Very cool stuff although unfortunately it feels like a "win by even more" situation because you need a team actually capable of controlling the center in order to even get the grapple hook in the first place as well as not immediately get laser beamed when you try to carry the flag back through there, and if you already have a team capable of doing that, you're going to win anyway because even at Onyx the vast majority of players have garbage game sense and zero communication.

I don’t know how viable this is… but you can grapple slide from top front base on bazaar from one side to the other base using the middle + area if you need to ever get their fast. You grapple the cover outside the door coming up the stairs.
I prefer the "Subway" method where by you just sprint from one side of the map to the other underneath the buildings to the right or left depending on the direction you're traveling it's thee most obvious route but I see so few actually doing it and as long as your team isn't full of "remote learners" it's an easy win for CTF on the map featured in the video
The thing I hate about this map is that nearly every point of verticality is a jump to clamber or trick jump rather than ramps. I don't like having to make a motion that makes me put my gun away and leaves me completely vulnerable from behind. It isn't tactical, it isn't practical, it goes against all survival instinct and shouldn't be considered "competitive".
That's the risk reward aspect that actually adds to competition if you can spam these techniques without risk that wouldn't be competitive that would be over powered if we didn't have movement techniques the game would be bland and not very skillful, the BR isn't hard to use this games skillgap is much more than shooting, halo 3 was an example of this too and so was halo 2 they had crazy button combos and jumps although no animations would get in the way fine, but what does it matter when there's a wall in front of you that will prevent you from shooting anybody anyways? and even halo 5 was a an example of this people would animation cancel and do tech to get over these things you just have to put more thought into the game is all its just as skillful and tactical or practical as other halos you just simply have to be creative enough to use these things properly.

@@halomechanicguy6829 agree 100%, it’s evolution of game mechanics and allows a deeper, richer sandbox. It would be like someone moaning about Capee in Mario Odyssey or being able to climb everything in BOTW.
I just walk and hide with their flag for a minute confusing them to where I am and just walk all the way home with their flag after that less of a hassle 😂

I kinda wish grappling the flag wasn't a thing. All these crazy sweaty movements, no wonder why our enemy team keeps getting our flag and capturing it in seconds. Too much to learn
You don't even need a grapple to hit that, you can juggle jump off of the needler panel or off the rusty siding on the other side, throw the flag up and grab it as you clamber.
Indeed but that is significantly harder than this, but my point is that this is a tech that can be used on any map anywhere there are many other ways to use this, not just in that specific spot I even have more examples of different places you can hit it in this very video now imagine that in the entirety of all maps and all the possibilities.
Skill ceiling on movement tech is fantastic. I just wish the gunplay would allow for a ceiling increase on the accuracy mechanic as well. In this case- higher shield values with headshots lowering shields at a faster rate. Rewarding those with higher accuracy. Inb4 hErecY Reeeee.
I respect your opinion but I personally disagree I think halo would lose its identity if there was a headshot multiplier and personally I would find that much easier but I do understand and respect your view, I appreciate the comment ❤
@@halomechanicguy6829 oh you're definitely right, what I'm proposing would be an identity shift. And I understand it being a lot to stomach. Maybe forge mode or mods could satisfy the itch while maintaining the core unique experience.
It definitely can be useful, I'm onyx level and if I had a solid controller I could make this work but the point of this video is not that this technique can only be used there but that it can be used anywhere on any map being able to move faster with the flag and take the flag with you while you grapple simultaneously to gain height can only be considered a advantage to be gained that has a risk vs reward aspect to it.

@@PairOfSocksGaming I understand so the first clip is useful in case you are predicting nades down the middle you can instead go up and into br room and do a vent route instead or a shot gun route instead it depends how you want to play it once you get up there you can even stay up there for a second and drop flag and slay one more time and run it normally, it gets you high ground with the flag and that is a good thing if you haven't fully slayed them maybe there are still two alive that are challenging, this opens your options to catch them off guard so they aren't in position for you to then run it shotgun side.
im guessing 343 will remove this tech, you're not allowed to be this good at games anymore in 2022, casuals are always supposed to be able to win regardless if you've put 2000 hours in
The point of the video is to show what is possible with the tech the fact that you can take the flag up to height is useful in any spot, btw I'm onyx to champ level in h5 and in infinite I'm onyx level and I can definitely incorporate this at a high level on these spots, but it of course can be countered its a risk vs reward tech that is situational and coordinated.
i wish they brought back assault back in infinite from Halo 3.. the game mode where u get the bomb and plant it in there base. (i believe it was called assault)
Agreed but someone is gonna have a grapple in CTF it's up to that person to have good decision making with it and remember this can be used on any map.
If you give yourself even some loosely scripted intros and outros and some music or even game sound behind your voice, itll give your videos a lot more production value and presence. Nice content though :)

I do wonder if things like this are good for a video game - seems like an abuse of mechanics and people win based on whether or not they know how they can best manipulate how a game works and deviate it from how it should work. That's one reason I like CS:GO, however, even there, if you don't know perfect nade throws or triple stacks you can get killed and you certainly don't see real-life combatants stand in a column of three people to shoot over a wall lol.
You definitely don't win games because of mechanic knowledge in halo some of the best players don't even sprint these are just things that can give you an edge if you are intelligent with it but it takes skill.
Well what happens is everyone will get used to it and it will become a burden because it takes more effort to do that extra work and if you mess up you're dead and it's very easy to mess up especially if you have another pro shooting at you with a BR. It's a great strategy but like I said, everyone will get used to it and expect it and then it wont be worth much anymore.. and like someone else said you gave to set this up perfectly for it to really work and pros aren't going to let anyone including other pros do as they please so this strategy boils down to a big IF.
@@younglee3376 but then if you are expecting it that creates openings that's a higher level of play all around and then eventually people will not spam it and use it when the openings reverse... it's a mind game and there will always be a way to use it as long as you find that situational moment to apply it and even if you can't because they are expecting it that still is added mental pressure that allows for other plays as supposed to a full stale mate which is what this map revolves around atm which doesn't take much skill in my opinion... this changes that's on some level.

@@halomechanicguy6829 He wasn't making a joke. It's actually called skillcap. Halo players are the only ones that say gap instead of cap. In every other major game, people say "this game has a high skillcap" meaning, the level of skill can go really high. Halo players say skill gap because of the "gap between them and other players". Skillcap is the correct term, skill gap is only used by Halo players.

That flag jump is pretty useless on mid door. No pro player is gonna do this cause it’s a waste of time and can be failed easily which could cost a capture. Everything else in the video is known information
I disagree if they are expecting a push through big door and you already took that route they will prepare nades to the big door and you can go up instead to throw them off and then run the flag BR to bulldog side and also I didn't only use the big door route i used two other routes the one after the vent up to BR is objectively useful and plus this tech can be used quite literally anywhere it's not only big door you can make this work anywhere on any map to get extra height and bring the flag with you and this tech is 100% consistent if you master it, so I don't understand what you mean by failed easily simply master the tech and you can't fail it's kinda like a spring jump in halo 5 and also I didn't only use one tech in this video I used two you can run the flag quite literally faster down the middle and it is a common route to run through the middle when you have 3 or 4 dead and if you can get to the other side faster that can make it to where you don't need an extra round of slays if you can run the flag faster then it is always objectively an advantage if you use it properly.

@@PeteNice29 to be fair most people know the vent is there but not all, the thing is though he is objectively wrong about most of what he said with everything else.
There is a risk and reward aspect to it and adds to the skillgap there is no need for a nerf in my humble opinion this can be easily countered if done incorrectly and even if done correctly at a high level it can be predicted but there are also ways to get past that at a high level I believe it will be very useful but only used occasionally and properly it cannot just be spammed and can only be used with the grapple hook and you only get 3 grapples, it is not over powered at all.

@@AmericanToucan what do you mean? Have you watched professional gameplay at all? Matchmaking is matchmaking that doesn't matter, this is not cheating and can be countered its perfectly balanced in my opinion any pro can punish this tech, yet they can also find a way to utilize it to get a cap but it is by no mean a free cap and it takes skill to pull this off in game and under pressure this simply means you have to change your positioning and predict things like this pros can easily adapt but that also opens the game to more mind games and faking people out in a way.

343 will bring it back we just have to be constructive the people that love the game competitively will stay as long as they start updating the base game and fixing things like desync hackers etc, and then some game breaking glitches they actually fixed one of them recently on this last update so that's a good sign and rn they are actively updating and fixing the store so that's good but hopefully they step it up a bit more soon and they get us some good content as well.
