I agree, the new YSL Libre isn’t a warm floral. To me it smells like a cleaner soapy version of the original. I will be adding it to my collection for spring since I love clean laundry scents. When you said it’s a cold fragrance I agree. In the same family of Soleil Neige which I’m so excited that is on the way to me. 😆

I watched the dior documentary about the making of J adore Lor it was so interesting. On the lychee note in nest: if you have ever peeled the skin off a fresh lychee ir is the most intoxicating scent.ever it's like eating a perfume. Which sounds gross but it's delicious:)

Diva Lavender, This Lavender Essential Oil differs from standard Lavandula angustifolia in its softness. It is less complex, and more linear in scent. The odor as a whole is more sweet, and less herbacious.

I think YSL has done something very interesting with the Libre line. They reintroduced lavender into women’s fragrance. For decades, if you liked lavender you had to shop the men’s releases for something interesting. I’ll probably wait a bit for the Libre flanker to hit the grey market. I bought a lot, a lot of fragrance last year and I really need to give the fragrances in my cache a good wearing. I am glad you got Rogue Saray. If you love the dried fruit accords, SL Arabie is the way to go. It is big and exotic and only available on the resale market. Congratulations on the affiliation.

I purchased the largest bottle of the Black Opium Over Red as soon as it popped up on Sephora. I love and have Black Opium original, Extreme, and Le Parfum. I saw Black Opium and Cherry and just had to buy it. I love Cherry and have TF Lost Cherry, Kayali Lovefest Burning Cherry, Prada Candy Gloss, Britney Spears Midnight Fantasy and Guess Seductive Red. I also purchased a travel size of the Nest Lychee Rose and it’s an amazing Lychee. I’m Chinese and grew up eating lychee fresh and canned. The Nest Lychee smells exactly like canned lychee in syrup. So sweet and juicy. I love it so much more than Kayali’s lychee Eden.

V Canto "Lucrethia" is a 95% match for YSL "Black Opium" and in my opinion it's smoother and better quality. The main difference is the coffee note isn't quite as strong in Lucrethia but besides that it's a very close match.

I totally agree with your take on J’adore L’or Veronica ! I originally pooh poohed that line but 6 months or so ago I bought a used bottle of the original l’or and fell in love ! And the new one is just as beautiful ! Then I fell down the rabbit hole and got voile de parfum and J’adore in joy ! Lol ! I guess my nose changed !!

I just love listening to you! There’s no way I can buy even a fraction of these scents (and I am more than ok with that - I’m loving my specific season of life anyway), but I really feel like I’m still able to participate. I found myself stopping the dishes and just smiling as you described the Black Opium Over Red. Months ago I bought a Julianna’s Perfume sampler and the one scent I knew I was gonna hate (the Lost Cherry dupe... because I hate cherry scent) was the one I loved! I’m wearing it today, so I absolutely stopped the dishes and gave you my full attention! Love your videos!

Can we take a pause and talk about your eye look?! Gorgeous Veronica! I really love clean, soapy, laundry type fragrances and feel they don't get much love in the fragrance community. Someone mentioned soapy vibes with the Le Parfum flanker and I got a big bottle blind (on sale!). I'm not seeing soapy with that one, but am hopeful the Platine is more what I was looking for. Thanks for your feedback on it!!

Jadore has been the ultimate favorite of mine since I was a 15 year old working in a Perfumania. Now that I’m in my late 30’s I know it’s the jasmine that is my favorite of all the florals. Libre the original is one I constantly reach for as well, I haven’t had a chance to smell this one.

I wish I had waited and watched your review before I tried Over Red but, I ran out to try it immediately and was so disappointed. I was expecting cherry and coffee and the cherry was almost undetectable. I lowkey feel it was false advertising.

Hi. Veronica, I got a sample of rouge Saray because I fell deeply in love with lune feline. Rouge saray reminded me of Kayali invite only or sure why, maybe the sweet spicey part but smoother. The Platine flanker is to die for. I have been wearing it non-stop. I love perfumes in the clean laundry category. Black Opium Le Parfum is definitely by far my favorite in the Black Opium family. I will probably get Over Red. I also picked up J'adore L'Or and I love it. Like you say it's on the mature side but in the best way. 😊

Did you know Dior reformulated the Jadore EDP? The current Jadore smells significantly different to the original bottle a decade ago.

@@VeronicaSays The current Jadore has become generic imo. Floral-y and sweet. It doesn't have the spice nor maturity of before. It's great to know which perfumes have changed formulation vs retained especially for classic perfumes your grandmother/mother wore. Some of them still smell classic, like the Chanel main line which afaik hasn't reformulated theirs.

Happy new year! Lady, I could listen to you talk for hours. All your references hit! 😂 I saw on someone’s channel that if you shake the AdOs fragrances before spraying less gold flecks will go into the sprayer than if they’re resting at the bottom.

I did get my nose on the black opium over red. I'm not impressed with the performance . it's definitely not a bad scent, but just not very long lasting. I'll just take my black opium extreme and add guerlain P.Robe noir, cherry scent to it .. I just think if you already have several flankers, this probably isn't going to be your jam and you can add your own favorite cherry scent to this.

Well, now I just have to go test most of these out! 🙂 I went to see if the Black Opium was out this weekend, with no luck, and passed by the new Libre and J'adore... Instead, the barely 18 year old sales clerk (who was trying to be helpful) made me test the new Donna flanker... It's nice, but not for me. "Nouez moi" kinda means tie me up (Noo-hay mwah)...😉

You look especially pretty today! On my monitor you have pink-mauve lipstick with some life to the color (and that shade of pink looks great on you!), and really great eye makeup for you, and you look so good in that bright yellow! As to the perfume, I don't have any of these, but Rouge Saray is on my list.

Folks if you have L'Eau Couture by Elie Saab compare it with the new J'adore L'Or . The notes are not the same but they smell very similar. One of my favorite perfumers is kinda rerunning his oldies but goodies… I do love both since I like the scent profile but wanted to see if others are smelling it too

I’m also loving Dior’s J’Adore L’Or. I received a sample with a lipstick order, and it is lovely- elegant and grown up but not old at all. I’m torn now over whether to pick up a full bottle, but this is a scent I wear solely to please myself. 😃

Ooo I usually don't like laundry scents because if I want to smell laundry, I'll just wash some clothes. 🤣🤣 But I got the Ode to Dullness sample in a subscription and I really liked it for some reason. It's something I would love to wear to bed when it's freshly made and I'm fresh out of the shower (and legs freshly shaved - IYKYK! 🤣🤣). I feel the same about some of the Une Nuit Nomade scents - Sunbleached and NBSAS. 🤗🤗

I just picked up Dusita Fleur de Lalita and I’m in love. I think it will shine in spring but I keep reaching for it even in these cold Canadian winter days. I also added Amouage Epic Woman just before Christmas and it was my Christmas Day scent. A perfect scent for the day. Finally, I have a bottle of Maison Crivelli Iris Malikhan on the way after burning through a decant.

Hi Veronica. I bought Hauts Bijou, Tiara, and Wonder Woman just before Christmas (that sale was hard to beat) and I’m really enjoying them all. Also got a travel set of all of the Signature scents, because it was on sale at almost the same price as the sample set, but that one hasn’t arrived yet. Looking forward to sampling them all. Also looking to sample the J’dore one to see if I will like it. And I’m waiting for the Nest one to arrive, because like you, I am so drawn in by those bottles. I have to say that you are fast becoming my very favorite fragrance channel. I love your energy, and the way that you describe fragrances, but I also really enjoy that you don’t aggressively diss fragrances that aren’t for you. Fragrance is so subjective, and I don’t really understand why some RU-vidrs seem so oblivious to the fact that something they might be describing as horrible could be one of their subscribers very favorites. You always keep it classy. Love, love, love your channel. Happy new year! BTW, I’ve experimented with spraying fragrances with those annoying gold flakes onto the inside of my clothing and it has worked out well for me. It doesn’t seem to leave any lasting effects, and the flakes are gone after I wash my clothes. Just a little bit of “intel” for you from a fellow perfume lover.

I received Unknown Pleasures today and Celeste Giardini Di Toscana 🎉 Celeste is so pretty and ethereal! OMG - I’m in love. It’s better than Bianco Latte! I got that yesterday 😂 Haven’t tried Unknown pleasures yet, but I’m sure I’ll love it too. Yay! So ready to rock Celeste in the spring and summer! I was interested in Over Red, but I think I can really until it goes to Fragrancenet. I was hoping for a stronger cherry note. 😊

I like the plantine.. it's much lighter than I like my fragrances, but I am learning to love those as well. because there's a time, and a place for all fragrances. I'm also learning that I don't need beast mode fragrances for every occasion. sometimes they're just too darn heavy. This is very pleasant and feminine. Thanks for the review.

Exactly this! 💖💯🥰 A lot of folks get caught up in thinking all perfumes have to last 48 hours and be smelled halfway across the world to be worth having. We miss out on lots of lovely fragrances if we think that way (and we tire out our and everyone else's noses, too!).

I really enjoyed your video, as always. I tried L'Or before Christmas and I'm still considering it even though I found it to be a powerhouse floral. Gold Coast is in my summer rotation so Lychee Rose would, I think, be redundant, even though the bottle is so pretty. Of the Libre scents, the original is the one I own and I love wearing it in combination. My fave is Libre with Amethyst Eclat by Lalique. I find the fruit notes in the Amethyst allow the lavender in the Libre to blend in a bit more. I often receive compliments from strangers in public when I wear this combo.
