Making items, 100% making items. I cannot wait to create a sword of great power, and strike down those dammed angelic mages (I have a passionate hate against angelic mages.. I forgot the unit name, it's tier 3, dose an AoE spell. Ai likes to mass it and well I mainly play undead thus it deals extra damage) Also I don't want to point out, but battlefield resurrection is so damm broken. I had 20K mana and 10 + battlefield casting points when someone dies, so I had essentially an unlimited undead army since battlefield resurrection brings back friendly undead units to life and not as decaying Zombies. First I stack devouring voids on the biggest groups of ai, than battlefield resurrection. Sorry for my ranting, I just love this game XD aaahhhh

Thank you so much team, i really appreciate the format of which the patch/dlc is presented, how they are updated and the content included. As and old AOW 1 player this is really an epitome of the genre. Keep up the good work :)
Have they fixed the AI? It was the only thing that prevented me from keep playing this game. Things like the AI completely ignoring the players 3 sites so you would just sit there hitting the next turn boton untill an enemy stack spawned and that was it or the AI just sitting there inside its borders doing nothing the entre match
THIS The AI has been completely brain dead since launch... it declares war.... does nothing... it may plunder some tiles but never siege one of your cities. Runs from armies it can beat, or attacks armies it can't hope to beat. It's just a terrible AI... playing AoW4 feels like a truly solo game... literally like "Sim Fantasy Realm Sandbox" because the AI is that bad. Odd, because the AI in AoW3 was actually far superior.
Wait, hold up. You guys made the Overlord games!? Ahhh childhood, and now I play age of wonders 4, it comes full circle, amazing studio, keep up the amazing work, I look forward to the newest dlc, recently finished story mode for AoW4
Is saw the slavers trait and I am looking forward to roleplaying as Ruthless Barbarians or the Tribes of Norsca from Warhammer Fantasy. Also seeing that Crusader Trait makes me happy as I can now go on crusades as Knights of Bretonnia which is also from Warhammer Fantasy. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE GIVE US MORE AWESOME TRAITS LIKE THESE!!!!
Looks great (although I'm sad Animal Companionship no longer applies to cavalry, I really liked that one). But still, I have to ask: in previous info-videos, I saw several game screenhots featuring islands floating in aether (I presume that's Astral Sea realm). Will we really have an option to play directly in Astral realm?
That's a harsh nerf to animal kinship, but it made the book a required pick for any build that made use of cav. Overall the update looks sweet, I kind of played myself out on this game mot long after the dragons dropped, but this might be a good time to come back.
Best Update so far. It really lifts the whole game to adulthood. Wonderful complete package altogether. Thank you so much devs. My favourite game has become whole!
but I liked my naval ships. Having to spend recourses on having a good coastal guard or ships to protect my transports was a good challenge and I enjoyed it. But now any army can suddenly become a navy? I'm not sure about that mate, but the rest of the update is great, so I guess I can't complain too much.
Yeah, same. Was hoping for ships to do.. something, I guess? Support embarked units, maybe? But they've been effectively removed even as water has now become more valuable. Ah well.
Yeah, this doesn't seem like the solution for crappy naval combat in the series. They took something away instead of adding something better. It's really the only thing about these games I don't like. Maybe they'll get it right someday.
im excited for the updates! but i cant understand what hes saying; its like zero punctuation but with a lisp making it incomprehensible :( it literally sounds like gibberish. for anyone else having issues understanding him slow it down to .75x and its much better :)

Love the fact that finally, you are implementing old features like item forge and water underground passage, already existant in age of wonders 2 shadow magic, i love that game and im still modding it, dont take it as a offence guys but in my opinion the best age of wonders is indeed aow 2 shadow magic still totay!!! ❤
How about the performance in large scale battles? You can add all this amazing stuff all you want but if the climax of a map is near unbearable to play I won't turn it on again.
If they don't address optimization in this patch I will be leaving a negative Steam review. This is literally one of the worst performing games in my whole library, and Triumph need to learn to optimize for PC.
I'm glad I chose not to play this too heavily when it launched despite buying the premium edition, by the time I get back round to it, it's gonna be crazy with it's added feature set.

Not gonna lie, I was most looking forward to finding out what plans you had for a naval overhaul, and you just... removed ships, in an expansion which most fit the age of sail. I mean it's nice that the sea provinces are more valuable now, I guess.
Will we be able to coordinate attacks with our allies? It sounds like this will only apply to vassals, but it would be great if we could also coordinate with allies.
im thinking of getting aow4 as i have planet fall, but its 41 quid on the xbox store but theres no phisical copys sadly id rather own it than take the risk and get it digitaly
It's 2023, no games are physical anymore. Anytime you buy a game, it's associated to your account... as long as you have an account, you have every game you attached to that account.
Will the AI know how to create items and powerful heroes out of this? Would like to potentially face interesting and challenging heroes where you will need to use your creativity to defeat.
Wouldnt bank on it. "Creatively defeating opponents" has always been a multiplayer endeavour rather than singleplayer. It is nigh impossible to code an AI without overloading it with cheats and/or arbitrary and forced behaivours. Every strategy game suffers from the "AI issue".
Does it matter? The AI would actually have to come out and fight in a war, which it hasn't bothered to do since launch. The AI is so terrible at war, it mostly just sits and waits for you to do something.
I made a feudal empire of wolf riders. They had a strong front line because of it. Stand together, packhunter, overwhelm tactics, animal kinship and every unit on a wolf.
AI is still terrible, grassland map generation is still borked, underground map generation is still poor and pointless and oh, multiplayer connection stability is f*cked again. They could've released the game in current state + DLC content TODAY and you wouldn't feel Triumph is being generous. $70 for a glorified cut-content beta test back in May.
Hey, how about you add a "feature" that turns off your absurd computer cheating that you block from being listed on your mod listings that solves this issue for you. How about that?
