Can you add more presets to the scanning range?

Have you installed 1.31 ? Can't scan 50.000 to 50.350 SSB with this update. It just goes to 50.740 and hangs with me. Amy idea why or is this a bug ?

I have a real issue with the scanning feature I have to be honest. I'm a airband enthusiast and I have a list of known frequencies I want to scan. However at each frequency the noise floor has a differing level therefore setting the threshold is extremely tricky and time consuming as is the parallel setting of squelch. It doesn't stop the scan on active frequencies as a result of this so it's not a plain sailing setup in my opinion. There badly needs to be a plugin for a simplified way of undertaking a memory scan with less fiddly threshold settings. Dynamic noise floor feature part of the fastscanner plugin would be desirable as per the wonderful Airspy which handles scanning like a duck to water. The sdrplay needs to follow suit.

Hi Steve. Ty for your time in making all the wonderful informative videos. I understand it will be a few weeks before I can upgrade to the new RSPdx from my current RTL-SDR dongles. I was wondering if/when v1.32 of SDR Uno will support the RTL-SDR dongles?

How fast the memory scan is? Im currently use RTL-SDR with SDR#, but the scanner plugin is really slow. Not really usable. I was thinking to maybe buy SDRPlay. Could it be use like a scanner (fast enough) to scan memory channels. Thanks.

I downloaded HDSDR and couldn't believe they had no scanning features.....what's the point? But what do you expect for free? I'm using this software, this is exactly what I was looking for.

I've been reading some of the comments on this video and can't help but suspect that the praise is either manufactured, disingenuous or these people have no idea what good scanning should look like. It's been three years apparently since the SDRUno scanner feature has been released, and I must say that frankly, coming from SDRSharp and the excellent (and fast scanner) they have, I'm not impressed with the SDRUno Scanner. I expected more from a premium SDR manufacturer. Scanning in SDRUno is slow, updating the list of frequencies is slow, the scan list focus/highlighting does not follow the VFO tuning, there is no current-channel name displayed on the spectrum/waterfall, sorting or doing anything inside the Mem Panel is painfully slow and the feature is generally cumbersome to use. That said, there are some features that are useful such as saving and loading memory banks and the ability to store those banks with names. I also like the ability to copy/paste the entire list of frequencies to/from the clipboard. I use this method to quickly copy the list to a spreadsheet, make changes, and paste it back into the Mem Panel. I hope some of these issues will be addressed in upcoming software releases and that some serious development time is put into improving the overall scanning experience in an otherwise very good SDR solution.

why cant i scan in sertain frequentie ranges?? like 830-870mhz and numberes outher band withs.

Too bad there couldn't be multiple scans going on at once. VFX 1 would have one VRX 2 would have another.

After using this new version, I thought of something I have in a software controller for not SDR radios that could be added. That is, a count column indicating how many times a particular frequency is found. This would give you some idea of how active a frequency is. Thanks for the great video and now great software.

Many thanks for the new features. Beside the very useful new function some adds would be very appreciated. For frequency surveys it would be very nice to be able to mark known frequencies (e.g beacons or strong spurious) so that the scanner will not stop every time during search and not write it every time to the list. Second it would be very helpful to generate a hit list of actice frequencies. So it would be possible to look for channels with most traffic and very interesting channels with low traffic (e.g. once a day military status).

CAN NO LONGER OPEN 'SCANNER CONFIG' WINDOW - The Scanner window still opens and plays pauses and stops like it should. The Scanner Config window was previously working without issues, and I even made some presets - but now I cannot find the Scanner Config anywhere on either monitor. The Scanner Config 'button' letters temporarily change color from white to orange then back to white when pressed, but the Scanner Config window does not open anywhere to be found. I've moves panels around thinking it was hidden behind one, but it cannot be found. Last preset running was Air-band, and it's now 'stuck' on Air-band and scanning properly on Air-band, except that I can't open and adjust settings in Scanner Config window such as 'Threshold', etc. Has anyone experienced this problem and how might you have fixed it? I'm running SDRuno v1.40.2, Windows 10 64bit, and have even tried completely deleting and reinstalling SDRuno v1.40.2 again, and rebooting everything many times... but no fix. Thank you for your assistance.

Zero IF mode before opening scan window and low IF mode after closing scan window，Why？

Howdy we are new your SDR products but have been around Scanning & all facets of communications for the last 40 years. Having just recently acquired & been playing with the SDRDUO its a great peice of kit & we really enjoy it. As above having come from amoung other forms of communications scanning for the last 40 years I'd like to suggest / request a new feature for the Scanning part of SDR PLAY & that is to be able to choose in the scanning options for SDR PLAY to stop on a voice transmission till the voice transmission ends as apposed to setting a time limit which more often than not is still not long enough or sometimes depending it can be to long after the transmission has finished it is still sitting there that would be awesome. Also when I installed the very latest ver of SDR Play just latley it did not auto install or mention separately installing VB Audio Cable I only found this out when I went & installed MultiPsk & it was a total pain in the rear end to find & install. Anyway as I play & become more comfortable Im sure using 40 years of comms experianve that I will come up with more suggestion / improvements for new versions / releases. Keep up the great work. Excellent video. Still hearing lingo I am completely unfamiliar with as a brand new SWR listener. I went to the EIBI website and downloaded one of the lists only to notice I didn’t see any of our local AM stations there. It looked like all non-US stations. Still a lot to learn I guess. Sorry, I know this was posted 3 years ago.

This is an excellent video. Well done (I presume Paul). In my case, all went well with the 1.3 install on a W10 laptop, and an RSP1. I tried a full 2M Range scan, but failed. I'll figure it out in due course. However, a Mem Bank scan works perfectly, complete with the Y/N settings. Absolutely revolutionary. Good job fellows. SDRplay Management, give the team a big raise (42% minimum), and a company car. Send a car to Florida as well. No, wait .... Florida gets a Range Rover. Paul gets a BMW. In addition, Management must provide a 10 day excursion anywhere in the world, of the teams choice. Rock on Boys.

Thanks, love the pace you teach at. I am stumped by 2 things. Not matter what I do in scan functions, it forces AM mode even when my frequencies are in FM broadcast or something like GMRS which are both FM Mode. I can change it to FM but as soon as I restart the scan it reverts to AM mode. Also I do not understand the use of hold vs wait. It would seem to be the same thing simply based on how long my Hold time is set. Anyone have answers?

Well this WAS the most unused program i had on my desktop in favour of sdrsharp etc etc, BUT, NOW forget about them and kick the cat out, this has to be the biggest improvement so far, making it my number 1 program to use. Can these be used like a spectrum analyzer on the UHF/VHF bands to inspect the signal strengths of various tv channels? I'm told that Spectrum Spy can do this with the Airspy R2 over 50mhz at a time.

The spectrum display is OK, but is there a way to get rid of that silly waterfall? Probably someone thought of the waterfall as a nice visual effect for children, but I find it utterly distracting. It adds zero value. It just takes up space.

How to get upto 6 GHz using just from 1 MHz to 3.2 GHz sdr usb.

Now SDRuno won't halt on a signal. I set it up exactly the same. Strangely, if I set the dBm to 8, it scans, but won't stop on any signal. If I set the dBm to 9 or Higher, it won't scan at all. What the blazes is going on ? I've uninstalled and reinstalled the thing 3 times, and still the same. Using ver 1.33 from your sight.

I am sure I am doing something wrong but I tried a scan with these parameters and it would not scan. Start 26900000 Stop 27500000 with step of 1000. If I change the step to 100 works but that is too small to scan in a reasonable time. Note the scan in the default setting for Airband works fine. Thanks PS. The threshold was set to -70 db with noise level at about -90.

Thanks Steve, great stuff on the scan. One thing I've noticed, it won't scan while in FM Wide mode, and the Courser won't place correctly when in FM Wide. Is that normal, & can that be fixed. Also, what it the Digital Button for ? doesn't seem to work on any signal for me. Using RSP1, 2, RSPduo.

I wish this would scan and decode DMR as well. I love my RSP, but not enough people have them to do a lot of development (compared to RTL-SDR). If they scanned for DMR, I know they would sell more RSP's just for this utility.

Great vid. I am actually thinking about buying SDRplay (or perhaps some other SDR to improve receive capabilities) I wonder if it does trunk scanning and digital modes like DStar or Fusion.

Great update ! But it's a pity memory tags are only visible when running the scanner feature. It would be nice if the memory names (called 'description' here) were displayed during 'normal' listening' on the waterfall, without having to check wether the received station is already in a bank and who it is. I find this feature very useful using another SDR software. Keep on the good work, guys.

I’ve been using parallels on my Mac to run SDRUNO and while it does kinda work, I’d have to say it’s so slow that it’s unusable. It doesn’t look like you guys are going to come out with a port for Mac so it looks like I’ll need to purchase a PC to fully use the app. Can you tell me what the minimum specs I need to look for in a PC to run SDRUNO at it’s full potential, ie no lag or artifacts? Can I use one of the NUC small form PCs or do I need something full sized with a big video card?

It's rubbish on my machine. By far the worst version of this software yet. Quite an achievement. The only way I can get it to work is to uninstall and then reinstall each time I want to use it or never turn off my machine

Great Receivers and Software, ..however :-) On setting the Scanner Range, I seem to have a problem. If I choose Aircraft, it seems to scan fine, However, if I alter the range to 476.000 mHz to 477400 mHz, it won't scan. That's just an example. Regardless of what I set the scan limits to, it won't scan. Where are the preset, or default files ?, may be able to alter them to scan in another range. Thanks.
