@@hollaatthekid1796 I went to beauty school in the early 60’s, I put many French rolls in clients hair, and none of them looked like this one…mine were tighter at the neckline and got a bit larger towards the top, and of course they required a whole lot of back combing. It’s a style that I have used for myself over 60 years and I think it’s timeless. There seems to be many versions, but I think the way of doing them in the 60’s were the most beautiful. Glad that you are still wearing your hair that way. I’m eager for my hair to get long enough yet again to be able to wear my hair up in a French roll. 🤗

I think it's to add a defining quality on the other side, simlar to braided faux-hawks.

So glad I wasn't the only one bothered by the scalp of the mannequin head showing. SO easy to fix!!

@@buttarain27 Nah fam. Leaving the bare scalp like that just makes it look like you have thin hair. Braided faux-hawks are a completely different style than what the lady did in this video.

yeah reminds me of my barbies where i burned half their hair off so they always had bald spots when i pulled their hair back XD

Kishea...was just thinking the same about my daughter :) Ive got some length myself, but just had a load of layers.. Id like to try it too...but Im very curly, so maybe a variation. She made it seem super easy, those rolled braids looked like roses. A streak of colour in the braids would look good.

Ms Clementine, I feel your pain! All my life, complete strangers have complimented me on my long, naturally blonde hair. At 58, it is a darker blonde than the white blonde I had as a child, but I don't have a single gray! I had it cut about six years ago because arthritis and fibromyalgia were making it too difficult for me to manage. My hair was just skimming my hips then and I had nearly 20 inches cut off. Since then, due to ongoing medical problems, I have been losing my hair like gangbusters! My poor hair, that was once so thick that my ponytail wouldn't fit in those ponytail barrettes for thick hair, is now pitifully thin. I can take a barrette half that size now, twist my hair up into a knot and use the one barrette to secure the whole thing and my hairline is moving further and further back on my forehead. And, hair! It's everywhere in our house - like there is a hair carpet on top of the wall to wall! I don't know what led to your unfortunate loss, but you have my empathy. I understand how much it affects the way you look at yourself in the mirror and how you feel about yourself. If you've always felt that your hair was one of your best features, the chink to your self esteem can be even worse. I hope you've found some new and creative ways of working with what you have now that make you feel attractive. Best of everything to you and take good care. And, for anyone else who may be reading this, I second Ms. Clementine's admonition. Be kind to your hair and be mindful of what you put into your bodies. U can comb it together, it is just there bcoz she parted the hair with three ponytails, just comb the part together with a comb and hairspray, or just if ur hair is real thin on the sides, this wouldn’t be a good style.

Real ones take 5 minutes tops. You just need a comb and bobby pins and some hair spray if you aren't confident in your backcombing (teasing) and pinning.
