@@InsideTheMindOfMatt I got an old book called The Boy Mechanic that has plans to build an iron melting back yard cupola foundry furnace. I can highly recommend the book. It had plans to build 100's of things kids would never dream of building these days. The book came out about 100 years ago but reprints can sometimes be found online for sale. My local library had a copy when I was a kid and I built an electric motor for a science fair in 2nd grade from plans in that book. Very entertaining read just to see what kids did for fun before video games and the internet. A cool dog powered go cart was another project I wanted to build out of that book. ya that thing has seen some action :)

this is still straight copper I need to get ingots to be able to measure my quantities. But AL/Bronze is very resilient to corrosion vs copper will oxidize quick in the right conditions. Stay tune bronze soon!

Ah it's not that bad, I work in a sheet metal shop where we burn and weld galvanized metal daily for years. As long as you have good ventilation indoors, or do it outdoors, we've never had a problem with fume fever.
