In this RU-vid Video, we tour and review Cortes Campers' new small fiberglass travel trailer, the Cortes Camper 17. We speak to the Cortes Camper manufacturer representative, who points out all of the great features these small camper trailers provide.
We also discuss topics such as Who Makes Cortes Campers, Where Are Cortes Campers Made, and How Much Do Cortes Campers Cost?
In our review of the Cortes Camper, we learn all about how Cortes Fiberglass Campers are made. We also learn that Cortes Campers can be used in all 4 seasons.
This fiberglass travel trailer also has one of the biggest wet bathrooms we have ever seen in a small camper trailer.
Wondering How Much Cortez Campers Weigh? Cortes Campers have a dry weight of approximately 2,700 lbs with a GVWR of 3,500 lbs which makes them lightweight and easy to tow for smaller pickup trucks and SUVs!

As a builder of semi-custom fiberglass boats for about 30 years, I can appreciate the value of cored fiberglass construction. I can also recognize a few things in that camper that come from the marine world. The drawer assembly is okay but I hate those hatches for the overhead storage. Just my opinion but they really detract from the overall appearance. Seafoam green was one of our most popular hull colors so good on that. I read a lot of comments for this video and I noticed a couple of things that got a lot of attention. The price was probably Number One. It does seem a little pricey for the size and, honestly, I'd be hard pressed to justify it. The second thing was not liking the wet bath. Understandable, but there is only so much room to work with in a 17' trailer. The third thing was probably a tie between miscellaneous comments about the layout and the sterile look of the white interior. Observations on those comments - once again, there's only so much you can do with the interior of a 17' trailer and what works for one person might not for another. As for the sterile look of the all white interior, you can always screw or glue things to the walls, add fabrics, etc. to make it look and feel more like a home (away from home). Or paint, you can always splash on some paint. My two cents.

Saw a 2023 Cortes 17 at the Maryland RV show in Timonium, MD, today. MSRP $60,000 Show price of $43,900. I liked the camper, but for that amount of money, you can get a much larger aluminum and fiberglass camper with higher end options in comparison. The all season feature is nice. Time will tell if the resale value is held. Love to hear some Cortez owner experiences to see if they had any quality issues. I liked the weight for towing with my Tacoma. Interesting camper, I'm going to track the brand as I explore my upcoming purchase options.

Glad to see Cortes finally getting underway and (hopefully) through the rough stuff! Love a lot of things about this trailer (double walls, Timbren suspension, no wood, etc), but the storage really seems lacking compared with Casita or Scamp. The T@B campers - hand built by Amish craftsmen and women - at an Ohio factory that offers tours and complete warranty with immediate service and is half the price could offer some perspective. I had to go to the mainland to see what an RV looks like. I like a lower priced model sparsely furnish with no bed frig and stove it shipping outasite with higher gas prices. My understanding is this is inherently very light RV but doesn’t really distinguish itself because it comes only with a fully loaded model.

With the independent suspension, and beefing up those wheel wells with some Rhino Lining to protect from road/off road debris, this could make a nice overland rig. Be interested to see them make an overland rig. I mean at 60k MSRP this trailer is cheap compared to most overland rigs LOL.

Cortes Campers has built a superior quality RV from 100% molded fiberglass with "zero wood" that will not fall apart, mold, rot or corrode, and will last for a very long time plus hold its value. Also, it's a 4-season camper with its double hull and core materials, so you can travel in it year-round. These are only a few benefits as to why the Cortes 17 is better and worth every penny!

Love that kitchen sink! I would rather they had made the dinette a permanent bed with under-bed storage, and the secondary dinette could be two chairs and a tabletop with chairs and table could be folded out of the way. You're probably never going to have more than two people in a trailer that size, so the (relatively) big dinette is kind of a silly use of space. If you could fold the table and chairs up against the wall you'd have more space to move around.

I'd love to see a model that had a single 36"w bed across the back flanked by two 18" seats (so basically this plan but be able to turn only 36" of it into a bed and not the remaining 18" of the benches) then the Lagun table could go over one bench and become the nightstand or be in the center making a U shape dinette. Not everyone travels in pairs. lol Some of us like our alone time. haha and would rather not sacrifice space to a bigger bed. This way, I could keep the bed in bed mode and still have two seats and a table for a dinette by day. The Lagun table could be split so it folds over on itself making a smaller table or unfolded for the full dinette table. This could also make a nice bedtable so you could work on a laptop in bed when it's unfolded when in bed mode (personally, I'd cut down a mattress so it's permanently in bed mode and comfy). I'm only 5'3" 108lbs so plenty small enough for a 36" bed. More than enough and w/ the right pillows the bed could totally be a sofa during the day if needed. I'm not having 6 people for dinner if I'm in a camper. I wouldn't need the baby dinette and would much prefer a bigger closet/storage area there. Is there storage under the benches/bed? The microwave could be moved to where the baby dinette is so it's not so high for us short folks and swapped to a convec/micro so you can omit the other oven for more drawer space. Lots of potential in this, but a lot of wasted space and no place to hang any clothes/coats. Ya'll need to make a 'single ladies' version. Lil bed, big closets. lol

Given the MSRP, it appears Cortez thinks of this as a direct competitor to Oliver’s Legacy Elite I. Other than being able to pick my exterior color, what would prompt me to choose this over the LE1?
