New Fitbit Sense Watch Review - WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW 

I’ve been using FitBit products for 4 years now, and I love them. I think the biggest thing people should understand is that, while it is a smart watch, it is a fitness specific watch. If you are looking for all of the entertainment or communication bells and whistles, it’s not for you. I don’t necessarily like when people compare it to the Apple Watch because they are honestly meant for different users. I currently have the ionic and have made a deal with myself to get the Sense if I meet a weight goal I set. Great review!

Bagged one without a box on eBay for £200, so I'm good with that. Just a general user who needs to track heart rate whilst working out and the smart wake to make sure I get sleep cycles.

I just received my Sense, but haven’t taken it out of the box yet. I’ve been using a Versa. The Sense looks a lot larger than the Versa; the circumference of my wrist is only 6 inches, so this might not be a comfortable fit. We’ll see. I bought the Sense because I need motivation for exercise, since I’m still sheltering in place (I’m 72 with underlying conditions), and just walk around the house and up and down the stairs many times. I haven’t been able to get 10,000 steps yet, which I always scored when walking outside. One big reason for purchasing the Sense is that I want to keep an eye on my heart, which does weird things sometimes. I also want to be able to keep an eye on my temperature. I decided on the Sense because of these features. But you seem to be saying that the heart tracker isn’t that great? Am I right? Is Versa better? Did I make a mistake? Your video was great. Thanks! Thx 👍 🙂 Would be more interesting to compare heart rate monitoring to a heart monitoring belt . Now we are just guessing which watch is right. Belts are the Gold Standards. Is the HRV measuring aviable without paying Fitbit Premium ?

Had the same experience with heart rate sensor, when I do the weight lifting it shows around 100-105 where my old Apple Watch shows more accurate measurements.

A bit expensive considering the history of Fitbit. Should be a good buy around holiday season when it goes on sale.

Good review. Spotify and ECG is a no factor. This is a great device. The winning features is the battery life. Trust me!

I have the sense, so far I'm loving it. I had the fitbit ionic a while ago and from what I remember the heart rate accuracy improved over time. It was almost as if the watch was getting used to my workouts. Don't know if that's possible but it did improve. I'm hoping that the sense will improve too. It's so comfortable and it really is the fitbit I personally was waiting for! With the upcoming addition of ecg and phone calls it will be a great fitness smartwatch in my view.

The moment you said it tracks sleep to wake you up at the end of your sleep cycle, I confirmed the purchase order. Thanks man, I am NOT a fan of wearables because they ad too much information inundation (and we're all inundated enough) but something that helps with sleep would be very useful to anyone these days

good walkthrough, lots of us like staying within our ecosystem. while the cost seems rather high, i'm interested in the sleep aspect of it. and i like many others HATE having to charge our smart devices within 24 hours or 48 hours. let alone wear at night for bed.

Huh are you not going to mention that the SPO2 tracking doesn't work without having the watch face for it??? Seems like a pretty big issue to leave out

If they upgraded the oxygen sensor and added fall detection it would be the perfect watch for me.

Wifi doesn't work and it was super buggy for me all around. I returned mine and have a Ticwatch on the way to try. I had high hopes for Fitbit, this is the Great Value brand Apple Watch

Good review! Something I did find kinda funny was your determining factor of the accuracy of the Sense's heart rate sensor, which was to compare it to that of a Garmin watch. I bought and returned the Garmin Instinct because of the inaccuracy of the heart rate sensor, both when exercising and while resting. Now part of the issue could be that I have a lower than normal heart rate while at rest(48bpm) and maybe the sensor had difficulty keeping track of it but I've had 0 issues with the sensor on the Fitbit Sense.

I started with the Samsung Gear, but it was horrid. Bought the latest and greatest from Fitbit on the 2016 launch. That was the Blaze. Very impressed with it. Flawless until the last two months. Was lucky to get 24 hours on a full charge. It then quit on me a week before the Sense launch LOL. Very pricey, ugggh, but I bought one anyway. I've come to trust Fitbit and know that all kinks and addons will be awesome in no time. 5 day battery life is pretty dang nice too.

I would love to see it compared to the Garmin Vivoactive 4...

When the battery eventually needs replacing can the battery be changed. This is the only thing l need to know before purchase. Thanks for your help

Can it wake you up during the optimal sleep phase? Does it automatically determine when you fall asleep and wake up? Can it automatically set the alarm as soon as you fall asleep?

Overall great watch and useful features, just wish you could answer phone calls and return text, but still a good watch

I am going to wait till Google Assistant and phone call taking from the watch becomes avaible. I also hope the Google buying the company will add Google Pay to the Sense; in Europe, Fitbit Pay supports bascially no highstreet banks. The only other thing I would like is that they give some more detaileld information about the data from the EDA and skin temp.

It might have a lot of great features and tech, but in my experience with Fitbit, the overall quality of the materials is lacking. Their warranty in the US is only a year, which leaves little recourse once your gadget fails shortly afterwards. In 2015, I bought a Fitbit Charge. It was contained within a rubber strap and for the first year, I went through a total of four, with each needing to be replaced after 3-4 months due "bubbling" of the strap where the adhesive would fail. Fitbit was good about replacing the item, but the warranty started only for the first. So when the fourth one similarly failed shortly after 12 months. I was left with a shabby looking item. So from 2016 through early 2018, I was without a device until I bought the Charge HR, which had a detachable strap for replacement or changing the color, if desired. This was probably the best one I bought, as no quality issues occurred while I had it. However, this successfully tempted me to buy a "better" Versa, which I was happy with for about 16 months, when the sealant holding the faceplate/touchplate failed and allowed water inside. Despite drying it out, the plate never worked properly again but even if it had, I would have had to find an appropriate sealant to properly reattach the plate again. Unfortunately, Fitbit might put a lot of effort into their software and usability, but they don't put much thought into making a durable product. I've greatly grown accustomed to tracking my steps, workouts, having messages shown and other technical features readily available, but I'm completely unwilling to spend another $150+ on a garbage product that's designed to barely outlast the warranty. My advice: DON"T BUY A FITBIT unless you primarily sit in an office and want to feel good about your walks to the water cooler. I"m not sure which competitive product I'll end up buying, but for now, I'm just hoping the money I spend will provide me with something I can trust to last several years.

I wish it had Google Pay and Google assistant out of the box. Great screen but seems laggy. Thinking of switching it out for the Ticwatch pro 3. Since you have both what do you think?

I opened several YT vids trying to find out how to get my fitbit sense to update, link to bluetooth, turn on the clockface/homrscreen. No luck at all until I viewed this video. I was ready to return the Sense (actually ready to toss it, seeing as how I was given this unit by my health insurance provider). I figured the watch was under $50 in price. Glad I didn't use it for target practice. I could not figure how to update using my phone's wifi connection, I don't have wifi connected computer so, my update was started about noon, its syill upfating at 5:18. So very glad I have a 5g phone, wink, wink.

nice review... I mainly wanted to check the refresh rate of them because I was testing them myself and as a apple watch user I found out that the refresh rate of the display isnt that good as on apple watch... great watch when bought at sale but I am not so sure at the full price...

At the end you said that this is a pretty good smartwatch but because of the inacuracy of the sensor you wouldnt recommend it to anyone. Is there any watch out there which you would recommend instead?

I am a long time fitbit user but have decided to try garmin. I am currently wearing the venu sq side by side the versa 2. I do notice the steps and hr do differ. I noticed in ur review u mention garmin hr is more reliable. Have u ever tested the steps and hr of a garmin to a known accurate device? Maybe a chest strap? I am curious who is more accurate fitbit or garmin

I had the Fitbit Versa loved it but wanted more so I got a Samsung Active 2 it egc update came out last month I think. It's been a great watch, but I love the look of this watch and the temperature has me intrigue. I might just have to put it on my Christmas list.

I really enjoyed your review of the Sense. What makes you think that answering the calls remotely could be just a software update in the future? I currently have a Ionic and have had it for 3 years. I was waiting for an upgrade so I could answer calls from my Fitbit but I have an Iphone and I guess that's not an option yet.

I was looking at the Versa 3, but I've seen a lot of negative reviews... are they justified? Also is it true that notifications dont come through to the watch if your phone is on silent? Thats a feature I love about the Galaxy Fit.

I had the Galaxy Watch Active 2 since 9/2019. Come to find out last month I cannot use the ECG feature because my Pixel phone is not compatible since you need a Galaxy phone. I got the Sense to replace my Watch Active 2.

I think it’s silly that it requires the Fitbit Premium subscription to “unlock” all the functionality. Ridiculous. I’ll wait until the Apple Watch has all these features. I’d have bought this watch with it didn’t require Premium to use some of the best features.

So , what about the speaker? Can we use it for real alarms , or music or AI assistants response??? Can I play music without the prescence of a phone nearby??

Hi when you say there were some inaccuracies with heart rate readings. What I would like to know is in your testing how snug was the back of the watch to your skin on your wrist? Any looseness will cause misreadings. When mines tight enough to my wrist the heart tracking readings are accurate.Please clarify

I hope it's better than the Galaxy Watch4 with respect to actually being able to measure heart rate. But can continuous heart rate be displayed on main watch face? The Galaxy Watch4 cannot display continuous heart rate on main watch face.
