10 years ago i was at college, joking that people thought my job with photoshop was easy enough as just "pushing a button to clean wires of a picture". And now Photoshop literally does that. Crazy times.
We should be incredibly grateful that Remove tool doesn't use AI or cost generative credits. It's blazing fast, free, and does insanely good at not just removing but recreating stuff. Anyone who's been doing these things before these tools existed understands just how many HOURS just one of these examples would potentially take to pull off even remotely as well.
Photoshop has never ceased to amaze. The only thing that amazes me more is your dexterity in Photoshop! ❤ Thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise with the world.
Great update, that probably was expecting by many PS users so long. The only remark could be: light pillars and transmissing towers look pretty strange after the removing cables and powerlines, all in all - it's an awesome new feature.
Pretty spectacular. I think removing the poles too will be the next step.... I know, it's easy to do on our own, but it seems like a natural to not just remove the wires, but the poles or other structures supporting them too.
And here I got up at 5:30 to photograph the Coliseum without capturing 1000 of my best friends wandering through the frame. Glad to know I can sleep in from now on and still get the tourist-free shots.
I used the beta version from about a week ago (the distractions choice only said "wires", not "wires and cables"). Be wary - at least in my version, there were definitely leftover artifacts, especially on heavily patterned buildings (my image was very similar to the sample you used). You also want to watch for reflections in the windows, shadows, and "warbles" in the air that can look strange when you zoom in. They look like the distortions or heat waves sometimes.... Love your description of "aliens" that show up. In my slightly older version, they definitely like to visit, LOLZ!
This is so fantastic! Thank you for pointing out this feature. I notice that when removing anything against a solid color (like the sky), the removed area is a slightly different brightness than the surrounding areas...usually darker (noticed at 7:21 in your video). Is there a way around this? Should I be working in a specific color space or bit depth or is this just the reality of the stage in AI that we are right now?
Great video, thanks Unmesh! If you use generative AI for removing distractions, is it logged against your monthly balance? Looking forward to your session next week😊
Unmesh, can you make a video about the cost of generative fill with Adobe? I remember they work on credits, how has that been working for you? Do you find it expensive every month?
Nice. But with wires and cables, leaving the towers and stuff where the cable were connected to is a dead giveaway. For example, in the last photo, why would you have a tower in the middle of this hill and no wires?
Each new version of PS makes turd polishing easier than before. 7:10 - Imagine taking a picture of some wires that happened to have some buildings in the background, and going “I got a winning photo of the buildings here, if only I could remove the wires”
Kirchhoff's law? Nice drop right there. However Photoshop kept telling me that it "couldn't find any people who are not the subject of the image" . Did not work at all with people
Anyone who says Affinity is a viable replacement for Photoshop is like saying WordPad is a replacement for Word. They simply don't know how powerful Photoshop is.
Incredibly impressive technology. But I feel like on a picture like the last I would spend the time I saved finding and fixing all the flaws it created instead
I tried this new option but it doesn't work even though the software has the latest update. After I apply to analyze the cables, only some black dots appear on the image.
I can not get this to work! I am up to date with Photoshop beta the photo is saved as a PSD file but all I get at the end is a photo with blotches of colour on it. What am I doing wrong please
All wonderful and marvelous, BUT, this feature and others like it detract from basic photoshop 'skills'. I work with my original CS5 and truly satisfied.
It's look like magic button "made great". i have a afreid because the man not heed . i think it not true way. (sorry for mistakes i'm from russia and i dont use automatic translate)
It's unlikely Adobe would go after individual users outside of the US. However if you are running a business, it's still possible to have litigation risks.
Frustrated because, even after removing ALL my plugins, I get the edit “Can’t use the tool because you are running Rosetta.” Adobe is of no help. Ugh! Cool feature, but even with Beta, I should have to have these problems with such a cool feature. :(
