Solas getting trapped is hilarious. Also Elven gods being connected to the blight does that mean the gods are the archdemons and that why only two gods. I hope not try cause if only two escape then solas is stuck with five angry Gods and maybe the forgotten ones.

I'm so glad the egg doesn't get killed. Sounds like we will get to work a lot with him as well. I can't wait to hear all the lore dumps he gives us. I imagine we'll get a choice at the end to free him or keep him trapped.

I remember shortly after leaving BioWare and starting his studio to make Stray Gods, David Gaider did a playthrough of DAO where he dropped some tidbits of what had been (at the time, at least to his knowledge) discarded bits of lore. One was that the statues you see in elven ruins and the Darkspawn camps were meant to foreshadow the Archdemon, who was originally going to be much more monstrous and more of an Eldrich horror. So with this finally connecting the Blight to the elven gods, it sounds like that has been a part of the lore since day one. I think it’s kinda cool if this is true, because it means some of Gaider’s influence is still there even though he’s been away from BioWare for several years now.

I dig the idea of Solas being our imaginary friend a la Johnny Silverhand in Cyberpunk 2077.

All I could think of when I saw the reveal was how much I love this community. All the theory crafting and discussion have lead us all here!

I wasn’t too surprised by the identities of the Evanuris we see, they look fairly spot on for their respective design language when they have been depicted. I’m more interested in how this involved the blight generally, seeing as how these two Evanuris are spreading the blight around like radiation we could be getting an extremely dire situation.

The true nature of the blight and its origin is one of the most pressing questions I’ve had about DA lore since 2009 im excited that it’s trending towards us finding that out in veilguard. I hope that’s something we get to discover in game and not just another nugget they’ll drop in another press release lol 🤪

Wait a second... The Old Gods lured Cory & co. into the Black City promising them unlimited cosmic powers. Were they trying to pull a uno reverse on their own chosen in order to get free? Hmm, perhaps it didn't work because the magisters weren't elfy enough.

Dragon age is a particularly special series for me (my daughter would go to sleep to DAI title and my son is named after Hawke) and I can't wait for veilguard. Once we get a release date I will be planning a marathon of all 3 games

I'm not at all bothered by the info drop because it is so early in the game. Instead, the info is incredibly interesting to me and makes me even more excited (evidently that was possible) than I was for launch. Really really looking forward to getting the launch date.

3:55 The Evanuris are BLIGHTED, I KNEW IT. I need this game in my hands right now. I think Ghil created the broodmothers and the blight was used as a sort of hive mind bastardization of what the dwarves had going on. I bet the arch demons were the keys somehow to their prison which is why Solas freaked out when he heard the grey warden’s plan. I am so HYPED

I had always believed the ancient Elven Gods were the ones controlling the Blight. But it was thanks to the Tevinter Mages who went to the Golden City (using a lot of blood) that released the blight back in to Thedas. We now know the Old Gods were renames of the Elven Gods who were trapped. This is why the old gods stopped talking to the Tevinter Mages, they achieved their goal. And just like Coryepheus and how he was speaking to the Carta Dwarfs to try to release him and how they were going after "the Hawke" because they needed their blood.

Once again thank you for the information! I’ve been out of town and unable to read/find a lot of articles (or at the end of a long day not really having the energy to). The fact that you’re doing these vids to have this information available has been a major boon so I don’t have to scrounge the internet to find them all.

not me watching this only half an hour after explaining all of the Flemeth/Mythal/Andraste crossover lore to my friends, that last reveal just hit me like a BUS

The darkspawn comparing Mathirath with elderran is smart. Both betrayed their lover. Andraste and mythal.

One theory I have now is that while the Archdemons are connection to the Evanuris, its not in the way of them being bound to them in some way... In fact its the opposite. The archdemons are like Hakkon, spirits solas was allied to were bound to the bodies of the dragon and they act as the key to the prison he put the Evanuris into. Since 5 of those spirits are dead or just out of play, the prison weakened. This would also explain how the 'spirits' of the archdemons could communicate with Tevinter. As we know from Jaws of Hakkon, a spirit bound to a physical form can't communicate through the fade so the archdemons shouldn't have been able to communicate to the dreamers... But the Evanuris would since they're not there physically in anyway. So if they played a long con to make Tevinter worship the idea of the old gods leading to the Magister Sidereal breaking into the Black City/Arlathan which let the contained blight out into Thedas with them being able to influence in the form of the song they hear telling them to find the archdemons and then either just blighting the spirit is enough to break that lock on the prison or they knew that something would eventually be able to kill it and thus unbound the spirit keeping them trapped. This would also explain why Solas was so against the Grey Wardens killing them, partly because they're effectively destorying his old friends and also because... Its weakening the prison. Since one issue I've always had with the Archdemons are the Evanuris theory is if they were the same, why is Solas so against killing them? He wants the Evanuris dead but didn't have any options to kill them so if all it took was killing their dragon form wouldn't he have done that or encouraged the wardens to finish them off? If that happened he'd be able to drop the veil without worrying about them but... He doesn't. He didn't want the archdemons killed, in fact he was against it even implying it would unleash something worse aka the Evanuris. It feels like we're still missing... Something here but I feel like this links everything together in a way that makes sense, it would also probably mean that while Arlathan is the black city its not the prison Solas trapped them in.

Thank the gods, I noticed that straight away too, that the defaced statues in DAO look like Elgar'nan in the trailer. It's good to know I'm not the only one who spotted it. I remember them because I spent an age once upon a time looking at them and trying to figure out exactly who the darkspawn were trying to represent, other than 'old god' or something, which I think is what it says if you click on them. I....wrong about the elven gods....Man.....I thought it was implied that it was Anduril and Dirthamen because of Inquisition and the Temple of Mythal. Oops...

So what if the archdemons aren't elven or tevinter gods but the keys to the elven gods' prisons and solas has the backdoor key as the jailmaster and ol' lady ghilan'nain directed the blight for a little bit to test the theory on the others and make more soldiers for her wheelhouse of horrors.

I wouldn't call any of these "minor" spoilers. They are pretty fucking huge. Since this is all revealed at the beginning of the game, it's almost fine but still. Also, I always thought the elven gods to literally be the archdemons since Origins so this is no news for me. The connection was too obvious to think otherwise.

Ghil..... They confirmed basically everything you've thought until now! The deities! The blight impacting them! I swear those were some of the first few theories I saw from you back in the day. I am SO thrilled you get to share that you were right! Does this mean your theory about Andraste being Mythal is more than a teehee now? Sounds like it's more than a theory based on those statues. I'm getting major Greek and Roman pantheon vibes from the Magister's Sidereal and the High Priests of the Evanuris. Like maybe the Archdemons are blighted versions The Guardian od Mythal (that big ass dragon) from each of the Evanuris trapped. This "double blight" we've talked about therefore could be the two old gods returning and calling their puts from their slumber. Maybe it was the titans who captured them within the earth. I'm a little worried it'll have so much Solas in it, as I still can't get over the whole genoice without remorse thing (I'd argue his entire romance was him failing to overcome his racism and never seeing his victims as people. He mourns the world he lost and "his people", ready to sacrifice another world to try and being his back) I can't believe they told us all this in a magazine but not about Harding 😂 I get the Elf lovers are excited but dang it I just want some Titan lore. Hello! I got into the DA series recently and have been watching all of your videos! I was thinking about how dragons are resistant to the blight and then thought of the Qunari legend about being related to dragons, do we know how the blight has affected them? Is there a tal-vashoth Grey Warden somewhere? Are the Qunari just as susceptible as humans? I'm still delving into the lore so I apologize if this is a dumb question, I think it would be a very telling fact about the lineage of the Qunari either way!

We don't officially know when the next info drop is, but I guarantee it'll be over the week or so I'll be camping with limited cell coverage...

SOOOOOOOO..... if Elgar'nan how has a clear visual parallel to Maferath... then that means that Mythal potentially IS actually Andraste? (who also happen to have visual parallels like Flemeth's headband/crown/whatever-you-call-it) Just like we all assumed for all these years? Darkspawn defaced King Cailan's body in pretty much the same way in the Return to Ostagar DLC for Origins. Like Maferath, Cailan was plotting a betrayal of sorts--he planned to renege on his marriage to Anora and marry Celene instead. Lots of interesting parallels.

No way, I love this twist in the story! I didn't think I could get more excited about the game, but I was wrong. Also love that they are actually connecting details from origins story to the current story ❤

I really...REALLY, hope our warden come into this story with Morrigan. I need to see him/her come back with a cure for the blight/calling. I'm also so Happy that all our collective theories of the Elven gods manipulating the magisters into freeing them from their prison, thus exposing the world to the blights.

Haha oh wait a minute... i rememeber an interaction between solas and blackwall when i was playing 2 nights ago. Solas was curiously asking blackwall what happens when all the blights end , like , no more arch demons. What happens to the wardens . And blackwall said "well i assume we would then retire " and i cant remember solas' response exactly but he sounded somewhat anxious or nervous in his reply

Sooo, Solas is now trapped and only able to communicate with or through Rook...Since the Inquisitor is confirmed to be in the game, that's gonna be interesting, and potencially funny. Especially in a Solavellan world state, I wonder if that will get...awkward at any point.

Honestly I'm just going to start calling it "Solas Fade Kennel" from now on.

SOLAS ADVISOR 100% My guess is that he will be our advisor at the Lighthouse (in a similar way that Leliana, Josephine and Cullen were in Inquisition), and when we are out in mission he can talk with Rook through some sort of telepathy, since it's explained that Rook is now intrinsically connected to the fade. I also think that he will show us flashbacks of his past to let us understand the Evanuris better.

So, a question for you: How sacrilegious is it that my first, and still favorite, of the dragon age games was dragon age 2?

I swear... If Morrigan (with help, of course) does not save everything... there is no Dragon Age.

We're going to find out that the Maker was the council of Elven gods. And the "Maker" disappeared because they were locked away. Andraste accidentally or purposely took a "Joining" cocktail, and became a "Warden". Started hearing the Old Gods talk, thought it was the Maker. In this case, she was technically right. When the Magisters broke into the Fade, the gods corrupted them to corrupt the prison and eventually break it. The "Old Gods" the archdemons, are actually magical beings that keep the prison locked. After so many blights, and at least one Magister that we know is still running around, the prison is now weak, and Solas needs to move them to a more secure prison. Oops. Rook fucked that up. Now there are going to be two blights at the same time, but with the full power of the 2 Elven Gods behind them.

I feel like they were affraifd to make Solas the antagonist so instead they made him a misunderstood hero. I'm one of those players not siked about the fast combat but I can look past it and just play it as is. I didn't like the combat in DA2 or DAI but still enjoyed the story for the most part. The story they seem to have cooked up this time sounds very silly to me at this point. Hope I'm wrong but personally I'm disappointed with what I'm hearing about the overall story.
