I'm so glad I found your channel. Between you and Taylor wynn I finally have people with similar skin tones. ✨️

Welcome! Taylor is probably my number one favorite beauty tuber! I have watched her for years for the same reason...only one with my skin issues and skin color! She was also here in the Seattle area along with Tati so the constant frizz/drizzle/humidity was similar too.

As a 48 super oily gal I run for the hills when I see “glowy” “luminous “ in a foundation description. The only acception has been the Lancôme Teint Idol. I really enjoyed your very detailed and thorough review. You really gave it your all.

Yep! I was on Accutane all last year and took a 5 month break to try lasers for texture and went back to really oily so I know the feeling of going from one extreme to the other! When I was on Accutane before I found I leaned towards skin tints with a little more coverage. Dior Forever 'Natural Nude' was good and the ungodly expensive Koh Gen Doh Aqua foundation was beautiful but very little coverage. In general when I'm super dry I lean towards light foundation and more dewy concealers instead in the tzone dark spot/red spot areas buffed out as my main coverage with the lightest bit of powder to set it. I just realized it's because I went back to super oily troubled skin that has gotten me back to doing so many foundation reviews! Dry skin has it's own challenges but overall I found it WAY easier to deal with since you don't have to do constant touch ups through out the day because it doesn't really move on you!

for your skin type mineral loose foundations would be amazing. they have a little bit of radiance but controls the oils and blurs the texture

I do like them (used to use Bare Minerals all the time) but often the 'radiant' part catches texture and they tend to look cakey on me unless they are very very finely milled.

Thank you for the review! I'm learning to deal with dry skin 🫣 After a lifetime of beyond oily skin and crazy acne. I had to order new Dior fondation, and it seems insane to order anything but the forever matte. I'll give this a try.

Same. Once I reached my 30s my skin was all dry. I used to be combo. I got rid of a lot of foundations because I just couldn't make them work.

Absolutely! It is crazy to go from one extreme to the other with the Accutane but I definitely know what both are like now! Some of my fave ones to wear when I was on accutane before are the skin tints and lighter ones like Dior Forever Natural or shoot even just the Tarte BB Cream with a little bit of concealer. I definitely use a lot less foundation when my skin is dry because it just makes things look makeupy sometimes. If you are dry with this one I'd use the damp sponge application to make it look best.

@redgirlbeautyreviews The one great part of my 50s n menopause is my skins never been clearer 🤣 One challenging part of being a redhead and freckled is it can play as melasma
@redgirlreviews
@redgirlreviews 2 месяца назад
@@trac6009 Oh dang! 😅 Yeah I could see it too. My mom used to try to tan in an effort to get all the freckles to just converge into one solid tan but it did kinda end up just looking like melasma! 🤣 boy I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to being on the other side of menopause at this point. I already had the hysterectomy but my ovaries are still torturing me with the psycho up and down hormone levels. I'm tempted to yank those too and just throw an estrogen patch on and call it a day! 😂

Thank you so much and welcome! 🥰 I think I’m going to do a 6 mo. Update on favorites here pretty soon so I would definitely include those. I can tell you I’m still loving that Catrice serum foundation as well as the Sisley Phyto Teint (SO expensive though) and also the latest makeup Revolution one that’s a bit of a dupe for the Armani luminous silk (I’m blanking on the name…Filter IRL?) and Natasha Denona’s Hyglam concealer is still my absolute favorite!

You mentioned Accutane. I'm doing trentinoin and the dryness is so annoying but every flake that comes off has nice skin underneath. Hang in there! Your skin is so nice already. It will get better. ❤
@redgirlreviews
@redgirlreviews 2 месяца назад
Thank you and boy does it come and go with everything I do to it on the skin...I still struggle with flakiness from tretinoin too, just can't do more than 2 days a week it seems no matter how much I moisturize. I did Accutane for a year before this and there is a few weeks of bad skin purge thing that happens but then overall it is way less irritated and peely than when I use tretinoin topically. I was hoping to use Accutane and be done with but my issues came back after quitting it for 5 months...mostly extreme oiliness that cause big sebaceous hyperplasias all over my face. They eventually get to be disfiguring and I tried everything to control them but the only thing that worked great was the Accutane so until my hormones are done wildly fluctuating I think I will be a long term accutane user. Docs can't prove it yet but they think it also works even better than the topical version to stimulate collagen generation so likely it helps with antiaging as well...so, win win I guess!

This is so crazy because I got a sample of this from Sephora, watched them put it in the little container, and I was still too dry for this. It wasn’t glowy enough for me lol! Skin is nuts!!!

For some reason this foundation looked dry on me even though i don't have dry skin at all 😄. Have you tried the Sisley phyto teint perfection foundation? I received a sample way too dark but the finish looked lovely, i've only tried it on the back of my hand though 😂
@redgirlreviews
@redgirlreviews Месяц назад
Yes, I think it's because it's so juicy at the start that you have to powder it and then some powders make it feel/look really dry. I'm going to try this one again when my skin settles back into the Accutane and I heal from another round of lasers but I kinda struggled with this one. Sometimes it looks great and sometimes not so much. The Sisley phyto teint is one of those holy grail status foundations so far for me. I can even wear it with dry skin and it looks friggin great, really amazing (has to be for the price!) but will be doing that as my next foundation review hopefully next week after my laser peel settles down. I even wore it today over my about to peel tight dry skin and it still looked great though! The color that is perfect if not a little light on me is 00C Swan.

Thank you so much! I do SO much to my skin that I need to make a full skin care routine video. I wish it only took one or two things but it is a lot of different things it actually takes to get results. I do know it works though because I have been keeping records/pics/videos since I was about 40 and decided I needed to do something about how my skin was looking and it has definitely drastically improved!

@@Snowblack6669 Absolutely! I've had the same questions myself and have stumbled through things that work for me and things I think are a waste of money for sure. I've been doing different lasers lately and am currently peeling and crazy dry from another treatment last week so I may spend next week trying to put together the looong video it's going to take to go over everything since I'm too peely to do a foundation review. Still waiting to see the results of this last laser peel though so not sure what I think yet...
