Looks like you might need your vents professionally blown out with all the mystery dust. I've never done it but I've heard it makes a huge difference. I think we definitely need it too.

Glad I'm not the only one doing that sweep hack...been doing it for years but often don't because I feel guilty. The best broom for this is the rubber type that's also awesome for dog hair.
