Hi Brett, I just bought 2 Nest Protects and 2 Nest Mini speakers. Is Google planning to consolidate apps so that there is one-stop shopping for all Nest products? Thanks!
I’d like it if their damn ads stop setting of my Home Mini. It’s infuriating. Every time I watch TV I have to yell “cancel” at it at regular intervals during ads.
Craig Reel well whenever i say hey google to my mini, it will occasionally pop up on my phone and tablet, but since my mini will usually respond to the command first, it will just cancel on my phone and tablet, although this isn't always the case.

I have a problem with my Google home mini there's only one thing wrong with my Google home mini every time I connect my Bluetooth to my phone it keeps disconnecting and then I have to repair it with my phone it will only connect for a little bit and then it keeps on disconnecting how do I solve this please help!
The scheduled actions are going to be a really useful feature, the ability to use Google Assistant on TV's without switching it is a great touch but Android TV is a severely limited implementation of Google Assistant in my experience
You can already trigger routines by setting an alarm and choose silent sound Edit: it's only when you dismiss the alarm so it defeats the purpose of waking you up 😅
Just another question please Brett - just wondering if you came across anything home security related when you checked out Google at CES - possibly new cams? or anything related to Nest Secure...I know Ring featured a bunch of new upcoming products but I dont know if Google has anything in the pipeline. Thanks again for the vids and being responsive to us. Much appreciated.
For me Brett, lack of xiaomi integration is a pita. Which sensors and switches do you recommend on a budget? Can different devices work with devices from different companies? Like say a Ikea motion sensor working with the yeelight?
I have been looking at a Smart Display but I don't like the fact that you can't type on them. But now Google have the Google assistant ambient mode, making phones and tablets more or less a Smart Display. I have been looking for a tablet, but so far I have only found two, the Lenovo Smart Tab M8 and the Yoga Smart Tab. I'm not sure that I like any of them, do you know when the Google assistant ambient mode will be out on tablets from other brands?
I have not heard any news about it being available for other devices. I might just have to check out the Lenovo Smart Tab so we both know if it is good.
Is there a device that does the auto connecting your phone to your Android auto through Bluetooth? That'd be handy af but I don't think I've ever heard of something pulling that off.
Is that some sort of smart flip clock on the side there between 4:55 and 5:27? That would be super cool if it is! (And it'd be quite nice to know where to get one if it's even available (or available yet).)
Finally someone made a video about virtual assistants without they trigger words such as "Hey Google". I don't have to worry my assistant doing something I don't want it to! Thank you!
Excellent review. Google is expanding in a good way. Cant wait to experience some of them. Thanks Brett, for a great tour of the new google experience already here and coming soon.
Is it possible to do a camera comperising video between the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus Snapdragon variant and the Exynos variant? Do you think that they perform the same? I think that it would be very interesting results. To be honest coming from an One plus 6 I was very dissapointed changing it with a Samsung Galaxy Note 10 because paying 1000 euros I was expecting huge difrence in camera perfomence. Not to say that using the GCam apk on OP6 the I had better results than those on Note 10. Anyway many are saying that there is big diference between the Snapdragon variant and the Exynos variant so it would be very interesting to see the diference live presented by you.
Will be nice when GA is available for Windows 10 via Chrome as an extension. All the websites/RU-vid how to do's for installing GA must have been posted prior to needing to have a G-Suite account. I'm not sure if I'll get charged?
I love the seamless adding and control of multiple bulb manufacturers. When I first got into the world of smart bulbs I got what was on sale, but ended up with 5 different apps to control them. I decided to stick with Hue to create a singular ecosystem, but those are expensive. Also, the scheduling and extra features help give what the Hue app does on the side as well. Very exciting! We just needed some time for this still new industry to work out the quirks.
Is there anyway to set up a smart home without internet yet? (Except for internet on my phone) Like maybe my phone tells everything what to do via Bluetooth alone or something.
Good question. You would need something that can control other devices but connects directly to the phone. Some like the RM Mini Pro. I will need to see if it requires Wifi.
If your car has android auto via plugging your phone, will it be able to do wireless connection when this rolls out? Or will it depend on your car's hardware to be able to take advantage of this?
The is a good question that I am not totally sure about. It sounds like these new option will be dependent on the hardware. I did find this: www.lifewire.com/android-auto-wireless-4176354
Anyone know of any motion and door sensors which will work with google home? But not expensive and available in the UK. Xiaomi switches won't work which is annoying.
The goal of Google Assistant in the car is a full have free experience. navigating, music and messaging can be done without looking at a screen or touching anything.
@@TechWithBrett True I didn't think of that because I have an old car. In a few months I should have a RV and can't wait to see what works and don't work. I will have wifi in it off course
hi Brett. love your video's they've been quite helpful to me. so I've just come across the Echo Wall Clock and was wondering if google will be releasing one too anytime soon?

I use routines with my Google home. Just installed a ecobee5 smart thermostat. Works well with my Google home. The only problem I'm having is including it in my bedtime routine. Can't seem to get it to work. Any idea??
@@TechWithBrett I'm going under routines in the google home app. Check mark highlighted ... adjust thermostat. Then when I click on the gear symbol. It's shows myecobee with the check mark. In a gray color. Then the desired tempture option.
@@TechWithBrett if I ask Google for a command for Temp,or a desired setting. It works fine...just not in my bedtime routine. When I say ( goodnight Google)
All of that is nice, but how about talking about how the Pixel 4 and 4 XL face unlock does not work with Wells Fargo, USAA or Capital One mobile apps. I just purchased a 4XL yesterday, and this really has me disappointed in Google.
From how I understand it, the face unlock is secure enough to be used with these apps but this is a security feature that will need to be updated for each app to be used.
They need to fix reminders as it's not cool to get a 8:00am set reminder at 8:32am or later. This happens on my Android phones, and tablets. Yes I have made sure they have full access and that the battery isn't shutting either the google app or the Google assistant app. I'm also not the only one this happens too.
Only some of these are new. Maybe they are just trying to re-advertise some of these functions. Sticky note is kinda cool but most of the other items that were covered I already do in the house.
I bought the google home stuff and thinking that google will have more options well its sad that amazon has more hardware with Alexa and there are very little things that support google. Google needs to add some more stuff or ill be switching soon
Long story short. Google is always there, always listening. Taking notes and keeping tabs on everything you do and selling it to anyone who is willing to pay for it in order to sell you their products and services.
One thing that sucks is third party that want to charge a subscription... For example my garage opener the MyQ app wants me to pay to be able to say " Google open/close the garage door" I can still do but I must go into the MyQ app and click open/close
My Q actually updated there app and no long require payment for integration. The functionality is limited to checking status and closing it but at least it is free. www.myq.com/google-assistant
I love how, there's all these features, but the most simple things like "hey google, send a text message" doesn't work on the google nest mini. Kinda sucks
That's a great question, they had it automatically changing with the demo. After a bit of searching I believe it is this one in the larger size (affiliate) amzn.to/37VccJW
Really surprised I still cannot use it as a basic stopwatch. Seems like something that would be easy to integrate compared to things they have come up with. 'Hey google use the stopwatch' 'OK just say start , pause or stop to control the stopwatch now' This would be excellent for rubik's cube timing and thousands of other things...
Lighting schedules using CbyGE brand lights - my experience - has been available for about two months. As long I am on my wifi I can schedule lights to come on and off at any time by creating a routine.
@@TechWithBrett hubless. "Within 40 ft of each other/google home device". Seems like they connect directly to GH. They're set up in GH app. Been happy with mine so far. No real connectivity issues here. 2 soft white in the living room lamps, and 3 full color in my room. All within 40ft of GHminis.
@@MyNameIsEarl42 Sort of. It's all done using the Google Home app. You don't have to worry about "exact" phrasing when using the app. Overall, simple to set up and use.
Physical hand written notes won't go away. It's mainly for those reminders that are normally just basic word's and have no emotional attachment and are normally thrown away that same day or the next creating useless waste. Now love notes from your loved ones that's more personal and have a positive impact on your mental health. To me that's deserves something physical such as a real hand written sticky note from your loved ones.
That is a topic I definitely need to cover more down the road as more devices become available. Currently the GE C-life bulbs are compatible and I have a video about that here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_4xkuDq9Vzg.html
Thanks for the video...hope u will make a video about the new functions for Android TV...its pretty dry and I hope their are some real changes and additions coming...thanks again!
Scheduled actions... it's about time! I've been wishing the Amazon Alexa crap would do that for years. If they don't catch up, I can see replacing a lot of my Amazon crap with Google crap.
Emperors new clothes. I mean turning lights on and off via the assistant, wow jaw dropping tech. Give me a call when these so called assistants can do a quick everyday research project for me and I can converse with them with additional queries regarding that subject. Even something as simple as looking at travel options.
