I absolutely adore my focus rs, I have it in "performance blue" and when I am driving out in the country roads behind my apartment.....I can't think of much better, hot hatches are as much fun to drive on the road as supercars !!!
Eventhough revoknuckle handles that 300 BHP with ease, I'd like to see lightened version with 400 BHP and four wheel drive. That would improve 0-100 time considerably.
he is called Jason Plato, one of the greatest touring car racer, which means he can drive better than clarkson and have more reliablity on talking cars. Which makes fifth gear better to watch as they don't fake a tesla running out of electricity like top gear does
Front wheel drive pish, with more electrics than a Power Station, give me the old Rear Drive Sierra Cosworths, and MK1/2 Escorts anyday, which were REAL fun to drive.
Focus RS is front wheel drive.... In stock form the S3 is down 35bhp on power yet still gets to 60 quicker... I can't see the RS being quicker than the S3 even in the dry....
AWD has only one good thing and that's traction. Except that the system makes the car heavier, less agile, slower, less funny. And if ford made their car have good traction with only 2WD then imho there is no need for them to use a haldex system for example. Ford engineers have said it themselves. They were planning to make the RS 4WD but at their tests it was less sporty and agile than expected
this car is super sexy, but i agree with leviallen27, comparing this to any evo or sti is a little silly. if the car were to arrive in australia it would cost 59,950. nearly 60k for a front wheel drive car (especially a focus) is fallacy. for the same money u can get a new sti or evo x, which are better bang for buck. compared to an st, for that extra money and not have a better dash or 4wd is robbery.. but the car's still sexy =)
And so they managed to make a 2wd car thats heavier than its 4wd rivals....and then tried to save their mistake by fitting it a huge turbo...Congratulations!
whats that got to do with anything.............i never said fifth gear was better, i said plato was a better driver than people on top gear(and btw..........he never was an f1 tester or drove a nascar), he's been in btcc since 1996 and he's arguably one of, if not the best driver there.
it handles better than the bigger sport sedans because of the lack of weight they are saving with just front wheel drive...but in bad weather and evo would easily have the advantage....besides 300hp with just front wheel drive lol sounds like a bad joke...anyways I hope what this guy said about new front diff works...
How much is 25,000 Pound in comparison with a Porsche? Or a Toyota Camry. A guide line because I don't have a clue about the Sterling Puond. John K. Lindgren Bangkok 'Mr Carsanook'
only donw the straight but on the race track you would get overlaped. only thing you got is looks and a big sticker price. don't believe the numbers on papers let the track prove your cars abilities.
Use your brain before replying. Audi is a cut above VW in every single way when it comes to build quality. Focus RS is £25k.... You can pick up a S3 for £26k if you shop around. It only has 265bhp but it's faster than the RS in stock form and with a cheap £400 remap it puts out 320bhp....
Warum bekommen die Inselaffen eigentlich 4000 St. vom RS und wir nur 1000???? Des is doch eine Frechheit, nochdazu wird er in Deutschland gebaut!!!!!!!!
Weak.... I was waiting for the reviews on this one before buying my next car... Decided to go with the S3. Faster in stock form... quattro etc... Audi build quality. £25k for this? Waste of money.
