I had the old Nexus rod and I caught my Bull Red PB on it, but I gave it to a friend for his birthday. Now I’m looking for another JW rod. I’m stuck between the Nexus 2.0 and the Night Ranger. I know the Night ranger has better components though. What’s the best choice? Using the rod for Bull red fishing.

I can’t decide between the 7’0 medium or 7’0 mh for skinny water fluke for the night ranger

Depending on the size jig you would be using, I'd personally still go with the Night Ranger 7' Spin Medium Heavy! You'll be able to use it out front as well when they are staging to move offshore starting this coming Fall. Mike- Jigging World

Love these new rods, does the spiral wrap affect casting distance at all and what’s the max lead weight for the mh casting

Not at all especially if you are using slim leader to braid knots like the FG & PR Knots. The Medium Heavy is rated 1-4 oz. Mike - Jigging World

Either the 7' Medium Heavy or 7' Heavy would be perfect! The Medium Heavy would be perfect for your Fluke, Black Sea Bass, Blackfish Jigging & etc and the Heavy can do it all as well but has a bit more power to help land bigger inshore species like Bluefish & Striped Bass!

I think you may be have confused the Nexus 2.0s with another rod series. The Nexus 2.0s have stayed at $149.99+ since its release. Mike - Jigging World
