Omg I love Antoinette! She's always such a dear when she's on. She sounds like she really love her job and the way she talks about the Gem stones makes me feel like she really does love this business ❤
When I was young. ( 60"s ) I wanted to be a gemologist. Or geologist. At that time in history. Jobs just did not pay very well. So I eventually became a Chef. I sure missed out. But I still love and collect rocks. & jems. ( a rock hound )
I’ve had a quick scan of the comments and I don’t think lighting has been discussed yet so I’ll ask: Why don’t you simulate the various lighting conditions that either enhance and detract from the beauty of the gem when you are making episode? If you can set up these various light views, from the old incandescent and fluorescents through to modern LED and ultraviolet lighting it would be a very helpful service to novice and experienced gem enthusiasts. Also, if you combined the lighting with very close motion viewing, you would be providing a comprehensive educational experience that many of us (in remote locations) don’t have access to. I love the show, keep up the great work. Chip from Moresby, via Geraldton, Western Australia. 👍😎.
This channel is absolutely delightful~as well as the hosts being marvelous. Antoinette is a wonderful resource and I love her delivery of this interesting information! Beautiful! 😃
With the emerald, right before she said its from the US my mind went to North Carolina! This lady in town must have rock hounded in one of the public mines there and brought back a bunch of materials to sell. She didn't know what she was selling but she was selling for a really fair price and I was content. I bought something opaque hexagonal with 3 sides intact that she thought was emerald.. But I presume possibly apatite. Id love to visit North Carolina and get a big raw hexagonal specimen of emerald.. Idc if super clear or opaque.. Just the natural beautiful hexagonal structure is amazing on its own to me.
why didn't you mention aquaprase is a variety of chalcendony? I feel like this happens quite often, important and interesting details being left out...
One of my fav episodes. Loved seeing the new locations for emerald and ruby. Now I need to collect them. Seeing that "red emerald" again I exist to own it
Wow another discovery out of Africa!! Aquaprase is lovely. I've been a JTV buyer of gems for many years and now discovering their You tube channel. I learned about all the beryls from JTV and Bixbite is awesome. The ruby Natalie was wearing sort of looked like a pink Spinel. I have a black Spinel parcel I bought years ago from JTV and I absolutely love them. Definitely a new subscriber~~!!
If I'm not mistaken the red beryl comes from Utah. I think I'm pretty lucky cause I just so happen to live in that state! By the way, that red beryl bracelet was astonishingly beautiful!
I've always looked at sapphires, deep deep blue , as a reflection of mine and my wife's relationship. It's deep into the darkest parts of life , we keep it secretive , but at the right angles it's raging blue fire. It's a matter of perspective. North Carolina is the place I hope to buy a get away home . We want one for just specimen hunting . The state is loaded with a huge multitude of mineral variations. Hiddenite ...
Beautiful gemstone, you can get for cheaper because it’s not from the actual location of revere high-quality, but rivals it in quality and it has metaphysical properties sign me up
I so loved everything about this episode.. the amazing gems and the wonderful enthusiastic knowledgeable passionate guest !! Wow is all I can say !! First I thought like everyone else Columbian emerald but then I had guessed N.C for it as soon as she said it wasn't Columbian.. And the "red emerald-beryl" maybe should be called a "Fire Emerald " for all the passion it displays
I was able to get a beautiful Winza ruby ring from Tanzania. Simply stunning. I also received Thai rubies and Vietnamese rubies they are all different but beautiful. I think my Burmese ruby is the second prettiest.
@@LouisVuittonPrince no it isn't. I have 3 emeralds and have had all of them certified through different labs. They are emeralds and they are a bright grass green.
Tanzanite is my favorite gemstone following flag black opal from lightning ridge, Australia. Tanzanite is, for the most part, yellow Zoisite, heated up to 800 degrees F for a night in a campfire in Tanzania. It is almost. Perfectly without occlusions and is becoming scarce. It is pleochristic. This mean s if you look at it from one side it's 💜 purple. Turn it 90% and it is Cornflower blue rivaling Kashmir Sapphire. Cutting top side up blue gives far less weight but is far more rare and expensive. It's promo began with Tiffany in NYC, one of the big world jewelers. IMHO they are in descending order Harry Winston, Cartier, Van Kleff & Carpels & Tiffanys. They must be cut deep to show full color saturation. Diamond Simulants are available which fooled me without my refractometer. 🐥♥️
Zambian Emeralds are a tad blueish with almost no inclusions. Out of the many raw emeralds I've found on the beach at known Galleon Wreck sites in Florida after 🌀s. they float and stay on top. There's only 2 llet left. I know where 'they r.
I love microscrystaline quartz and gem silica gems. They are my favorite after Corundum. I honestly like all gemstones that are a 6-10 on the MOHS scale, but Diamonds are my least favorite of them all. I like Feldspars more than I like Diamonds.
When I hear rubies, my 6 year old inner child thinks of sand rubies that I would use to look for in the playground sand box when that was a thing in Arizona.
My engagement ring is with an emerald :) I understand the symbolism and beauty of a diamond. However, colored gems are my thing for sure. :) (my first marriage was a garnet, hoping this second green one is indeed everlasting love ;)
When i saw the emeralds, i was wondering ... is my computer doing a kind of trick to me whith colors ? Also happy to learn and see about ruby and the new gemstone. Thank's for sharing. stef.
JTV I love the channel and can't get enough boxing episodes but I was given a great big chunk of dark blue-ish botryoidal turtle back agate by my 9th grade teacher this year it has some hints of white in it and I need to know some more about it can you please make an episode
