NEW Futurama Episode Titles EXPLAINED 

If The Simpsons is the show that never dies, Futurama is the show that, in its own words, "JUST WON'T STAY DEAD!"

A show that had so much trouble staying on the air is now being brought back after its official ending because it's so valuable. We've come full circle people.

Since David confirmed that we’ll be seeing payoffs to stuff from the older episodes, I really hope they build upon the Inger-is-Farnsworths-Kid reveal from Benders Game. It was a real shame they never followed up on that, and it could lead to some classic familial-themed emotional gut punches, without retreading much old ground.

Good news everyone!

The fact that the final episode is called "Otherwise" feels pretty foreboding to me. Really curious to see what all that one's about, really feels like another pseudo-finale which I'm very curious about. Definitely think that, no matter what they do, it's gonna be an absolute ride to watch.

Man Futurama ended so perfectly I hope they continue the series with some respect to standard the series kept on it's original run

I can't wait! It will be so great to have the Planet Express crew back again, we really need more Bender Bending Rodriguez to cheer us all up. And after rewatching Disenchantment again, I can't get enough of the voice actors who make these weird Groening characters come to life.

I'm actually rewatching it now. I love futurama. I don't know it is nostalgia, but in the chaos of the pandemic and quarantine; I had many shows that kept me comfortable including futurama.

The fact that this show is once again coming back for yet another time, and having this many episodes is astounding. Hopefully it'll still hold up fairly well in today's modern age and new decade, but I also know teenage me would've had an absolute ball with this news of another season. I can't wait to see what each episode premise brings, and based on the titles and your own speculations alone it seems like they'll be a doozy and enjoyable to check out. Out of all of them, hearing your thoughts about the last episode title "Otherwise" it will be so, so, SO interesting to see how it goes. Seriously there's definitely something they could do based off of that one line from Nibbler during the Brain Spawn episode and the whole ordeal with sending Fry back in time to the day he got frozen. Still, even if it turned out to be absolutely nothing but a Star Aars reference, and they do another Fry and Leela love story tie up I'd agree it'd be nice either way I think.

Man its so good that futurama its my favourite show and i will have this show to accompany me arround my 4 years university career, im so glad that Futurama its back. Regardless of the show probably not topping the first run, having Futurama for a while is always appreciated.

I am super hyped for the new episodes of Futurama. It'll be great to see the series come to light again and who knows, maybe it'll inspire people to write more shows like this

Regarding Beauty and the Bug, rather than 'reverting' Kif's true physical state at the end, it's possible they'd be able to create a sort of body suit for him to control instead - sort of like that 'bees in a trench coat' joke lol

The way the previous finale ended, I think it would be cool if they revisit the first season, but maybe have Fry and Leela aware repeating history so they can do different things the second time around.

If they do release the episodes weekly, and I hope they do, please make weekly videos about each episode. It will make every one an event which isn't how binge drops feel. I'm so excited. Futurama is my favorite show and I still rewatch them years later.

I don't want Futurama to end, but I absolutely love when the show is coming back, also while I would love to see how Futurama would look like in years 2004-2005, you have to admit that it saved it from Seasonal Rot's plaquing other long running series.

Bender and Gold bender also quote the Making Friends lyrics in the older episode. Can't help but think they are referencing that episode.

I wonder if Otherwise could be like what if situation, like that scene where Fry goes back in time and confronts Nibbler, what if Fry truly believed he had no chance with Leela, despite what Nibbler said. Like a situation or scenario where Fry has the choice to stay in the past and he just takes it. (Although we have seen different scenarios of other times.) I really hope there's something about the mention of "The Other" (Some sort of closure!!) Also your idea about the premise of "The Beauty and the Bug" Makes alot of sense alot more than what I was thinking! (I honestly thought it would be something about Zoidberg and his relationship) (Since in older seasons he was called a "stinkbug" in the past mostly by Hermes. Though I hope Zoidberg stays in his relationship and things continue to improve for him.) I kind of hope Cuteness Overlord is a Nibblonian focused episode too, heh. Since that's the first thing I thought of, as well as I don't I feel like there's alot we still don't quite know about the Nibblonians as a species. They're pretty mysterious, and yet even though they do appear many times mostly to serve as protagonists. It still makes me wonder if there's someone even more in charge, how do they know of problems ahead of time. That scene where Nibbler is set to push fry into the cryo-chamber makes me wonder if there have been other cases of Nibblonians doing similar missions to other people in other time periods. If anything maybe to even guide things towards Fry's eventual destiny as a savior. (I'm overthinking this but I just feel like the Nibbloonians have always just been so mysterious especially when it comes to them knowing about problems most folks and other aliens don't seem to think about.) Parasites regained and the Children of a Lesser Bog have me intrigued too!! Anyways I always find these predictions pretty neat!! Also the more controversial sounding episodes I'm not concerned about those, you're absolutely correct in which from the very beginning Futurama, would cover more controversial topics in the past, if anything this is just a staple. Also the controversial episodes manage to still be funny but also have some really satisfying endings where things work out for the better! I too was stumped with some of those titles. Yet that will just make it more fun to see what actually happens in those episodes!!

I’m curious about it’s return and hoping it’s good. But why is it we’re so adamant about it coming back again after it eventually had a pretty good run? Just seems like we’re tempting fate into it becoming like The Simpsons (the last two seasons not withstanding)

I had an idea for a Futurama episode. Its about NFT’s taking over the earth, corrupting all technology (including robots), stealing all of earths wealth, destroying the environment and making everyone (human, alien and robot) into slaves. And earths only hope is Bender, and the conjoined forces of the planet express crew and mom (who were one of the few people responsible for releasing the NFT’s onto the world, because they’re ignorant greed).

I think the one thing you missed in the Liberry episode is that in the Brain episode where they got trapped in the books, when Fry realizes where the brains are, he says “The Liberry!” He literally pronounces it that way.

The Temp could also be similar to when Fry was temporarily a cop or a cryogenic tech when Léela put the career chips on the wrong arm.

I went to Sketchfest and relayed a lot of the (admittedly kind of barebones) info from that panel here and it's so cool to see it incorporated here! I would like to reassure people that the COVID jokes in that panel did crack me up and I have faith in this crew to make it feel funny even when it's dated. Billy West made me laugh at a Marjorie Taylor Greene joke, I think it'll be okay. As for speculation... Our idea for "The One Amigo" is that Fry and Leela might move in together and Bender would be left alone and try to embrace his independence. I would not mind a full Squid Game parody even if I don't think "Quids Game" is likely to be that. A battle royale death game would provide some fun opportunities for this show, and I could see them getting creative with it. I want Fry and Leela pit against each other for the Drama of it all. My personal idea for "The Temp" is them bringing back the time traveling Fry and Leela kid plot ("temp" could also be a double entendre on "temporal"), as he infiltrates Planet Express as a temp to get some intel on his past. But that's more of a self-indulgent wish than anything. I don't think "Beauty and the Bug" would be about Kif turning into bugs cuz A) it's singular "bug" not "bugs," and B) they're likely gonna give Kif a family and it would be a status quo shift on top of a status quo shift. It could be a computer bug, related to Bender, or some other kind of bug... who knows. "One is Silicon and the Other's Gold" definitely feels like a Bender thing or at least a robot thing, "silicon valley" and all that. I'd love to see Universe 1 return (they do already parody that song in the original episode). I keep picturing "Attack of the Clothes" like that Jimmy Neutron episode where everyone's pants fight them / the Steven Universe episode with Frybo, and it could be an excuse to show a lot of nudity to embrace the lighter Hulu censors, lmao. "Planet Espresso" could make fun of coffee shops, maybe also hipster culture. Definitely a lot to mock from a New York perspective. Maybe they could even satirize gentrification in a futuristic way. My friends and I have gotten very into the idea of the finale being a three-parter, hence why they released the last three titles separately from the others. "Cuteness Overlord" could relate to the Nibblonians, which would also connect to "Otherwise." So that leaves "Mystery Liberry" in the middle... I do believe the misspelling could connect to the brainspawn plot. So maybe it's an anthology promising to answer a bunch of Futurama mysteries (maybe via the brainspawn answering things?) but it's all stuff nobody ever wanted to know, because they love to troll us that way. And that leads into "Otherwise" addressing "the other"? At least that's what I hope to see. I'd love a touch of continuity.

Silicon can also be a play on chest of silicon heart of gold Or a reference to Silicon Valley and gold rushes/ silicone pioneers vs gold pioneers I do think the reference to one of silver one of gold is accurate but can also be a play on one in the hand two in the bush etc. there’s a few other comparisons/literary analogies to choose from that have a 1 to 1 comparison I think it’s really likely that the episode has to do with body modification and may star lela as she’s had many body image/‘normalcy’ appearance with having a single eye as an underground hybrid, or feature zoiberg/Hermes as both have more ‘science/doctor/kreiger’ vibes and Hermes also turned himself completely cyborg to robot at one point

I've been imagining "Otherwise" could be like a look into a timeline where things went wrong, maybe? That's just speculation. But looking at the word... "You have to do x, otherwise z instead of y" maybe we're going to be looking at Z.

quid's game is an anagram for squid game, yeh, but it also seems similar to "Ender's Game", which has been referenced already by Bender's Game. So maybe it'll be a similar plot? It implies some character named Quid who's important enough to put in the title.

I can't wait!!!!!!! I have been waiting for the payoff of so many cliffhangers. Like Leelah and Kif's babies showing up years, later and not just their babies, Bender had at least 2 kids I can remember, the one kid he kicked into robot hell no problem, and the other kid from the later episodes that doesn't remember him now because he had to have a bending card installed to live his bendingd dream that erased his memory. I think that silica and gold episode will either bring back both of benders kids, the one that doesn't remember him wins big gold in the Olympics on bending, and the other kid comes back as a golden super robot devil. Also Calculon is there and golden. So it could be anything! There also was the episode of trillions of tiny benders that just floated away. There really are a lot of episodes that left the door wide open. Bender was a Pharoah that they hated and buried alive. I just can't wait, and I'm beyond thrilled to get new Futurama episodes! It feels like a dream that would never come true, but I never gave up hope. It's going to be a good few seasons! With all these years to think about it, I'm sure they will deliver some solid new seasons, with at least one or two episodes that really pull the heart strings of us life long fans. I still will never forget the commercials advertising the next new bigger better cartoon made by the same creators as the Simpsons. I remember the night the first episode aired. The whole neighborhood must have been tuned in. From the moment the music started, I have loved Futurama. I know a lot of people didn't really like it early on. But all I wanted was more Futurama as soon as I saw it, and here it is many years later, and I still want more Futurama, it is a disservice to the future for us fans to want an ending. Creations as good as Futurama will never have an ending!! it deserves to live on forever!! Into the Future!!

Theory: Cuteness Overlord is about the Brain Spawn invading again (how I do not know, but for the sake of the theory let’s say they’re back and may be using cuteness to do so). The Futurama Mystery Liberry is the anthology but the framing device is woven into both the previous episode and the next. Otherwise is the finale where the “Other” is explained and we get the Planet Express Crew finally getting the final finale and their happy ending.

Beauty and the Bug. Kif did say that the final life cycle of his species is a swarm of bugs. What if there is another form set in between the two?

I think you're right on the money about "Otherwise" being another finale and it tying up the "Other" prophecy but I wonder if it's been brought up in the writer's room that they always do a happy, heart felt ending for a finale and maybe this time they'll try to aim for something a little more bittersweet to end on. What if Leela's role as "The Other" involves her being the one to save the universe but doing so will have consequences that lead to the end of her and Fry's relationship or even her or Fry's life? I know that gives a bit of finality to the series in a way that it can't be brought back with the status quo in order (I mean it COULD, but...) but after ending on "Meanwhile" which was beyond perfect and then being baited into continuing the story onward I can imagine them agreeing to do 2 more seasons with the stipulation that that's it and that they get to end it in a way that's truly final. I would be okay with that.

I am a HUGE Futurama fan. I didn't know about this. Did they get all the actors back? Can't wait.

I hope Futurama never never dies. I grew up with it and It would be great if they keep it going and they possibly can keep It alive by fitting in modern day things like how they made a COVID episode. Just like family guy American dad and etc they all have great episodes I don’t know why but I can’t get behind the Simpsons it doesn’t catch my attention like family guy American dad and futurama does. There are sooo many episode ideas for thes shows that will keep them from dying. I’m not sure who makes paradise PD but that show is so provocatively funny. I’m just rambling at this point but I have rewatched these shows many many times I need them to keep going because I look forward to them everyday they come out. They give me life ❤

I love futurama and I do believe that I had something to do with it coming back I’ve been talking about it heavily the past couple years. My favorite cartoon and possibly show ever! Every time I talk about something coming out it always does within a year or two it’s crazy

I can’t get enough of Futurama. Just watched it Friday while staying at a hotel on Adult Swim. Going to rewatch some episodes. Also I’m looking forward to the Rage Against the Vaccine episode. I wonder if they will mention the heart attacks, and clogged arteries. Like what happens in real life when people took them.
