Make that all three, The repair tech for not replacing, or at least removing the defective part! The same thing will happen when ever the wire is removed.
It's fixed til the flame sensor gets cleaned and the person cleaning it doesn't push the wire all the way on the connector again. This will probably a problem in the future.
Well thanks to your wonderful camera angles and do diligence….my money is on a factory defect. Always been reminded that just because it’s new doesn’t mean it good…it just means it’s not used!!
Ima go with factory error, however some installation manuals I've read before state that the installer must check all electrical and mechanical fittings after shipping and installation. I'm positive I've seen this statement written somewhere and it make sense that the manufacture can pass the buck this way.
G'day Ted - makin content I see ?? this is really a very common issue the push on lug has it's barb missing or it hasn't engaged in the insulating shroud - slide the shroud over the wire push on the spade lug slip over the insulator - no big deal. there really is no reason to believe that every single connector on each one of these packs needs to be corrected. Yea, the customer had just put his kids down for a nap and after our warning of possible smell and smoke detectors going off during initial "burn off" he absolutely did not want it tested and said he will do it himself.... just my luck that would be the one with an issue. So anyway, factory defect or installers yanked it with gas line.... what is your guess Chucky ??
Factory defective plastic part. Likely it was working but not connected correctly or was damaged from the factory and then once it goot a couple of heat cycles on it the plastic deformed and loosened the connection enough to disconnect it. My guess because I know your installers had to fire it up and check it so the heat cycles are what got it to fail.
I started my business in 1989, so I am fully aware of proper installation practices, etc. However, in this case, the homeowner had just put his kids down for a nap and did not want us to do the initial burn off which we explained to him could possibly smell or puff a little bit of smoke, and set the detectors off. He said he would do it himself, and that of course would be the one that would have an issue. That’s just our luck. Anyway, careful what you assume because it’s not always as it appears in the video. Seems like thats a faulty part, so first time they need the flame sensor cleaned that part won't connect right and someone won't know whats wrong and proably tell them they need a gas valve and circuit board.

@@TedCookHVAC comedy of errors there. that design for the plastic bit on that connector was chincy as hell. probably would have been better of just removing that part.
