NEW First Person Mode in Fortnite is AMAZING!

Consider that we never got First Person in Fortnite BR kinda makes me question “What actually happened to first person in the first place?”

For the scoped weapons you could use verse so when you hold a scoped gun it enables that input trigger

It's not perfect, but I love this so much. I never liked how the first person trick before made you feel so small and had such low fov, but this one is a lot nicer, especially since you can see a lot of animations.

Like the aim you could use another input trigger so that when the player crouches it changes to another camera that is lowered. Also perhaps add a switch to have the VHS or CCTV effect on the map?

C'mon epic gotta drop the 1st person mode already dawg 😭🙏

Okay, HEAR ME OUT! Metal Gear Solid 2's first person in Fortnite, where it's Third Person with a pistol, UNTIL you aim and them you switch to said First Person, just like in Metal Gear Solid 2

In UEFN if you add this there is probably a way to have it update the camera to the players head position at basically any time they do something, I.E Sprint, crouch, aim, etc.

Their are other tutorials on how to make first person with the orbit camera. For example Richytoons has a tutorial on one and it works a bit more smoothly.

hey mustard! ive been trying for hours and i dont know how to add aiming for a scoped item. so i was wondering if you could make a tutorial?

With the first person. Why not change pov when crouching like how you turned off the camera module when you right clicked. So when pressed the crouched button, it turns off the main camera module and switch on the lower pov one to make it work better

It is possible to fix things with crouching, you just need to make a second camera that will activate when you crouch using the input device. It just gets quite tricky when you combine that with cameras turning off when you ADS. When you aim, either camera will shut off and it works just fine, but it needs a bit of setup to make you return to the right camera when you stop aiming. I used a switch device that turns on when crouching, and then if that switch is on and you stop aiming, it will signal a trigger to return you to the crouch camera, and if that switch is off and you stop aiming, it returns you to the standing camera. There’s still some bugs but I think this is a good basis for a first person shooter mode.

Speaking of Devices, What happened to past devices that we never got or got fixed?

You can actually place a input trigger and make it so it removes the camera when scoping in

Use the custom input device and make it trigger a different camera lower down to give the affect of you crouching

I wanna say that the orbit camera was not intended to be used for FPS mode. It works, but there are so many problems with it still. Unless there are ways to hide parts of the player mesh or specific bone names, let alone attach the camera to the player head bone, then I don't see this device being a practical use of FPS mode as the player head and eyes continuously clip through the camera. It's almost like there are multiple cameras competing over each other. Very weird.

Hey Mustard! I think you should add the VHSFilter using the Post Process Device in your backrooms map, it'd really fit with the map since the original backrooms videos are made using a VHS filter.

For the crouching one I set up two cameras! one for when they're crouching and one for when they're standing! but since there's not a input for standing back up I made it so you have to Sprint for it to change back😅 Also I'm definitely going to use that scoped option because I very much so like only scoped weapons so why not just make that the only weapon you get in a map by me😂 Also honestly all they have to do is make another option instead of just High character or not instead make it hide character hide characters head so on so forth or whatever else they could do with that I have no clue if that's going to break a bunch of stuff it might😅

Adding the orbit to a trigger doesn’t work. The trigger will automatically remove the orbit in the trigger settings

This’ll be so much easier for my subnautica map

I would love to see a proper first person where you don’t have to go in manually have to do it. They should just basically come out with a first person mode which they are coming out with the first person mode because the fishing rod glitch still works so it’s still development I just think maybe all they need to do is just release a proper first person mode so creative match will be easy and it be really fun in😊 zero build.
