There's no max range for BVR missiles, it comes down to your launch parameters and your bandit's aspect and defence. The higher and faster you are, the higher the probability of kill at longer distances. Assuming your bandit is in posession of brain, he will turn cold and aggressively manuever, which would drastically reduce the hit probability of your missile at range. The longest kill I ever got was in the F-15 at around 45 miles, 30000 feet and mach 1.3, the MiG was around 15000 feet hot and barely moved. The next round he foxed 2 times from around 35 or 30 miles and I defeated both of them half way through. The MAR (minimum abort range) is the only range that matters in BVR. It is the range where the bandit can't just go cold and escape your missile. It has a complicate formula but you can assume it at around 10 miles (that was the AIM-120's). So, there's no max range to BVR missile, the closer the higher probability of kill. Their effective range is around 20-25 miles assuming the average player who just panics hearing the RWR scream at their face, any kill further than that just because you are lucky your bandit is dumb😅
