerland
I think it's so cool that you have found a pair of speakers that you really enjoy (in your Response one SC) that are from the 90s and you've had for a long time. I also have some speakers that I truly enjoy from the '90s in My Mirage MRM-1. Not my first choice and brands in Mirage but these are a fairly traditional design for Mirage in just being two-way bookies that are 35lbs/16kg each and I'm terrified to let them go in case anything newer doesn't sound as good! I really wish I didn't have this itch to upgrade but, Ive got a good deal on so on some Revel M126be. Which retail for twice as much as the MRM-1 did.
Great review as always! This is my favourite Audio review channel. I like that you offer a comparison with similarly priced alternative. Most reviewers don't provide this context. It would have been interesting if you went into more detail into comparing your old Pre/Power Exposure set with this new product. Perhaps that can be a follow up video :) As with all things on the internet, opinions are extremely divided, some Exposure fans love the older (Farlowe) era, while others prefer the modern iterations. I have always wanted to get Exposure, but need to scroll through all auction/classifieds for used options, as I cannot afford them brand new and they are difficult to find in my country. I am saving up for my dream setup - an Exposure Power Amplifier with a Tube Pre-amplifer
Thank you Keith. It would have been nice to delve into that in a bit more detail and compare the Farlowe Vs Brady era amps but the video would have been too long. It may be something to do if I review the 3010 Pre and Monos and could do a direct AB comparison 😊👍
@@abritishaudiophile7314 Thank you very much for replying. Yes indeed, if you get a chance to review the Pre+Mono combination that would be great, and I suppose it would be a fairer comparison than the 2510. On a separate note - I didn't realise that the preamplifier section on the 2510 was passive. So hypothetically, if your source (DAC etc) has a volume control - could you get one of the Exposure power Amplifiers (2010 power amplifier for example) and get the same result?
Hi Keith, the short answer is yes. Most modern DACs have a fairly decent digital volume control. You have to exercise a little care with gain and impedance matching. Looking at the specs, the 2010 power amp has 14k input impedance and 24dB gain. It should work with most solid state DACs but I would avoid tube DACs just to be safe 😊👍
@@abritishaudiophile7314 seeing reviews like that, I wonder when you’re going through some schiit stuff, that would be great to learn more about their construction and performance
Thank you, i have no experience with Exposure but i have a pair of Elipson Prestige Facet 24F speakers and i am looking forward to your review. As for electronic music that i use to test my system, i go with Massive Attack - The Spoils (feat. Hope Sandoval) and Synthetic Epiphany - Icarus feat. CoMa.
I hate having to stop my music to listen to your bloody videos but what can I do you enthrall me! 😲 Normally when you recommend a particular track my usual procedure is the whackit on Spotify straight away but on this occasion I'm happy to announce my now new TV which has e-arc (Lossless audio) has surely made up for the loss in sound quality of RU-vid videos compared to Spotify! What I'm trying to say if one loves there RU-vid music as much as I do, one really needs to experience a tv which has e-arc! Ghost Rider-soul recovery sounds absolutely magical sincerely thank you for this recommendation absolutely loving it. 👍👍👍 Exposure gets an outstanding WOW! I'm just wondering if there going to be a perfect pairing for my now new interest of the XTZ LCR speakers.
Thank you buddy. Always a great pleasure to hear from you. Sorry I disturbed your listening session. That e-arc is a great feature. I wish I had it on my TV. You should definitely put this amp on your short list 😊👍👍
Played the Soul Recovery track on Tidal... My Arcam SA10, CDS27 Network SACD Streamer and Wharfdale Denton 80s loved it. Huge slam and spaciality from that track, the bass track reminded me of 'BBE Seven days and one week' I was surprised to hear this, you must have been a 90s raver just like me 😛
thank you for opening My Mind I'm currently run a Naim 5 system CD player amplifier Flatcap 2 power supply and the Naim moving magnet phono stage with my 1991/2 Rega P3 with motor and power supply upgrade with Roxanne chorus black stylus and cartridge and my Naim intro 2 speakers I'm 100% update my system and there's two amps sound excellent
Thank you for your detailed and thoughtful reviews. I enjoy when you share what it is you look for and the metrics you use in judging various kinds of audio equipment. I have continued to consider purchasing the Amphion Argon 1 based in large part on your review but also on other reviews and on the very wide sweet spot and ease of positioning that everyone describes. I hope to listen to them myself soon. In your review of that speaker you were very impressed with the overall tonality and synergy when combined with the Hegel H95. I'm curious whether in pairing with the Amphion Argon 1 you would now prefer the Exposure 2510 or the Hegel H95, having heard them both. I don't really need the features of the H95, but if that pairing with the Amphion Argon 1 is really special I would consider it. Thank you again!
Thank you Theodore. I have listened to both amps with Argon 1 and I felt the synergy was better with the H95 over the 2510. The 2510 is the better amp but requires a speaker with a fuller, more open midrange to show off it’s strengths 😊👍
@@abritishaudiophile7314 Thanks so much! Your response helps me think about the options, in circumstances where actually listening to paired components can be hard to arrange.
Thank you Todd. I can’t get Chord to send me the Qutest at the moment. Will try again in a couple of months. You just reminded me, I need to send Alvin @ Vinshine a follow up email to get hold of the Pontus 😊👍
This price range is for many people the most they would spend on an amplifier. The 2510 is certainly one I will consider. How would it compare with a Rega Elicit R which is similarly priced and seems to sell well. I am using a Heed Obelisk Mk2 at present, its the best I have tried in my system so far. I’d say it sounds in the warmer side of neutral which I like and it’s midrange and soundstage are also features I enjoy. But I’d like to try an amplifier that has more power as I have some speakers that are more difficult to drive.
Great review. Love your channel. I bought a rega io amplifier and love the sound. Im a fan of its lively rhythmic presentation. I have never heard an Exposure amp. Do they sound similar to the Rega amps? Thank you.
Hi, Exposure is known for their rhythmic presentation, it is often compare to Naim for that reason. However, i suspect the 2510 trade a bit of that for a more mature and refined sound from what i have read.
Thank you Tony. The Exposure 2510 should be quite a step up in performance from the Rega IO. It has great pace, rhythm and timing matched with the right speakers 😊
Good review. Really liked that Ghost Rider track, amazing scale of that sound stage. Try Fair Play by Van Morrison, also good sound stage but also good test for imaging and bass control.
I play everything by Van “The Man” Morrison🤗 He’s one of the best musicians ,lyricist, composers & singer in our lifetime.. Anyone who wants to test any of their gear, should start with Van..,His Catalog is so massive it can take months..He just keeps turning out stellar music! Same for Richard Thompson & Frank Zappa.. Equal to Van.... Both can play any instrument too👍👍 Though Franks gone his music lives on...
I quite enjoyed the track, even though the style is not to my taste, the soundstage was very wide and the sounds did almost come from the sidewall. Great effect!
Great review. Although I don't own this amp I've actually just bought an Exposure 2010S2 for well, £250. Used once, still in original packaging! It will be in my 2nd system. I will use a Topping DAC for it (as the MDac is in my main system) and Rega Planet CD player. Question is about speakers for Exposure? Have read it goes well with MA (which I found too bright in my Audiolab system). Any ideas? I have a pair of Ruark Templars i'd ideally like to use with it.
@@abritishaudiophile7314 The Exposure power amp is great, very controlled. Paired it with a Rega Mira 3 (similar gain). Only tried it with the Ruarks so far. May try the MAs to see what happens, but I do like detailed, neutral sound. Thanks for responding.
Enjoyable, and honest review ! I'm very interested in the amp !! I'm using a hybrid tube amp now , but the low level detail is just not there ! Hard to break away from that tube sound though !! Also I'm using Salk songsuround plus passive monitors which are 84 db sensitive, and are very defined! Hoping they are available in the US !?
Thank you Steve. One of Exposure’s key design goal was to emulate the midrange clarity and natural presentation associated with the best tube amplifiers. If you can get it in the USA, you should definitely check them out 😊👍
Tarun, excellent reviews- many thanks. I have 'up-graditis', I have, at present, efficient Living Voice speakers, an excellent RME DAC and a WD Kel 84 valve amp (which I love). Would the 2510 amp really be an upgrade?. Thanks
hello Tarun ,greetings! thank your for your reviews with simple to follow & love all of them with reading all comments . i am confuse in taking decision. i beg your verdict i was decided before this exposure 2510 review to finalize hegal h120 ( i am useing tube amp & martin logan ESL fl.standers) but now i think exposure 2510 is better choice & balance bucks to be used in outboard streamer ( cambridge cxn-v2) thank you regards
Thank you Ashok. These decisions are very personal and can be difficult. Be reassured they are both very good brands. Please let me know how you get on 😊👍
Excellent reviews as always, thanks. I am very close to buying the 2510 with MM phono stage. Before doing so I wonder how much of an improvement this would be over my existing Exposure amp, which is an Exposure Super XV? Any comments really welcome. Keep up the good work there.
Great vid, as always, Tarun! I'm a huge sucker for the minimalist approach in audio, so obviously I have a bit of a soft spot for Exposure - I got to listen to a 3010 at my HiFi dealer not long ago and was quite impressed, and a 3010 pre or 5010 pre might end up being part of my next system upgrade. On a different note: I'm a bit bamboozled by those speakers-with-the-needlessly-complicated-name being identical rather than mirror images - that's rather weird...
Thank you Sebastian. Great to hear about your experiences. Good point about the Elipson Heritage XLS15s. Apparently, that hails back to the traditional design these speakers are based upon. The review of them should be next 😊👍
Great review Tarun, as always! Very informative, detailed but still easy going. Do you foresee reviewing the next up in line, the exposure 3510, anytime soon? Thanks
Too late for me! Based on your recent review I splashed out on a Sudgen to replace my old Quad setup. I now have to wait many weeks for the supply chain to kick into action, but in the meantime my HiFi shop have loaned me their demo model.
Here's a question and please don't take it as a criticism. I wonder why exposure builds their PCBs in Malaysia? Especially considering companies like Rega and Cyrus build their PCBs in the UK and sell comparably priced products and oftentimes cheaper products. I mean maybe it's an outsourcing procedure, or perhaps in the case of Rega they can build their PCBs in the UK for cheaper money because they build more of them, sort of economies of scale. Again I want to reiterate that it's not a criticism of exposure, more just a curiosity. I've heard several of their amplifiers over the years and have always came away extremely impressed and like yourself I am enthusiastic for the brand and it's products.
No criticism taken. I have no tie in with Exposure other than liking the sound of many of their products. As far as I am aware, Exposure boards are still propagated in Malaysia and the assembly and final testing is done in the U.K. 😊
Nice one Tarun, sounds like a classic Farlowe era exposure amp, so plug and play musical amplifier. High prat factor and loving rock. Can see a lot people enjoying this. You need vinyl Tarun, just do it :)
