This year has been stressful from over seeing the building project buts it’s all been worth it! Thanks to everyone who played a part! VEVOR cord reel Code: VVMH5%OFF (5% off on all products) Link: s.vevor.com/bf...
In our little community we struggle financially, this was a big deal to see happen. Best part is it’s paid for. We have ran both trucks the last two days on a 160 acre fire protecting multiple structures just across the hill from my house. Every department in our county went. I pumped 6,000 gallons with the Freightliner, I wish I knew out of all the trucks how much water was moved. Thank you for comment!
I just posted on the Vevor thanking them for their donation. We are running your video on FireRescueTV. "Kudos to the Vevor company. We just broadcast the RU-vid video featuring your donation to the Clintwood Vol Fire Department. Thank you for helping out local volunteer fire departments. Martin Grube - CEO - FireRescueTV"
This new fire station is a wonderful contribution to the community. You, your dad and others who helped have done a great job in the construction process. All of your dedication and hard work is greatly appreciated by all, I am sure. And, you and Clayton are an asset as well as volunteer firemen.
I'm a full time police dispatcher and former EMT. We don't have a lot of volunteers on this side of the state. You sir are doing a great job and should be proud of how much you are helping and protecting your community. I hope Frieghtliner sees this and can help you get that other engine back on the road.
This last air compressor seems to be doing good. We ran it 8 hours straight Monday evening. I feel like it’s fixed now. Really appreciate your comment!
Congratulations on the new fire station Ben. You put soooo much work into it and it shows. It’s beautiful. Thank you for a great video and for your service to the community.
Way to go on your new firehouse. I hope you do other videos of your other stations and fire equipment. Hopefully the other big brothers in the United States help you guys by donating equipment or money to your organization good luck stay safe and happy volunteering.
I hope so too! My next goal is to get a tanker eventually to replace the old Ford with. But hopefully the department can keep the Ford. It was bought new in 1986 for Clintwood. Thanks
Whilst im not a firefighter just yet, just want to say congrats on the new station I wish you and your community all the best, greetings from across the pond in the UK
Thank you so much! I started into this last year because my son joined several months earlier. It became a great bonding experience for us and I’ve enjoyed the good feelings of helping people. This building has been my baby for the last several months and I’m so happy it worked out. Have a good day!
Looks awesome Ben. I learned to drive fire truck in about 1972. 1968 Ford Cabover with a tailboard. Back when we road the tailboard in full bunker gear
I was a professional firefighter/paramedic and I worked overtime at a fire department that had the same issues (2” of space between the back wall and front roll up door). The station was built on the side of a cliff. It scared the heck out of me parking their engine in the apparatus bay. But the tax payer’s finally placed a measure on the ballot when the fire station was condemned and the result was a beautiful station getting built and a consolidated department with over a dozen small departments. This video is absolutely awesome and it’s so great to see local support for volunteer departments, especially in the face of a shrinking number of capable volunteers across the country.
Congratulations on the quick response time to the huge fire last night. With all the firemen and forestry personnel that responded, several houses were saved. It well could have been a situation where lives could have been lost. Having the new station on the ridge and two trucks responding quickly made a big difference. A big thank you to all who responded and the great coordination of the departments.
As someone who just recently joined the paid side, but has volunteered for a couple of years now, it’s awesome to see videos like these! I always wish I had the opportunity to serve at a department like this. Seeing just how much leadership and dedication this department has is truly inspiring. Keep up the strong work and stay safe out there Sir!
Beautiful Ben Just Beautiful.......I am really glad to see this Project come to fruition for you and the Fire Department. People do not realize how hard it is to get the funds at a Volunteer Department to do things like this! This Building will not only serve the community for years to come but can help everybody in the community with ISO ratings and even serve as a beatiful recruitment tool for new members......P S this vieo should go in the departments file and be kept for years to come so that future firemen can look back and see how it was done.....Great Job Ben and all the Members of the Clintwwod Fire Department!....YAY!
Vevor seems like a top notch company. I am really tempted to get one of the ultra-sonic cleaners. The cord reals look good also. Nice job Ben on the new fire station annex. Enjoy the Journey - Cheers
Im a part time suburban FF, blows my mind that there are still rural depts that are this small. Congrats on the upgrade keep on serving your community!
I came from a small town, volunteer fire dept, they helped my family. Proud to see y'all doing good, keep up the great work, God Bless and pray for more support for your community. Pops
That’s awesome Ben. You should see if those openers will timeout to close. Our station are set to like 5 mins and will close when you leave. Funny thing we never knew they would do that till we had to get one serviced. Saves from being in a hurry to a fire and leaving doors open.
That's a great new building, nice and simple and gets the job done. And it warms my heart to see one of those old cabover Fords still out there saving lives and property. Those were the firetrucks of my youth growing up in my own end of rural Virginia (well east of yours, heh) and it's always nice to see one still running.
Congratulations! Thank you for putting in the effort for your community. I'm very new to my department but, from one to another..stay safe and thank you! And thank you to Vevor! Companies sometimes don't realize how much of a positive impact they make by those acts of kindness.
@@khtractors that good to hear. How many calls per year? Our FD average 80-100 calls per year. Small town in NY upstate I’m firefighter for 34 years and continue
Having been a volunteer FF with a small rural department I know what it takes just to get where you are. Very nice building. You really needed it. God bless and wishing you and the department much success.
@@khtractors A few years ago I joined a small dying Fire Dept that had 1 Firefighter. The Chief and he was in his late 70s. Long story short. He brought me on for my decades of experience and the 2 of us pulled that dept from the ashes. We sought out community members who we thought would make great team members and started recruiting and training. I had to step down do to medical issues and the Chief died about a year later. But the new team is pushing forward and replaced some of the equipment. So never give up and something will work out.
@@t.d.bowman9585 i greatly appreciate this story. If Clayton had never joined neither would I have. It had been talked about shutting this old station down. The original member I mentioned and us have worked hard this past year to change that attitude and get more community involvement. We need a few more members but I think this nicer building will help with that. Thanks
That turned out nice, I’d like to build something like that at our farm for a garage/shop. I think I’d do the same thing on the commission deal too, those folks have sent you some cool stuff for sure!
Looks awesome Ben!! I know it’s been a long process seems like getting to this point!! I know it’ll be great to have 2 trucks ready & available if need be & a warm place to do what you gotta do as far as maintenance!! I know what it’s like trying to do maintenance on equipment specially fire trucks & Ambulances from when I was maintenance helper at LaGrange Volunteer Fire & Rescue!!
Nice looking station, looks like should the time come to expand again you'll have room to build off the sides as well. My grandfather started our local department back in 76, started with a two stall shack just barely big enough to fit the two engines, now almost 50 years later there's a 8 stall station with all the bays filled.
Wow, that is quite the improvement! Nice of Vevor as well, so definitely more inclined to buy from them when in need of something. Thanks for the update.
Congrats Ben! Very nice building, love the colors.I know that the community is very proud and happy to have it.Happy that Vevor was able to help out with the reels.Take care and have a blessed day.🚜👍👍❤️🙏
Nice job Ben. Congratulations on the accomplishment. I disagreed with one thing you said, you are very rich in many ways, not everything is based on finances. Thanks for another great video.
Nice new building for your fire trucks, congrats on getting it. I have an electrical reel, but if I need another or anyone I know needs one, I'll check them out or reference Vevor. Have a good weekend!
Wow what a difference from the original building, to the trouble that you had with the pad to seeing the new building, congratulations to you and your community
This is very humbling to see how hard some communities have to pull together just to get a structure big enough to fit two fire trucks . I almost feel privileged in that we just built a new multi million dollar station w a whole second floor that’s just a gym ..
You're doing some good work for your neighbors and friends and I am sorry I aggregated you so much about the fire house I'm just a nosey guy that grew up in southeastern ky the only one in my family that's been to clintwood is my sister came to clintwood in the early seventies and got married but seems a lot of people from up there did at that time
Awesome new station. I'm on the FD where I live and we're trying to put in for a new fire house. I love the cabover Ford you guys have. Hope it all works out for you guys 🙏🙏🙏
@@khtractors good luck with the new station as well. I'm also a huge fan of your old binders you drive as well. Definitely following your content. God bless sir🚛🚛🚛🚛
Congratulations, Sir. People do not realize the short supply of people like you. You do not have to run calls to help. There is so much administrative work that needs to be done. Someone could help with that. Or even keeping a check on equipment. Keep it up guys.
Thank you for nice comment! To follow up on what Dad said we spent 20 hours out yesterday non stop. Then called back at 6:15, fortunately the rain started and slowed everything down. Take care!
Hell yea love to see it. Looks pretty similar to the station I ride out of. Just hope yall made the doors and ceeling tall enough... its getting real hard to get trucks spec'd under 10ft. Our doors are 9'9" and it makes it real tough to find trucks that fit. Hell the truck on the right of your station looking in is identical to one we had years ago when my father was chief. And i mean identical to a T (the single commercial cab). We still have the full sized commercial cab of the same truck, the only difference is with the full size the pump panel is on the side.
We have two three bay stations that was built back in the mid 80s and as we've replaced trucks over the year they are at their limits on the size of the trucks they can hold. When the buildings were built we had old C70 Chevy and F-700 ford three man cab trucks and they were more than big enough, now our Engines are four door custom cabs with top mount pump panels and extended front bumpers. We have to have them backed against the back wall and there's just enough room to walk in front of them. They barely fit through the 10x10 doors as well...lol...
Ben…….Great job on the new building! A thousand times better than the one that it replaced! I hope that you can finish it off the way you want it! You sound like someone who is in it for all the right reasons……God bless you and keep you and your fellow firefighters safe! I just subscribed and look forward to future videos! A brother FF
Thank you so much! We’ve been extremely busy the last 24 hours from a forest fire near us. Having these two trucks up here was God sent in this event. Thank you!
Amazing! You gotta love the C-class Ford Fire Engine And the Freightliner! ❤❤❤ Also if you can try driving the C-Class Ford fire engine! I would love to see that! On the YT Channel!
We will be getting gear racks. Washroom is on a wish list, we don’t have enough property to install a septic system and there is no public sewer available now. Thanks for watching
This "shed" housed two trucks that responded to a fire Monday night. The quick response saved several homes from a forest fire that had already reached their yard. Maybe we don't have the big city fire station, but our firemen are still saving homes and lives. My respect goes out to all firemen and first responders.
I’m not exactly sure, I actually think our ISO rating is pretty good. I remember our chief discussing that recently but can’t remember what it actually is. Thanks
You can but you would have to meet tighter guidelines and would require more money. This was built with COVID relief money and is paid for. Thanks for watching
What do you call a station? We are not in a big city with loads of money. Our firemen are all volunteers. They were called out Monday at 3:30 pm and did not return until after 1 am. Nearly ten hours of hard and dangerously work. Would you be willing to volunteer your time like that? Our "garage" is a big asset to the community, and I wish you could have seen the firemen in action Monday night. You don't appear to understand rural areas, but we are very proud of what we have. Too bad you can't relate. This is not the main station for our county.
i get that dooshbag. i live in a town of 3000 people. a fire station by definition has a living and eating area among other things. no one is being negative. its a garage. i didnt say it was a bad garage. you call it a fire station only because it has fire rigs in it. if it had farm rigs, you would not call it a fire station. it would be a garage. FOAD with ur room temp IQ.@@bennykennedy1786
