EDIT: Made a mistake on the wired version being 89 grams and the wireless being 106g as listed from Logitech. Been seeing in the comments lots of weight discussion for the G502. Sorry I got confused on what was posted also. Mouse still feels great, the glide is a testament to its PTFE mice feet. I got the posted specs below! Connectivity: USB-C Charging Weight: 106 grams Mouse feet: Low-friction PTFE feet Height: 131.4 mm Width: 41.1 mm Depth: 79.2 mm LIGHTSPEED wireless technology Up to 5 onboard memory profiles 13 programmable controls 8-zone RGB lighting Battery life: Constant motion 120 hrs (37 hrs RGB on) Sensor: HERO 25K Resolution: 100 - 25,600 dpi Max. acceleration: >40G2 Max. speed: >400 IPS 3Tested on Logitech G240 Gaming Mouse Pad G502 is such an icon mouse, that just had to cover it. I am still trying it all day today. Figured give all the thoughts & impressions of the mouse and even compare it to the old G502 that I ran down back in the day and also compare it to my G303 which is my main driver atm. Tried to change the format where it felt more authentic and really gave more details to help give you informed thoughts on the mouse!
Honestly, I feel like I do better in first-person shooters with a heavier mouse. When using a lighter mouse, my hand comes off the mouse pad more often than with a heavier one, so I feel like most of the time, a heavier one is more accurate.
Upgrading from those garbage switches is an ez dub. I'm constantly surprised by the amount of people that disable the dpi shift buttons. Biggest selling point of the mouse. Not the dpi shift functionality, but button location. Map them to keys. I use the forward dpi button for picking stuff up in games and back dpi button for melee or gernade depending on the game.
Thanks for this video! I've been scouring the web for a solid review of the g502 x. This is the first one that I've come across that shows gameplay, as well as being fairly honest.
I know a ton of people who use the G502 for work too. The comfort and layout of the buttons as well as the customization of the button layout make it a very special mouse. People like to shit on it because it's heavy like their mum.
I have 3 g502 lightning, one at home, construction site and office/rental flat. I have ESC and ENTER on the triggers and it's making me really fast. For AutoCAD I have a special profile where there is L and M on the trigger buttons to draw a line and move an object. It's the best mouse. Oh and I stuck microUSB - USB-c dongle to each of them for good so now I have "usb-c version" of g502 lightning
@@michalaugustin8122 I use the top left keys for copy/paste, the side thumb for calculator and gsync plus side to lock my station 👍 And I love the weight. That's why I may skip this new generation.
I just purchased a G502 X which is how I discovered your channel. I appreciate the fact that I felt I learned far more about this mouse from your review in comparison to many other reviewers. Big, big thank you for that. Ever since I converted to a glass mousepad I've begun to strongly appreciate enormous PTFE feet and in all honesty this is my primary concern with this mouse. I plan to buy Superlight skates for the sole purpose of pasting the circular skate onto the dongle cover of the G502 X. Do you happen to know if the dimensions are the same and if I might encounter any issues you foresee as a more experienced user of this mouse?
I've been using a G502 Hero for a couple of years now, and it's been great, but recently I've been wishing it was lighter. Looks like the wired version might be the right upgrade for me. Thanks!
Favorite mouse for forever, every button is perfectly placed in my muscle memory for quick melee, ability on top, voice chat and grenade/fire select/another most used ability on side, and last but not least keeping the DPI shifter on over 9000 so that I can spin people around on Roadhog in DM the wtfs never get old
@@MRgemmu I never had an issue with the older gen or Hero G502 clicks, just with the dpi button sticking and it stopped after wearing in. I know lots of other people had problems though so I guess I was lucky
@@LastAphelion oh okay, thanks, i bought this mouse from local store and it turned out to be loud and hard as hell, even my friends said over discord that my mouse makes so much noise, i returned it
I’m an mmo/fps player. To me this is the perfect mouse because it provides all the buttons I’ll need for both games. I don’t understand why people in the comments keep complaining that it’s heavy. It has hella buttons ofc it’s gonna be heavy…
Thanks for the review! I was interested because of the updated look but the fact that I can't insert weight is a deal breaker for me. I personally prefer a heavier mouse and actually use 4x2g on my lightspeed.
Honestly my favourite mouse still the old Microsoft Sidewinder. I've run through 3 of them until their buttons stopped working and since moved to a G502. I also tried corsair and razer, but none ever felt as good for me as the sidewinder.
Bro ure a bot doing this gridshot thing lol 😂 just ordered my g502 x plus and been lookin videos but gosh that aim u have there even tho u said its bad, its very op lol
Only if your mouse is starting to fall apart. Logitech has a habit of lowering the prices of their peripherals after a year on the market so if you can hold out until then, you could upgrade for a discount. We also don’t know if double clicking has been addressed with these new hybrid switches so it’s best to wait if there’s no issues with your current 502.
This might be enough to start buying 'nicer' Logitech mice. I have 3 g502s and one of them double clicks, so that was something I never wanted to deal with on the more expensive ones.
I just got a Hero to replace my decade old middle button failed G502 Proteus. I could return/refund to get a new X but at half the price, no buttons that will fall off, and with weight customization this doesn't seem like a good deal.
Currently using g502 proteus spectrum, but thinking about getting the G502 X Lightspeed. I've always used wired mice so i kinda want get a wireless mouse.
I've just got the g502 last week I'm annoyed it replaced but I'm happy I got 40% brand new. The aesthetic looks better and the rgb is now £150 is to much now
Is there a way to make this mouse heavier? I like the improved switches and the scroll wheel but the added material in between the left and right switches in addition to the light weight make me not want to get it.
I have a g502 lightspeed. The right mouse button has started misclicking after 1 year. Im getting this mouse today hoping the updated left and right click last longer. Googling it, the original g502 lightspeed had terrible problems with the left and right mouse buttons.
@@SaketSam-mp8rk I have 2 G502's. I have a Hero for my laptop I take to work, and a lightspeed I use at home on my desktop. I actually just bought the hero a day or 2 ago because the first g502 I ever owned finally started acting weird. I think I have purchased about 4 of these mice and have been using them since they came out. I'm addicted.
Is the wireless also 89g? I swear I see on the Logitech website it claims the lightspeed is still 106g unless you get the wired version. I have the lightspeed now and if it was lighter it would be superior for me I feel
I have, I felt like the G700s were clunky. I prefer definitely the G502 for its ergo feel if I can get the wired version for lighter weight or the G303.
I currently use a Razer Naga Pro for work and any MMO or RTS games. For FPS which Apex is my main game I use the Razer Basilisk Pro but have been considering something different. I really like the two buttons next to the left click. I have also heard that the G502 is slightly bigger than the Basilisk? I sometimes find the Basilisk a little small for my hand size.
08:31 you say 140 hour battery life, Logitech says "up to 120 hours battery life" there is a big difference here. You are not quoting the correct facts for this mouse. You should improve how you review and not put in false specifications for viewers which look better than what is on paper. Sigh.
I'm on the G305 and just wish it has 2 more programmable buttons. I may have to get the 502 X. Is there a G series mouse with more buttons than a 305 that still retains the form factor?
Even Logitech say on their website "Battery Life May Vary Based on User and Computing Conditions" however not for this reviewer, he glosses over this completely. He fails to test the battery life.
I updated pinned comment reflecting that change. I had a spec sheet with all three mice listed. The PTFE really gives such a smooth glide made me think it was lighter. Honest mistake. Overall impressions are still positive.
Please tell me if you can save the RGB profile in the on board memory, so i don't have to use G HUB anymore... I mean, i can do it with my G502 HERO, but i've heard it's not possible with this one...
If you like how much smoother the 502X is, grab some Corepads for your G303SE! Haven't finished the video yet but by the gameplay portion I didn't see the weight corrected. The wired version is 89g, the wireless ones are significantly heavier. Still decently light-ish for a mouse with this feature set, but heavier than I'd like. Personally, there's a big difference between
My brother who is an architect LOVES my original g502. But to me, its too heavy to game comfortably, and for the weight I’d rather keep using my Mx Master 3 for office work.
@@realbarries I am unsure, I have never used the power play pads before. It is advertised and shown to work. But I am unsure if it works with prior ones? Literally just never used them before. I get the appeal of those charging pads though.
EXTENDED BATTERY LIFE With efficient LIGHTSPEED, HERO, and LIGHTSYNC RGB battery lasts for up to 120 hrs, 37 with RGB on.* but the reviewer claims it is a flat 140 hours battery life wihtout any conditions imposed but did not even test this is correct. Just spews out facts without any testing. It's wrong as well as it is only advertised as up to 120 hours. Poor review.
It looks like a pretty large mouse? And I have small hands. I do want to try an asymmetrical mouse at some point to try a 1 3 1 grip. However, that mouse is too heavy for me.. I used a g304 for like a month and had caused a lot of wrist pain
@@joaoomega6627 I do buy things that are my size. Logitech hasn't realised yet that their mouses are large and heavy, people will be using them only because of the wireless tech. I don't understand what you gain by telling me my hands are small when it's in the comment.
Most people aren't actually good enough for mouse weight to effect their game in a meaningful way. It's largely just marketing hype and chasing after skilled streamers set up.
In your description for this video on YT you even copy and pasted "Constant motion 120 hours 37 hours RGB on " yet you then go to claim a flat 140 hours battery life at 08:31 Bad mistake and factually incorrect information being imparted by this reviewer. Failed to provide us with any real world testing on battery life. Even though he admits " I am still trying it all day today" so uses it for a whole day but nothing about if the battery life advertised is what he is getting. Disappointing review. That's an important feature for a WIRELESS gaming mouse.
Soo, no review thus far had mentioned shit about the fucking on-board memory capabilities.. Probably another fucking mouse that will force you to run the fucking G-Hub software in the background should you want to be able to fucking use its features..
I don’t think I have ever used their onboard memory. I am pretty sure you need the software to do certain things. Going to be blunt, I close the software and never let it run in the background.
@@Costinmusca I am telling you I have no clue because I never use their software to that degree. Most I do is save DPI. (Which I mentioned all I did in the software) Never found any mouse software reliable. I know all these mice come with fancy software but a real gaming mouse is mostly on shape, glide, and other buttons that help you in game. You shouldn’t be switching DPI on the fly in game and you shouldn’t care about the color of your mouse while you game. Even different profiles is odd if someone is taking their gaming seriously. Again bluntly, for a gaming mouse, I find the features odd. I don’t do tons of mouse reviews, I am a gaming channel, if I see something that sparks my interest then I cover it. To give those on my channel the perspective on how I view mice and the qualities that are important.
@@Dazs So this was a thoughts and opinions video, not an objective review of the item at hand. It's not about the supported capabilities and potential use cases, it's only about what your views on it are, based on your.. sample of one case scenario. Got it.
@@Costinmusca I reviewed it as a gaming mouse and my experience in game (hence the gaming portion), glide, specs that matter most to FPS genre, and who would like it. I am not a shill channel.
