Looks like a cool-friendly, fair skin-friendly palette. Very nice! I don't do an all-matte look. It seems to look too flat on me. I mix matte with satin and a touch of soft shimmer for some dimension.
I have been super frugal when buying eye shadow pallets because I can’t see myself using most of the shadows regularly. But this is the one I’ve been waiting for!!! Makeup by Mario came through for the desaturated, lighter, and olive toned skin tones. Yes! ❤
I personally adore matte shadows. I typically stick to a matte look most days, because they feel more approachable and comfortable for me, but I always have the option to touch it up and pop a glitter or shimmer topper on to take the look into evening or date night.
I rushed and got this and am not disappointed! I tried the a couple of the same shades as you did just today! Super happy and can’t wait to play more. Would love to see more eye looks from you with this palette…and the original one also!
I got this pallette and its beautiful. Im so happy its not warm and really is nuetral/cool and all matte. I don't use shimmers, I love the classic look of buttery mattes.
I purchased this pallet and love it!!! It's one of those go to pallets when have to run out the door with a simple look or an evening look, it's versatile 😊
This was SO, SO helpful!!! I struggle with finding eyeshadow palettes that are light enough for my very fair skin. I’m a MAC NW5 and Fair Porcelain in It Cosmetics. My undertone is neutral leaning cool. I am definitely ordering this tomorrow when the Sephora sale begins!
I have the first palette and I bought this one during early access on Sephora. I'm also very fair with a neutral undertone so I much prefer the new one! I might even give the original one to my best friend who is tan and has more of a warm undertone.
I’d love to see more videos with this palette. I’m trying to decide if there are enough colors that would work for me and we have similar skin tones so please keep using!
I usually wear all mattes and sometimes a satin or not too crazy shimmer in the middle of the lid. I love Texture by Mac and I like to blend that in with my shadows so there’s some va va voom
I caved, I love neutral tones. This is so much more me than a warmer palette. The original looked to warm for me, so glad I waited and bought this instead

I feel like I NEED this palette! I wear Smokey eyes on the daily, but I use very soft colors. However, with light skin, my options are pretty limited currently. This one looks like it offers so many interesting undertones all in the range that make them very useful to me. And I have plenty of toppers from I Need a Nude for those days when a little sparkle is needed ❤ What can I say? I’m a neutral girl !
I love a good matte palette. It’s such a staple to have. I can always use one of my glitter toppers if I want to add some razor dazzle. I got sooo lucky when I bought this. They had just put it out on the floor at my Kohls Sephora and I was like the first one to get it before it sold out! I even was able to snag the new ND palette and the LAST summer Fridays birthday cake lip balm in store. 🎉
If I had to choose one I would take the first because it is the warm colors that suit me the most even if I find the second very pretty (especially this gray). Very beautiful, classy makeup and very good for every day🧡🧡🧡
I had NO idea he came out with another pallet… as soon as I saw these colors I hit your link and BOOM another pallet in my collection😂😳 but…. this one I feel like I’ll use so much more! I’m such a one-and-done person, that as soon as you said that, I was like “that’s ME!!” I love the softer, lighter colors… never got his other pallet because it was just too warm for my taste I knew I’d never use it🤷♀️ But, this one… LOVE IT!!❤

I am waiting for my new Mario palette to be delivered, so I love you have already shown a look using this, and have shown it’s perfect for a lighter skin tone! I have fair skin like you that is on the neutral cool side. Warm colors are not something I gravitate towards. In fact, when I bought the first Patrick Ta eyeshadow palette, I was so disappointed that it was so warm. The same is true with Natasha Denona's Biba palette. It's a beautiful palette but it's pretty warm with just a couple of cool tones. This palette was made for me. I have two all matte eyeshadow palettes. The Pat McGrath Velvet palette (it's only got 6 shades and it's warm leaning) and the Tartelette Matte eyeshadow palette (which more neutral). I like them both but this one is perfect. I used it yesterday for the first time and I absolutely LOVE it!!! As a mature woman, matte eyeshadows are very flattering. If I want shimmer, I can pull them from a variety of single eyeshadows or from other palettes that are shimmer heavy! This palette is totally work appropriate too!!!
I got this palette on Sephora on Launch Day. I am a fair/light girl and it’s hard for me to find a palette I can use daily to create a lot of eye looks that aren’t overpowering or make me look like a raccoon. Thanks for the review! ❤
I’m torn on this one! I rarely, if ever use all mattes. It’s a pretty palette but I bought the Etherial Eyes one late last year and it’s by far my most used palette so I know his formula is amazing. But not sure I need this since I already have the other one 🤔 but the colors are really pretty!
I love an all matte palette for everyday. I do appreciate your one and done explanation. The only reason why I am not purchasing is because I have a lot of palettes already that have similar shades.
With regard to matte-only looks, I actually quite like them! But if a beautiful lovely shimmer is sitting there in the palette staring me down the whole time, I cannot keep myself from dipping in and adding it. So an all-matte palette lets me play with mattes without getting “pressured” into sparkle on the days when I don’t necessarily want it 😅
I don’t have the budget for them right now, but I feel like this pallette and the Natasha Denona I Need a Nude would be the perfect pair of pallettes 😍
I love matte eyeshadows. I think all the shimmer and glitter in palettes is overboard. Always easy to find a shimmer (singles) or in other palettes if you want that pop. I really want this palette, but do I need it? We’ll see.
I rarely wear shimmers. How was the formula? I had read that the formula on the original (warmer) matte pallet wasn't the best. Since you have both palletes, do you notice a difference in application as far as patchiness, fallout, dustiness, hard-panning, etc?
Looks to not have enough gradient. Colors are light to midtone and too cool for my preferences. I would love a neutral palette that is truly neutral, not warm nor cool.
I’m not going to buy this. I have so much make up that I don’t need these colors because I’m sure I have them in my collection, plus I never do matte only looks so it’s just not worth it for me. Also I only wear make up 1-2x per week so unless I am using this every time, it isn’t worth it to me
Same, I have 10 high-end eyeshadow palettes but I only wear make up on the weekend, so I definitely not need this despite I think it’s an interesting palette
Neutral eyeshadows just make me look washed out, dirty and sick 😂 maybe it’s the shades I’m using because I can never seem to make them look okay on me… ❓
All eyeshadow pallets over the last two years are the same with the same colors in different order with maybe one color that is new. Not worth the price point to me.
I love these tones for the 20%! Really it’s probably the 5-10% of us that have fairer skin and cool or neutral undertones and can often be a little left out. The last thing I need is another warm brown!
I agree, @LisaBeetsKS, as someone who is fair and cool to neutral. And so many other palettes are too deep with not enough of this "lighter touch." This feels very wearable to me. If it had some satin shades also, I would probably buy it.
As a person of color, I would definitely consider this palette. It's right up my alley. Ha,ha! 😌 I love warm tones and cool tones on my eyes. But I have a question, Would you consider using this palette with Natasha Denona Glam palette against each other? I would like to see if they are the same or is there something different?! I really wanted this, but I feel like the first row and a half wouldn’t even work as a transition shade. Idk…I love his other palette and was so excited for this one. I would also love to see comparisons between this and a couple of ND’s palettes.
I am drawn toward this cooler palette moreso than the other one. It looks like this might pair well with his Ethereal palette! I do love a good satin and shimmer. Thanks for the review, Allie!
I see several comments that agree with you which surprises me. I only use mattes except for a bit of shimmer on my inner corners. I buy a single shade for that.
Hi Allie! I would love if you reviewed some of Colorpop's products (blushes, bronzers, lip balms etc.). I have always wondered about the level of quality their products are as they are extremely affordable, and they have been having a lot of online sales.
This is a lovely neutrals palette, just like the first was a lovely warm palette. I'm looking forward to the time he comes out with a cool tones palette!!!
You look great with the colors from this palette, very soft , elegant, classy because it is all about you and your features and not the makeup. I love the 90’s matte look and I also wear only matte eyeshadow so this will be my next purchase.

I know the general census of this palette is it’s boring and basic, BUT I have to disagree and here’s why: I purchased the original matte palette thinking it would be great as I only wear mattes on an everyday basis. But when I used it, I found it hard to make it look nice on my skin tone because I’m super pale and have pink undertones. When I saw he released a more muted cool toned matte palette I jumped on it because I tried to find a similar palette with these exact colours, and I couldn’t find it. So I really recommend this if you have cool undertone or you just like cool toned shadows.
This definitely reminds of what we wore back in the day. However, it's just beautiful and natural and easy. I can take shimmers from any other palette to dress it up. Thank you for this. I'm DEFINITELY buying it.
