After a month of contract discussion, twenty four model trainees are signed. Day one of their model training commences with an Industry Knowledge lesson with Bonita Ma, followed by a formal introduction to their assigned mentors - Aimee Cheng-Bradshaw, Layla Ong, Cheryl Chou and Kaci Beh.
The boys are shocked at what the catwalk class entails - this isn't what they expected. What's more surprising for both trainers and models is - at the end of the first assessment, someone has to go. And it's only week two.

So it's ok for the boss to appear hostile/rude even though she doesn't mean it (ep1) but when the models unknowingly have a "chou lian" (long face) because they're nervous, it's unacceptable...

Double standard. A boss should be a leader working together in a team, but instead this boss focus too much on her ‘power’ believe that she is above the rest. Lol.

Am I the only one who thought that they were way too harsh on the models? If they are nervous now (understandably) how would these videos affect their self esteem? Idk just wished they’d also mention the good doings of the models as well

I don't think it's harsh. The industry is even tougher. No excuses for the trainees not putting in effort or doing their homework. Lots of people are dying to join this agency so they better treasure their chance to learn all they can. Just one bad casting is suffice to get you blacklisted in the industry.

it’s definitely enlightening to see what goes behind the scenes in growing a model’s career, however I feel that the models deserve respect & a benefit of doubt as well. From the clips shown in this episode, it seems like they were judged simply by things on the surface without first understanding or checking in with the models. Of course I understand the mentors did reach out but simply judging and assuming their actions/lack of response in such negative light isn’t very nice. I understand too that the modelling industry is very tough and competitive but as we know it can be very detrimental to their mental health, so why are we condoning this? No hate here just some feedback :)) i do enjoy watching Basic Models content but I feel there needs to be some form of respect/privacy in discussing about the models as they too are humans and have feelings!

the group chat parts are true and applicable. when i entered working life esp in the office, my supervisor always advise me to ask, ask, ask and never ever keep quiet over smtg unless you are 100% sure that you can handle it. yea it might sound annoying or you feel like you didnt wanna bother them so much but it's safe to say you'll more likely to survive in this type of industry if you do these. it'll also give them the impression that you are dedicated and interested in striving.

u dont need to be tall and skinny to be a model. there are a few models who have unique features and make use of it when modelling.

Hi, in accordance to the covid guidelines set by our media authority, we are allowed to film without masks on. Staff and trainees not appearing on camera always have their masks on and temperature is always taken before every lesson. Don't worry, all safety measures are taken. It's very safe in Singapore because everyone here is very responsible.

I believe Singapore has been more progressive about COVID-19 safety in comparison to other countries within the past year. This probably allows them to be a little more “normal” in group settings.

Yasmine has hallucination she self proclaimed she was in training in sm. She is obviously lying. She has too much freckles. Sm want girls clear skin not even freckle..look at all their trainee girls all got clear skin and her looks doesn't even fit any kpop industry. And given sm big name ... And she was saying her eye was going All around so obvious she was lying. And she can't rmb her training year ? Not like it was ages ago. Also, with a contract you can't just leave like that. ... Liarliar. Hallucination. And tbh you can't get to any kpop industry Yasmine.

Because the ones speaking to each other are Chinese....? It’s just interpersonal communications. When addressing to more people at once they use English (as usual)

@@miaash7374 they do have international clients! And there are subs! Speaking in their mother language might make them feel more comfortable but they speak English when they need to I.e. during mentoring, work, etc :)
