What to pay attention to when designing a flower bed?
There are several factors to consider when designing a flowerbed, including: its size, shape, location in the garden, type and arrangement of plants. Of course, the flower bed can be of any size, adapted to the size of our garden.
Although in the literature it is sometimes mentioned that its optimal diameter should be about 8 meters. It is obvious that the flower bed absolutely cannot be located in the hollow, because it will be less visible. It is best to choose a flat area for a flower bed and additionally build a central hill in it or, if we have the opportunity, immediately locate it on a small hill. Before we start creating anything in reality, let's draw everything on paper, it will avoid unnecessary work.
How to arrange a flower bed?
We start the arrangement and planting on the flower bed from the inside and work our way outwards. First you need to put all the decorative elements on the flower bed, and only then plant the plants. To diversify the shape of our flower bed, you can put stones, gypsum, wood in it.
This will create a three-dimensional effect. It is important that the colors and form of the flower bed are consistent with each other and with the rest of the garden or property. Variety is nice, but let's not overdo it, because the effect obtained can be flashy. It is worth that the elements of the flower bed have some common feature, e.g. the main color. Also remember that the closer to the center of the flower bed, the taller the plants should be planted in it. In this way, we will avoid obscuring some of the plants in the back by taller plants in front.
